  1. Looking at the map, and noticing after a MP match ending the nuke comes from the opposite side of the giant crater, I am almost certain the smaller crater was the one made after the multiplayer match is over. It's just weird because I don't think a group of CIA agents could really go investigate a site where a nuclear bomb just went off. The Hazmat guys I can understand, but I doubt a suite and sun glasses are going to shield you from radiation poisoning. Could it be the Hazmats arrive first? It would make sense because there are Hazmat zombies, yet no CIA zombies. Or it could be some time after detonation, as when you look at the NTZ map select screen, it shows no signs of a blast coming from the west, the dirt and debris should have a drag affect showing the direction the multiplayer nuke, or it could have just been an overlooked detail.
  2. It seems the COD:Online Dead Rising mode finally implemented that feature. We could be seeing that in our next installment, I wouldn't mind it as long as they never add character select.
  3. Slade I think you made a mistake, spoiler tab 1 and 3 are the same image. Thanks for posting though I'm really excited to see what they say! Also thanks for that review Flammen, any chance you could compile a list of quotes?
  4. What a great read, I'll have to go over a another time but I gave it a full read, like the others say it's very well done. For the longest time I thought that jet wing was a hallway within the UFO (it's unidentified doesn't mean it's alien) but once I read your idea and looked at it, it's definitely a jet wing. I'm certain this is the die rise voice as well as the post EE map icons that have radio chatter.
  5. Pretty good post, I have a couple of questions though, you may not have considered. The writings on the wall, added through trail and error made my Weasel as a guide to get off the island, some wrote on paper, some on the walls in blood. You say that once they reach the end of their loop, it resets and everything starts over like a video recording. Why would the writings remain if it's on a looped track? Perhaps only major changes in a "loop" can disturb the order. We surely have seen writing in just about every map if not all, if even the O4 are in a loop the same question applies. Also, you say that while in Afterlife, you are only aware of your death and the regret that comes with it, upon reviving yourself you lose the memory of being dead. Why then, are there no specific quotes from another player to back this up? Most of the time the person who goes down will revive themselves, and your theory makes perfect sense when thinking that way, but what if another player revives your dying body? I know the revived person would still lose memory but surely if I were laying on the ground dying and you revived me, it would strike you as strange you have no recollection right? It just seems like they would be aware of their ability to die and come back, especially with the quote from Sal, upon approaching a kill switch he says something a long the lines of "If anyone plans on offing themselves I think I found the way to do it". Of course this could just mean they want to try to kill themselves rather than facing zombies and trying to escape, just doesn't sit well with me being they are all hardened killers that live as gangters, which in itself is a kind of survival.
  6. Humans can be real dirt bags.... I didn't click on all the links, but the ones I did, and this thread were a great read, bummed me out a little but that's just the world I suppose. Maybe I won't curse those cosmo monkeys so much next time I play Ascension.
  7. Did Origins end zombies for BO2 well or not?- I think it ended in a way that could either carry the story we already have, or it could created a new story, branched from what we already know story wise. I surely don't think it's over. It ended well enough for me, but in all honesty that intro to Origins beat the ending 100x over haha. Will you be looking forward to more storyline or gameplay?- I will be keeping my eyes open for the next installment of zombies, but it's going to be REALLY hard to preorder, or run out and buy it on a midnight release. Although I thought BO2 was ok, it wasn't anything like I thought it would be, and the things I had major problems with, seems like I've talked myself into ignoring so I can continue to enjoy the game with friends. I spent a lot of money on BO2, and release night was awful, it's left a sour taste that will more than likely leave me waiting to hear you guys thoughts on the newest zombie installment before I rush out and get it. Of course, regardless I will own it, but may wait for DLC or price drop..or I could just be lying to myself and just get it (crazy fan logic). The gameplay has always been good, it's the story that's starting to worry me. I'm a very "meat and potatoes" kind of person so when you go throwing in new characters for us to play, raising new questions without answering the more important older ones, makes it all unfamiliar and risked making the story hungry fans not enjoy it so much, I don't know about you all, but I was SUPER excited to see how our old crew was going to get off the moon, and stop 935 once and for all, we didn't get the slightest tease to any of that....WHY?! Has Treyarch made good on keeping the fans and still giving a good experience?