New Persistent Perk discussion ("Cash Back")
TheKingOfToast replied to TheBSZombie's topic in General Zombies Discussion
I was starting to believe it was impossible to get it again after losing it. I made somewhere around 10-20 attempts at it before I started looking up more theories on how many times it would take to get it. Most sources said 15 tries. So I decided to start again and to start counting. I counted 31 additional perk purchases for me to get it. That's 30 on top of a recent 10-20 as well as the fact that I had gone prone after every perk purchase for several games before that. I'm all for the theory that you actually have to purchase a certain number of perks before beginning the approx. 15 prones. I don't believe it is as high as 100, but it could possibly be 25 or maybe even 50. -
Explored that wiki page a little more and looked at those external links. http://www.egr.msu.edu/~lira/supp/steam/wattengine.htm Now tell me that first picture doesn't immediately make you think of the power building on TranZit? Edit: Alternatively, that air pump looks a lot like one of the pieces of the Trample Steam

All map name translations. Do they mean anything?
TheKingOfToast replied to ODXStealth's topic in General Zombies Discussion
mind not blown since great leap forward or skyscraper because if you click DIE RISE it goes to a sub map with it not being called great leap forward it being called skyscrapers That's like saying that TranZit or Green Run should be called Bus Depot because that's what you have to click on. -
I've recently started listening to music while playing zombies seeing as how I enjoyed when the hidden songs came on. I found that my play was significantly better or at least the very least quicker while listening to said music. So I decided to start throwing together a playlist and I was curious to know what some of the songs on the communities Slaylist were. A few examples of mine (I have over 3 hours worth of music seeing as how a good match lasts at least that long) 115, Beauty of Annihilation, etc. (Can't go wrong with the songs made for zombies) When Worlds Collide by Powerman 5000. If you don't understand why this song belings then you've never heard it. Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites by Skrillex. Okay, now this of I'm not proud of, but it's pretty good at getting the adrenaline going. Bodies by Drowning Pool. "Let the bodies hit the floor" 'nuff said.

What Defines Boosting in Zombies?
TheKingOfToast replied to perfectlemonade's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Here's an interesting question. What if I play with my girlfriend? She's fine until about round 7 in which she just continually goes down. Like, to the point where she may as well not be playing. Or what if you join a game and a guy is AFK? Or one of my friends I'm playing with goes to bed but leaves the game on so that I can continue to advance in rounds. Or even if you play with a second controller to get on other leaderboards. There are so many situations out there where it could be considered innocent if you do it on accident, but how do you determine if it was on accident or on purpose? -
Definitely a noob question ;P Don't get me wrong, noob questions are good, it's how you learn and become a not noob. Gibs are the limbs that get shot off. Like if you shoot a zombie in the arm and it pops off, that's a gib. You'll hear a lot of people say it's the amount of times you've been hit, but that is not the case.

All map name translations. Do they mean anything?
TheKingOfToast replied to ODXStealth's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Ahem, 'bout to blow y'alls minds here. Die Rise, like TranZit, is the game mode. A Great Leap Forward is the map name. That being said. In the first game (WaW) the maps were named exactly as what they were in the language of the country they take place. Verruckt: Crazy, or alternatively Asylum, takes place in an asylum. Simple enough. Kino continued that trend being in a Cinema and Five relating to Defcon 5. Ascension throws me at first but then I realized all of the DLC had English names (Shangri-La is a word based on a couple of slang words in Tibetan, however it was coined by an English author) Finally, it seems as though the newest Maps are named after events in history that take place in the countries in which they occurred. -
Terminology That Offends...
TheKingOfToast replied to ninezerowill's topic in General Zombies Discussion
I've always called it a run, and the group of zombies behind me a hoard. Ex. "I'm doing a run on the stage." or "Don't get that nuke, I have a hoard" "Rape train" was always stupid in my opinion, and whenever people would say it I lost a little faith in humanity. +1 to this thread for restoring my faith! -
Clearing things out about the timeline...

It's seems as though they never went back in time. I think the teleporter is capable of taking them forward in time, but not bringing them back. -
Official Ranking System Discussion and Theories
TheKingOfToast replied to way2g00d's topic in General Zombies Discussion
It should count as a down and a death, basically. I think as it stands it doesn't count as a death. I also think that it should count as they only got to that round on that game and not throw that game as a non-play, because I believe the system bases your record on your most recent games (allowing people to actually get better if they started off very poorly) So if you quit on round 3 it should count as going down and dying on round 3 in solo. -
You should add some stuff to it for different stats as well. Like accuracy, mainly.

This is TranZit relevant I believe, if a mod finds it fits better in another (maybe general) please move it. What if the O4 never traveled back in time. What if backwards time travel is impossible, or at least impossible for the Teleporters (Vril-ya may possess the ability). This would solve a lot of paradox issues, and place the time frame at least after CotD which we believe is "present day"So far the only issue with this is that Nuketown is supposed to occur immediately following the MP map, but to that I say who to say the MP map couldn't have taken place in the future. Do you remember a Spetsnaz invasion of Navada in the 60's?

New Map Called, "Electri-City?"

