In the trailer for Der Riese, it looks like the clock might be at 1:14 but I just think thats because the camera is tilted up. In the game, the hands are directly on 1:15. And The Giant trailer shows us the hands jump from 1:14 to 1:15. They don't gradually move with the seconds, so the 45 seconds wouldn't move the minute hand closer.

Not sure if Richtofen will change Griffin Station. Its already completed by the time he sends Maxis and Sam there. Could be an explanation if the game decides to give more old maps. That way they can make changes and add new things. But story wise, I'm not sure how that will play out. One thing we might get some info about is the radio from Der Riese where the German guy who sounds like Dempsey turns off the shields and tries to kill himself as the outbreak happens. It was a weird recording that had an unknown character possibly causing the Der Riese outbreak. So that would be a cool thing to get some more info on. And The Giant is set at a frozen 1:15. Der Riese was looping around 1:15:42-44. If they are set at the same day, then there is no outbreak before The Giant. Perhaps we cause the outbreak on Der Riese while doing this map. If we do, that recording might come into play.

Nice post. One thing that makes me very curious about The Giant trailer is that it seems to be a prequel to Der Riese. We see the clock stops exactly at 1:15 where Der Riese's clock was stuck around 1:15:40. Which made me think about if we ever got any info on Richtofen between him teleporting Maxis and Sam and him showing up with the other 3 to fight zombies. As you say, I think the timelines will probably be linear. That somehow, Treyarch will make sense of all this and avoid Paradox's, multi universes, or other lazy story telling elements. So perhaps this map sets up something that makes it possible for all this to happen and then have Richtofen fighting with the old crew after it. A quick idea would be something like Origins Richtofen never really was Richtofen. Perhaps after The Giant, the Orgins Richtofen will be tranported back even further in time. Maybe somehow because of this, his name ends up on the pyramid in Shangri La. Then after a few more years of aging, this new Richtofen frees the O3 at Shi No Numa and arrives at Der Riese 40 seconds after The Giant happens. 40 seconds after he had killed the real Richtofen. Thats just a quick idea that I'm sure has many holes in it, but perhaps Treyarch has something like that in mind. Something that keeps the timeline nice and clean.

The most important feature which should be included.

That's why it needs to be habit based like I said. Something like if you quit 3 or your last 10 matches that went past round 3 then you should be penalized. Sucks for people with connection problems but they still hurt other players games by dropping. -

I agree. The XP system is a great way to punish people who quit. They'd have to set up a habit system though. Couldn't be automatic. How upset would some people be if they made it to round 50 and lost their connection having all that XP taken away. -
Still upset they haven't released this trailer yet since this is the one that might give us more insight to the story. But there are some phone recordings of it from the convention. It's pretty much how LILNIG described it. The trailer starts as Richtofen just finishes teleporting Maxis. Then the clock stops and the Origins Dempsey, Nikolai, and Takeo show up. They sound like they know about the events that happen from Der Reise on. Then Nikolai says a "great evil approaches. There is a chain of events that must be set in motion." Takeo then says they "must awaken the test subjects." (meaning them perhaps) Then the zombies start to storm the place. Richtofen tries to open the teleporter to maybe escape. The others warn him that he doesn't want to release whats in there. When he does, Origins Richtofen steps out and shoots the other Rich in the head. Thats the end of the video I saw.
-
Origins Richtofen Pre-Samantha body Richtofen or Samantha in Richtofen I'm hoping its somehow tying Sam/Rich in. Dying to see this trailer for more info.
-
Is that a different Richtofen or Maxis or another Nazi? We see the Origins Richtofen.
-
Thats the name of the new map. Set in 30s with Ron Pearlman, Heather Graham I tihnk, Niel McDonoguh and supposedly Jeff Goldbum. No videos yet. Looks like Goldbum might be Tesla.

Could be them revisiting Der Riese. I still think Origins was an afterlife style map like MotD that happened after Moon. They were stuck in someone's nightmare. The map ended with them opening the gate to Argatha and Der Riese was where Maxis was attempting to open that gate. So maybe they are back at the gate right after Origins and Der Riese represents that. Could still be an afterlife like map where they are back at a representation of Der Riese. That way Treyarch can redo the map but add new perks, weapons, and an EE that wasn't there instead of just doing a reskinned map. Then the new star studded cast of characters in the vanilla map will maybe be another part of the story. Perhaps before Moon or during the events of BO2.

I agree that its most likely campaign related, but I will say that I can't see Campaign or MP fans caring about a viral campaign as deep as this one. I loved BO1s campaign and even I wouldn't really care too much about story hints and teases before the game's release. I'd only really care about the trailers and some gameplay up until the release. But to piece together images and videos only seconds long and dig into Morse code and messages hidden in background audio. Thats more up the zombie fan tree. Again, I think the teases are most likely Campaign related, but the detail they are putting into them seems to be more attractive to the zombie fans. So I think they are going to keep messing with zombie fans by adding things like 4 survivors and metal towers in their messages. Use their campaign teasers to tease us even more.

