  1. Lol, Jungle Run, I remember that! I think we'll probably start of in the middle of a skyscraper, then we can go up and the access more. I can imagine one falling down at a certain time, giving us easy access too another one.
  2. If Marlton isn't on Die Rise, then who will be the fourth?
  3. bump
  4. Can't wait!
  5. Agreed. This map is definitely for TranZit. Thank you! Treyarch can always change their minds.
  6. Well my reasons for it being a survival map touch on that; Treyarch may have scrapped this idea somewhat, and gone back to the Black Ops 1 style. However I do agree, I think it will most likely be TranZit. Anyway, I'm going to bed now, I'll read any responses after school tomorrow!
  7. This is a very good discovergy, Shanghai does look similar to what we have seen of Die Rise so far! I'm not sure why the Greenrun crew would want to communicate with Dempsey, Nikolai, Takeo and Samantha at all however, unless Maxis told them to. Also I'm pretty sure they're not trapped on the moon, as they can simply use the teleporter to return to a fairly destruced earth. However perhaps they are stuck on moon/contained within area51, or they are just somewhere on earth, and we need to contact them. Nice theory!
  8. Hello, and welcome to my theory on what I believe Die Rise will be like as a map, what game mode it will be, and a little about the storyline. Now, if you haven't seen the Revolution DLC Map Pack Preview, uploaded on Call of Duty's YouTube channel, here is the link to it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ruv2xMLuaoA This video shows us a lot about the upcoming DLC, but what I am going to focus on is the information we get about Die Rise. The location Reza Elghazi, the producer of the zombie team states that Die Rise takes place in the far east. Information that Amazon UK has released states that the map takes place in China. The location could be verified by looking at the text shown on the billboards and posters shown in the video, however I cannot define the languages. The area in which the map takes place looks to be a large city, and we see gameplay inside skyscrapers. Reza says that there will be: "Open areas of gameplay as well as very narrow, dark corridors". This sounds very interesting, I would assume that inside much of the skyscrapers there are corridors and elevators, and perhaps there will be a few open rooms, maybe the top garden of a sky scraper, maybe even on the ground. So, what does this tell us about the storyline of zombies? Well, in my opinion, at the moment, very little. We know that Shi No Numa took place in a part of now China (1945 Japan), so perhaps it could have something to do with the large amounts of 115 being found there (remember it was being put into creates and shipped internationally for research back in the 40s). Another theory could be that either Maxis, Richtofen, Marlton or even Samantha told the characters to head there for a reason currently unknown to us. Gamemode and gameplay mechanics I believe that Die Rise could be either a TranZit map, or a survival map, to a similar scale of Moon. Reasons to believe that Die Rise will be a TranZit mode Treyarch have taken a lot of pride in this creation, and running up to the release of Black Ops 2 they said something a long the lines of: 'TranZit mode progresses the story'. If the map were to be TranZit mode, I think that the helicopter, seen in the promotional picture of Die Rise, and the artwork posted on Treyarch's Twitter (I believe) will be involved. As we can see from this image, there seems to be more than just one skyscraper, and more than one will most likely be playable in. This begs the question: How will we travel between the skyscrapers? Well the helicopter of course! I think the helicopter will act similarly to the bus on Greenrun, it will stop off at each 'depot' for a little, and wait for players to enter it. This would be a great way of Treyarch to take travel and TranZit to a whole new level. As can be seen from this developers image, shown on a monitor and explained on the video, elevator shafts will play a part in Die Rise. I think a secondary form of travel in Die Rise could be elevators, that, insted of alike to five where they are controlled by the player, they act similarly to the bus, and stay at a point for a certain amount of time, and then move to the next 'stop'. This way we do not have to risk dangerous jumps within the elevator shaft. Reasons to believe that Die Rise will be a survival mode map Die Rise is never actually stated to be a new 'TranZit mode map' anywhere in the trailer, instead it is referred too as a new co-operative map. Despite my ideas of the helicopter, it would be rather hard to script I'd imagine, plus what would happen to the zombies while you are in transmission? Also you'd be stuck on the helicopter while it is in flight, unlike the bus. TranZit mode was widely considered a step too far within the zombie community, and perhaps they have learnt their 'lesson' and decided to go back to the Black Ops 1 style of map. Marlton's absence from the video Marlton does not actually appear in the video, while the other three Greenrun characters do. Possible reasons for this: 1) Marlton is simply not shown in the trailer because it is not a storyline trailer (like Shi no Numa's, Der Rieses' and Kino der Toten's, and therefore does not represent the zombie plot. He may not be shown because there were only three people in the game when they were collecting footage, or they simply got good footage elsewhere, and the person playing as him simply wasn't in shot at that point. 