Ranks are based on your most previous games, not your overall stats (as evidenced by Jimmy's tweet) I would also believe that it would factor in what game mode you are playing. Personally, I think it would be better for me to just play hours and hours of turned so I can trash my stats and stop caring so much.

It is not a clock but the Population board which counts down as you kill zombies. It may also not be 19:49pm. I think it is actually 07:49am as i think the sun is out. There is also another clock in the "Ticket Booth" (next to the Turbine workbench") that has the time '05:11 or 17:11' What to make of all this? Last I checked, during a large portion of the year the sun is still out at 7:49 pm. Factor in the fact that when you walk out of the bus depot I am fairly confident you are facing south, and the sun is to the right, or west. The sun rises in the east, and sets in the west, meaning, to me, that the sun is in fact setting and that it is 7:49 pm. To add to this, people kept using the two bus routes on the map as "evidence" of a B bus. My problem with that is that I believe we are already riding the B bus. If it were 7:49 am then why would we be getting on a bus that shouldn't be scheduled until 9:15. It's far more likely that the bus is 10 minutes early than it is for it to be 1+hours early. Quick edit: Also, the time it would take to get from Nuketown to Green Run (Or Sedan Crater to Hanford Site, Benton, WA) is between 15 and 17 hours at highway speeds (55mph/90kph) and buses rarely are capable of travelling over 80mph/130kph. That would reduce the time to a low of about 13 hours. I don't know what all of this information means, necessarily, but I figure I should put it out there so we can discuss it.

Although the days aren't 1 off like Avagadro and Tesla, that Bill Moggridge guy was born only months after Tesla died.

Need some thoughts on Marlton's watch!
TheKingOfToast replied to vvmichael15's topic in General Zombies Discussion
It could also be a time 19:04:38 19 hours in military time is 7 pm 4 minutes 38 seconds So the watch says 7:04 basically. -
What's wrong with wanting to play a game seriously? Cheaters, boosters, glitchers, campers (sometimes), "1 v 1 me bro"ers. They deserve to be trolled, but when someone just gets on to TranZit to trap people in corners and say "LOL I'M SO FUNNY! I'M A GOOD TROLL" then that's just childish and annoying. It's not funny, it doesn't make me rage, it just annoys me. Then they feel successful when someone quits.

Good call. Thanks, it was actually my girlfriend who called my attention to the fact the sometimes the characters quotes would overlap on themselves, so I started trying to find out why, and when that happens. As it turns out, the only time the quotes will overlap is while obtaining a persistent upgrade (more often than not the Headshot upgrade, seeing as how there is more going on while obtaining that one)
-
He said "I knew that was there all along." It is said upon receiving the Persistant Upgrade of added headshot damage for receiving collateral Headshots.

It sounds like, in the opening cutscene, that when Ric says "Accept your fate" you can hear the groaning voice with him.

I've been looking into more things that have been occuring at the same time as The Great Leap Forward and Green Run. I cam across Sea Gem. We've all been wanting a water map and I think this is right up that alley. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sea_Gem The Sea Gem was the first British offshore oil rig, and the first British offshore rig disaster when in 1965, the rig's legs collapsed, killing 13 of the crew. Currently, the only problem with this is the very low death toll. I may continue to update this thread with more shotgunning theories because if you make a million guesses you increase your chances of being right xD Adiition: The North Atlantic Ocean is a theorized location for atlantis. Edit 1: Premier Downs http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mundrabilla_(meteorite) These were enormous meteorites (eh, eh) found in a location known as Premier Downs in Australia.

Official Ranking System Discussion and Theories
TheKingOfToast replied to way2g00d's topic in General Zombies Discussion
I just want to start by saying: Yay, look at my proper forum etiquette of not creating a new thread ^-^. Secondly, I have recent stats of having just obtained the dagger as well as stats of my friends who have daggers. After looking at the stats I cam to the conclusion that the ranking system may not be as broken as we think. Most people say that it will discourage exploring in the later maps because people will be protecting their K/D. However, I believe that the game factors in more of your recent games than anything. My initial thought was "if I was really bad when I started, how could I ever get (ranking wise) 'better'" A bad K/D shouldn't curse you forever and force you to get a new account in order to get a ranking more reflective of your skill. Over the past few games I've been getting more consistent with my high rounds, however due to my excessive playing I was only able to raise my K/Do from 87.5 to 89.9.(K/De @ 135 to 141) Now that doesn't seem like a mile stone to me. However if I factor in the K/Do if the time in between it is 3101 kills, 18 downs and 7 deaths. For a K/Do and K/De of 172 and 443. Now that to me seems like a marked improvement. If you factor in even more of my recent games I believe I may be lower than that but still above a certain milestone (100? 150?) To add to this, I have a friend with a 34 K/Do with a dagger. Stats are here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc ... Dlka19CM1E -
The most outrageous theory regarding Jimmy's latest tweet.
TheKingOfToast replied to TheKingOfToast's topic in TranZit
That brings me to my theory of "stay close to me" in the morse code. Maybe you need to continue to power the obelisk by killing more and more zombies under the pylon?