- I know a few players from W@W that don't play anymore just because of how different the game has become, and I respect those reasons, but a lot of people don't realize you have to do things different or you become stale quickly. That being said, I feel like a lot of the additions to BO2 fell short, character story, character design, and quotes didn't meet my expectations, but it was balanced by the fact I got to play new zombies, and the maps were not all bad. What was the worst DLC?- I will answer this question based on zombies only, the DLCs were all good in terms of either zombie or multiplayer maps. But I will have to say that Buried was, for lack of a better word, lazy. Most of you know the two or three camping spots in the map, and I'm sure you've heard the whole "well you don't HAVE to play the map that way" but what's the point of going against the grain? I strongly believe that the map was intended for the people whining the games maps were too hard, too big, wunder weapons being bad ect ect... They stuck that map in there so I guess everyone had a chance at a pretty rank logo Don't ever put a infinite ammo weapon in zombies again PLEASE.....unless it's the so very fun, but so very useless flame thrower lol What was the best DLC?- Again I'll answer zombie maps, and this one is a lot harder. I have to go with Origins just because it's still newer and fresh compared to my other answer, MOTD. I loved the look of both of them, I enjoyed the models of zombies for MOTD more, but enjoyed the atmosphere of Origins, I also prefer Origins EE even though I havn't done it, the steps are more fun and the pay off is better. Wunderfizz is awesome, I'm sure nobody could argue with that, the weapons were ok, I actually liked the blundergat better than the MG08, I also enjoyed the PaP skins for MOTD better. Besides, I've wanted to play the old crew since the game came out, and while it technically may not be the players we were used to (Dempsy wasn't much different) I still got to play them and that's good enough. One thing I'll add that I would love to see implemented to all maps, on MOTD if you start a solo custom game, or a strictly solo game, the character acknowledge they are alone, calling out to the other players and when noticing they are on their own, give a small pep talk...I don't know why but I loved that so much lol How did the VAs and Music do?- Tranzit had bad music Die Rise was a little better, I activate it most times I play the map MOTD music was great I thought, it fit the period and the look of the map, and of course Rusty Cage was good too, what was best was the random BGM that would activate, just so depressing and hopeless I loved it, it reminded me of Nachts EE song in terms of feel not sound. What was the most innovative thing you have seen to freshen up zombies?- It sure wasn't buildable items. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate them, but if they left them out of the next game you wouldn't hear me complaining. What I thought was the best thing to freshen up zombies is what it always has been, weapons and perks. I thought they did a really great job on the weapons, changing them from the multiplayer stats like they usually do cannot be easy to balance, they've always done a great job with that. Jet gun aside, the wonder weapons were all lots of fun to use, some of them since have become not so fun for me, but that still doesn't take away from the fact they are very useful and excluding Buried WW, they were not over powered. The perks, I thought were great too. They always think in terms of how a perk will benefit the player on that map, on Tranzit I buy tombstone every time, because nobody wants to risk their life for you if you are like me and run in strange places (my favorite being Nacht, but you are very much on your own out there) Who's who wasn't great, but I can think of a few times that perk kept our matches going instead of ending because of stupidity lol it's probably my least favorite of the new ones, but still great. Don't get me started on electric cherry, they should pull a mule kick and put that perk in every map...it's so great...
  8. These days, I don't play solo much at all. Actually, the last time I played solo was a few days after Buried was released for PS3, I suicided on round 60 and it overall burned me out on solo, and the map itself to this day. Mostly, if I play solo, I quit because someone has logged on and I want to play with them, so I don't bother attempting high solo rounds anymore, I'm pretty pleased with the rounds I've done anyway. I don't even play public, maybe 3-5 times since the game was released I have tried to do a public match, and they always end with me being angry from anything to attitudes to people leaving/trolling the game. I've done custom zombies about 95% of BO2 game play, with a few friends that I've played with since BO1, occasionally we have a 4th player, but we just do custom because we don't want to fuss with the hassles of getting a 3 person team to register on leaderboards. I used to play nothing but solo when W@W and early BO1 days, but I strongly believe that if I had not picked up multiplayer, the game wouldn't have held my interest this long. That being said, I don't enjoy maps catered to multiplayers for easter eggs, and sometimes the size of the maps make it annoying to do tasks alone, while trying to keep zombies from magically dying. For me, solo zombies on BO2 doesn't hold so well, except maybe MOTD. The expanded size of maps, and the sometimes daunting tasks that require 3-4 players can sometimes make the solo player feel left out and that plays a big part on my answer to this question.