2) Marlton died at Greenrun, or shortly after. These characters do seem rather dispensable at present, and perhaps they will all get killed off eventually, and be replaced with Dempsey, Nikolai, Takeo and maybe Samanatha (I hesitate because she's in Richtofen's body, which may confuse none hardcore players, perhaps one of the Greenrun characters may join Dempsey and co.). Credit for this idea goes to the user: Imjayisthatokay, on a thread discussing Die Rise. 3) Marlton has joined Dempsey, Nikolai, Takeo and Samantha, and will be playable along with three of these old characters on a future DlC map. All 8 characters may have met up after the events of Greenrun and set out a plan of action (The characters are not trapped on the Moon, they can reach area51), involving Marlton to help Samantha take down Richtofen, and the remaining three Greenrun crew to do a job in the far east. I believe both 2 and 3 to be unlikely, however if 3 is correct it could lead to a very nice storyline, perhaps Samantha has joined Misty, Russ and Samuel. I may add more to this as more information emerges about Die Rise. Thank you for reading, post your thoughts, below!
  9. I don't think he appears in it. This could be the developers just leaving him out by chance (only 3 of them playing). He could just not appear for some other reason, like Russman was hardly in the Greenrun trailer. He may have died or left the group. Perhaps he joined Dempsey, Nikolai, Takeo and Samantha, perhaps he died, or perhaps he reunited with the CIA (if he ever was part of it) Tbh, although we like to think of these theories, I think the most likely is that Marlton just simply did not appear in the trailer for some various reason, but he will still be with the group. I think that we'll see Dempsey and co return in the next map, and maybe hear them in this one.
  10. If Die Rise is a tranzit map, I think there will be some sort of flying vehicle (probably the chopper we see in the promotional picture and artwork), and we will travel between a few sky scrapers, perhaps one or two areas are on the ground. Today is EPIC. Hollywood Undead's new album has been released plus this new zombies info, heck the multiplayer maps look very interesting!
  11. I can't wait for this map. Shame they didn't really show too much of the open areas. Is Marlton shown? Perhaps he has joined Dempsey Nikolai and Takeo (Probably just happened not to be shown however) None the less, the other three are shown a lot
  12. The original Nazi zombies were just for show. They all are officers lol. It's just for fun, it's not attempting to be completely realistic.
  13. Thank you :3.
  14. Thank you!
  15. This is a good point, he may well just beleive that the force of zombies are evil, however he may understand partly why Sam is doing it. I don't think it's that serious. The only sound he makes is of him throwing up, so he clearly isn't very well, however the other characters don't seem to care too much, suggesting that it's not much out of the ordinary. I agree that that is a very valid reason, his face in Black Ops definitely matches his voice a lot more, in my opinion. As the story was not very formulated by the time of Shi No Numa's production, perhaps they just took a random, high ranking Japanese skin for Takeo, without too much thought into his character development and later wanted to change it. Makes me think why they picked the skins for other characters now . Could I use your idea in my original post as option/opinion 3? Perhaps he didn't, he found the characters eventually, and found out where they had teleported too, and then went back in time, and traveled to that place. As long as the characters did not see Takeo in this dimension I don't think it would make a time paradox? This is kind of a weak theory, what's more likely is with his research in the 16 odd years, he found out about the theater of the dead, and that the teleporter in Der Riese was linked to the one there. Maybe the characters talked about it before teleporting? I don't think this is the case, in the released Kino der Toten trailer, Dempsey says: "eh, where are we?" and then Richtofen says, in surprise: "When are we?". This shows that Richtofen may or may not recognize the area they have been teleported to, but does not know when, coupled with the fact the the DG-2 over charged one of the teleporters at Der Riese, it seems to me that teleporting here was a mistake, and they did not know that they would be going there.
  16. Sounds right, with the cable cart heading to his quarters etc.
  17. I love most of the zombies maps, however my all time favorite, and the map that introduced me to Call of Duty Zombies (and cod in general), is: Shi No Numa!