It comes out of the box which might mean it comes from anywhere. And Maxis might have named it with those coordinates since he was obsessed with Argatha, and if Brock heard that somewhere in that general location might be a gateway to Argatha then maybe Maxis heard the same thing in his research and planned on going there at some point.

Black Ops 3 Cover Art & Description
Cheesegrater28 replied to LiamFTWinter's topic in BOIII News & Announcements
I'd just prefer they let Sledgehammer keep exos and do what they do best. Now that we got a 3 year cycle of games I want them to stand apart. AW would have been a better campaign if Ghosts and BO2 didn't water down the future style storyline. Now 4 CoD titles in a row all taking place in the near future with BO3 copying AW exos? I'd rather get something more like BO1. An interesting plot that surrounds past events. Then let IW go back to its present time settings and let SH keep the future exos. That way it doesn't feel like the same old game over and over each year and let the 3 companies each have a unique game. -

I couldn't find the exact symbols but it definitely resembles Old Persian letters or numbers. -

Me too. Like HW I'm hoping for an older setting, but this teaser could be anything. Might be a continuation of BO2 since it has some quotes from it or might be a beginning of Black Ops in America story since it says everything we know is wrong. Maybe both. Both coordinates relate to WW2 and there are all kinds of symbols in it. I saw some eye looking logo, a weird 8, and a constellation. So you know some of the expert community guys are going to find some cool stuff to keep us busy. And 115 is everywhere in it. -

They also throw the trident symbol from the leak in the mix around 34-35 sec mark. -

47.3667 N, 8.5500 E I think these are the coordinates to Zurich Switzerland. These were coordinates on the gun. -

honestly, when adjusted for inflation, and factoring in the incredible things we get with games today, $60 is a bargain compared to what they could justify selling games for. NES games were $60-$70 back in 1990. we should be paying $100 for games today based off of inflation alone, much less the crazy amount of content we get compared to NES/SNES times. I understand people not liking the microtransaction system. I really do. Stuff is expensive. Im just saying, the alternative could be a lot worse. Exactly. Its also amazing that NES games were around the same price and when you beat them, they'd have about 10-50 names in the credits. Now, video game sound departments have more names then that. So its amazing that they can keep the price where its been thanks to games being so popular now. I'll admit though, that if a game tried to raise the price to $65, I'd be out. Don't want give in to any price increase because once we do it will sky rocket. And this will be the argument they make to shut us up. As long as they are still making profits, I don't want to see that number change. -
The accent in the teaser does seem off but you can tell there is an accent. I just can't tell what it is. I think that's because they're trying to speak in a very calm and soothing voice like a hypnotist. But when he says "thoughts drift", something about the s and t sound just like the Kino voice around 2:23.
-
I brought this up in the COD 2015 post but wanted to address it separately since it might all be in my head. But the more I compare the two voices the more I think they are the same. And since the Kino recordings describe reaching the subconscious, using images in the therapy, and being able to control their subjects, the new leaks seem to relate. I might just be hearing what I want and even if it is the same voice it might just be Treyarch using the same actor. But I figure with the Dr. Salim name drop and the fact we have an unknown portrait on Kino with recordings from an unknown 935 doctor, why not consider the possibilities. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=842Cw3NpnfI

But if someone buys the game for the zombie content on the disk, those same people would buy the DLC anyway. DLC has been up in sales because all CoD titles now offer these extra coop maps and stories and not just MP maps like MW3 did. If they didn't put Zombie material on the disk and waited for DLC, they might hurt their sales. People like me wouldn't buy the game, like I didn't with Ghosts and AW. Then when the DLC comes out, it makes the decision of buying it that much harder since now I have to consider spending $60 for the game and then $15 or $50 for DLC. In AWs case, the zombie content does look fun, but there's not enough there for me to invest that much. Had their been zombie material on the disk and I spent the money then, the DLC would have been a no brainer. Also, Activision puts a lot of importance in their release sales. Hence why they push pre-orders and in Ghosts case, tried to juice up the numbers. So putting Zombies on the disk and advertising it is the best way to make sure those sales go back up to where BO2's were. -
It might even be the same voice from the Kino movie reels. They describe reaching the subjects subconscious and how subject 26 is responding to the treatment. Its a long shot but the voice does sound similar. Hard to say for sure since the Kino reels have a lot of static and he's talking calmly in the snapshot leak. Close enough to speculate at least. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=842Cw3NpnfI Skip to around 2:40