  9. Yea sadly, those lobbys are almost always hacked. At least in my experience, there were constant air support from one player (one would leave and another enter almost instantly) so there were attack copters everywhere spawn killing... You should still buy it though, a hard copy in a collection is a must. If you are doing digital (not even sure you can get it digital but who knows) then I would pass on it. I still have my 360 copy even though the console died, was the COD that got me into multiplayer and of course hooked me with the then, new over the top cut scenes. I hear there are still some really cool mods for game modes out there if you are buying for a PC.
  10. Well I certainly like the size, I'm blind as heck so the bigger the better! lol Wish I had the time to learn how to do these, I have reasonable photoshop and illustrator skills but way too busy for this project, I'll be looking forward to seeing what is chosen though.
  11. A friend found earlier this week that you only have to delete the CALLOFDUTY-INSTALL file on your PS3 game data utility (not the one that says save, if it says save anywhere in the name don't delete it) I had been putting off the reinstall for a few weeks, all I did was delete the install data and it worked fine, to my knowledge it didn't even make me redownload the installer.
  12. I didn't want to make a new topic for such a straight answer so I'll ask here, I seem to be overlooking, or can't find the CODZ Olympics that we were supposed to do this month, I assumed it had been pushed back again due to maintenance but has it been removed? Was looking forward to stacking my skills in friendly competition with CODZ.
  13. I like it, just a little flash but not too much, it's good. Just glad it's back!
  14. I found the lava pools after Diner and the ones after Town to be crossable without juggernog, by finding the nooks that you could get a extra jump in without burning yourself, granted you kill the denizen before you jump. It was quite some time after I heard people talking about finding it. Found that you don't have to turn around to kill a denizen with the Knuckles, or the bowie knife, there is a hit box (I assume from it's hand) that you can knife right before he clings to you, basically you can just run or sprint without taking the time to turn around and knife, which usually disoriented me in the beginning, you just have to time it to the screech once you do it a few times, it gets pretty easy to nail if you play the map on a regular basis. Was the first, to my knowledge to catch the Sketchers reference on the bottom of Stulingers shoe, I think it says Skeetchers or Screechers. When Kino was the only map out for BO, I accidently learned to keep a claymore in the PaP room in case you bleed out, it restocks your claymores without spending the points. Not sure if it was known or not, it was around the time I became active in the community. My ex girlfriend, and avid hater of BO zombies (hence the "ex") deciphered the chalk board in Kino (I think it's the same on Der Riese too) as she was a graduate in engineering physics, it didn't make much sense but I gave it to BlackOpsTiger and was pretty cool to see it get used...I can't even remember what it all meant anymore. I think I was the first person to know who McNamara was It's not a "first of", but I remember crying for years about being able to either pick up crawlers, or drag them with you then Buried finally comes out and implemented the feature, I know it's far fetched but I like to think they saw my cries and got the idea from the forums 8-)
  15. I appreciate any game data, in any form so if you don't mind posting then I'd like to look it over. I would also like to see the difference in the staff replicas of Origins, I'm pretty sure the electric one beats all but I just like to see the stats, I miss when you could get a cool guide in the game store and they would have lists like these for weapons or creatures damage and such, was really helpful in the final fantasy games and it's just cool to be a know it all and spat out stats of weapons/mobs. I used to be able to count and remember the frames in Tekken 3 as to what beats what in each character, I was a pretty proud dork back then :geek:
  16. Jet gun best in game....or best in Tranzit? I can never use that cursed weapon, I wasn't surprised to see the Remington so high on the list, totally underestimated weapon. I know it's been awhile, but you should add the Remington is obtainable in Origins, as well as the LSAT obtainable in Buried. Overall, liked the post a lot, I remember you asking Binsys to complete an accurate list so hopefully we'll be seeing that early next year.
  17. In my experience most online games that keep track of wins and loses, count disconnection as a loss, I have never agreed with it, but it seems to be the "go to" response for a game ending before there are winners.
  18. I don't see any relevance to a easter egg unless the turbines are all stopping at the same spot, it's interesting they can clip through the map but if they are just sporadic then I would just say it's a bug that needs patched, still funny though.