  18. Thanks for the complement. Yes, element 115 does seem to link to a lot of things in the zombie storyline, Takeo may have been over-exposed to it. Nice theory about Russman, I'm sure there's more than what meets the eye with that man!
  19. Hello and welcome to my thread on Takeo, and his apparent aging between the events of Der Riese and Kino Der Toten. Firstly, here is a picture of Takeo as he appears in the original versions of Shi No Numa and Der Riese: Here he looks fairly young, I would say he looks like he is in his 20s or early 30s. Here are two pictures of Takeo as he appears in the Black Ops maps: Here he looks significantly older, I would say at least 40, perhaps in his 50s. He also now has facial hair. Now, all of the other characters look pretty much unchanged from their appearances in Shi No Numa and Der Riese. We know that the characters traveled from Der Riese to Kino Der Toten. Der Riese took place in 1946 (correct me if I'm wrong could be '45) and Kino Der Toten is thought to have taken place roughly around 1962. Using my dates this is a 16 year gap. Takeo, unlike the others seemed to have been affected by the jump in time, and has aged 16 years. Now, I can present two possible reasons for this: 1) Takeo has suffered unusual side effects to time travel, causing him to age. Supporting Evidence: He is often sick directly after time travel, this can be evidenced by the dialogue said by Dempsey, Nikolai and Richtofen during the Call of the Dead Easter Egg (basically they reference him being sick, and the only sounds from Takeo are puking noises). On the Easter Egg radio, added in the Black Ops version of Shi No Numa, we can hear Takeo being sick, and Dempsey telling him to 'walk it off' (or something along those lines), this dialogue is said when the characters arrive at Kino Der Toten. From this evidence we can infer that Takeo probably does get affected by the time traveling significantly more than the other characters, and as a one time effect, he could've aged the years that he traveled (16 years approx) as a strange after effect. 2)Takeo somehow lost the others in the unconventional time travel (over charging the DG-2) and then spent time discovering more about the zombies. Supporting Evidence: In Ascension Takeo mentions that Richtofen is evil, but he must help him as the evil they are fighting is greater than his [Richtofen's]. In moon, after Richtofen switches souls with Samantha, Takeo swears to take vengeance on "all of 935". Now, this seems like a very serious threat, especially because he is of a very honorable (to their word) 1940s Japanese family. Now, he may not have used such strong words if he did not know a lot about group 935 already. My theory: Takeo was separated from the others when they time traveled from Der Riese, and he spent 16 or so years investigating the zombies, element 115 and group 935. He then found out how to time travel for himself, and went to Kino Der Toten shortly before the other three arrived there, and pretended that he had never been separated. When the others asked about his face, he just said it must be the effects of evil Nazi contraptions. Takeo does seem far wiser than Dempsey and Nikolai in Ascension, talking about the pair's memories, as if his has largely returned to him. Takeo also seems to have a positive relationship with Samantha when she is in Richtofen's body (after the moon Easter Egg). This suggests that he has somehow contacted her previously, however the fact that he says (on the lines of): "Richtofen has much evil, however the evil we are fighting today is greater" suggests otherwise, and that he considers Samantha evil. Perhaps it shows the zombie team were still developing Takeo, and this was a slight cross over mistake, but we'll see. Thanks for reading, and post your thoughts and theories, and/or any corrections to my information; below.
  20. Thanks for the welcome, Jak and Daxter forever!
  21. Why did Richtofen go to Shi no numa? Was it just to further investigate 115 and perfect the DG-2? Perhaps they stayed there for a few months (Doctor's quaters). In the trailer Dempsey says something along the lines of: "ok we're here". Perhaps Richtofen told them to find him at Shi no numa at a certain time or so.
  22. I've read through your thread. You do have a nice point, that it could be a long time for the characters between Ascension and Kino. As for basing this on Nikolai's quote, hmm, it may just be for comic affect. It still does lead to the problem with the clothes however. E.g. Nikolai's sleeves are ripped up to expose his wrists on Ascension and Moon, but are immaculate on Shangri-la, and Richtofen's random transition for a map. Perhaps it's some sort of time paradox.
  23. Haha, Russ is pretty funny and blunt. Marlton's knifing sounds defiently are questionable, but shows you his reluctance to perform manual labour i guess. Maybe Misty got around in her past, but she's now interested in a non douchebag-kinda guy, (Marlton) so you've got to give her credit for that.