  19. I would say most people that don't like the map, just don't like to use Tombstone. The sole purpose of that perks invention was to compensate for the overall size of the map, it's way bigger than COTD and on opposite ends of the that map, it's nearly impossible to get a revive, so image trying on Tranzit, without the pure luck of being teleported next to a downed teammate, you are going to bleed out unless you stick together, which is a death trap in itself. It's one of the first maps that pushes you to watch your own back, usually I am in the corn fields by myself and am well aware if I go down then that's all for me. All it takes is a friendly player to start the next round wherever you have bled out and you don't have to run around the map collecting perks, it's all there ready to go with the exception of Tombstone. People didn't enjoy the fog, they saw the space available and were upset that denizens kept those spots from being trainable, you all say Buried is easy, just imagine having no denizens on Tranzit. Those long roads are the equivalent of the open areas in the Biodome of Moon, way too wasy. Another thing, and the only one I agree with is the "wunder weapon" was a total flop, just another Shangri La WW in the sense that it's only there for the easter egg, and holds little power compared to the other WWs. It breaks, sometimes the pieces reset after falling out of the map when it breaks (why not just clip them to say IN the map?) The jetgun is a death trap in town, doing nothing but sucking zombies on fire into you to explode giving you splash damage (my first experience with this weapon) Lastly, people were upset that the easter egg was too easy, and overall let down by the nav cards, they were built up too much in mystery just to have them be a plan B that never comes to be. Also the maps song was our first time without Elena singing(excluding Nacht and COTD) so it took a really long time for most of us to appreciate the music again. We were so into Moon, and the evolution of the maps that it was a little bit of a let down to see Tranzit, even though it captured perfectly the feel of a dying planet, it strayed almost too far from the original zombie feel, we lost our old characters, we lost our Elena, and started on a new story path when we were expecting answers from the previous maps. I also remember the promise of players getting to create maps within Tranzits map, which turned out to be a premade survival mode that also fell short.
  20. I got it on Origins once, but really in my opinion, it's just better to PaP your starting pistol into the Boomhilda, it's like the mark two but single fire. In terms of damage I don't know how similar, but I feel just as safe with Boomhilda as I do with a M2.
  21. Depends on what map, if it's buried I usually die just from doing other things while I play, I can stand in one spot and shoot infinite energy, like all of us do or have done, so I check my facebook on my phone...or eat a sammich and die In most other maps, recently my downs seems to be from talking about topics, if I get into the conversation I kind of lose my awareness and do things I'm not thinking about doing, kind of like when I'm on the phone and pick something up and put it somewhere else, not realizing I moved it. I will be talking and just come over to where you're running and bring my whole group of zombies with me, that's happened a few times...
  22. Origins for sure, visually appealing, lots of side stuff to do, if you want. Plenty of new weapons, chocked full of story, and I get to hear my old characters again. I can get a lot further in other maps, but it's origins that holds the most enjoyment for me, I still space out looking at those giant robots coming towards me, I really hope future maps go for these kinds of epic backgrounds. Would love to see a map like tranzit in mid chaos as zombies run through a populated area outside the map.
  23. I'll have to go look up that tweet, I had a twitter account a long time ago but I forgot the password, any chance I could get a link to that so I may look? MMX, you definitely have the story on lock down, this was my attempt to take a different approach to what everyone is thinking, some times I think this theory is right, sometimes I don't. That's the best part about this cliffhanger, it can literally go in any direction it wants to, when we blew up the earth we didn't know what to expect, other than a destroyed earth, but at least we had SOMETHING to expect. @ Fated- I really like your ideas on saying the heroes are already here and fighting to keep us from dying out. But the fact there are sirens at the end, and that the kids say they wish they were real might disprove that. Unless they are saying "real" as in, they wish their toys were the heroes that are already real. There are just so many questions! I really hope the next black ops sweeps up all the questions and just gives us answers, that way we can move forward in new questions to stress over
  24. Maaan verruct looks so cool at night, it was creepy enough during the day. Cyborgs don't look as good as zombies, but they still look really good.
  25. Very strange that this would happen to me, and the two other players in my team. None of us can play the map, for atleast the last two weeks. Guess I'll have to redownload all the maps again...but why do I have to do all of them, can I not just delete the pack with MOTD in it and re install it?
