http://callofduty.wikia.com/wiki/Shanghai?file=Shangai.jpg http://callofduty.wikia.com/wiki/Shanghai?file=Shangai_Die_Rise_Zombies_BOII.jpg And that's where you're wrong. If Die Rise where to be in 2025, I'm pretty sure it would've looked futuristic. 3Arch, as anyone should know by now, reuses texture files and other things just so that they don't have to create new ones. Also the SDC isn't the new government, its a East Asian Chinese-led strategic military alliance. http://callofduty.wikia.com/wiki/Strategic_Defense_Coalition Next time, try to get your info correct. I wouldn't quote the CoD wiki if you're looking for a reliable source of info. I literally could go in there and write what I think is accurate, even if it's wrong. And really, there is no need to be a stickler on info like that. The SDC obviously isn't around now, and they were big in the future, so we can safely assume that these logos were put down in/around 2025. And no one said the buildings themselves need to be futuristic. The Rockefeller Center in NYC has been around for over 70 years. Those 80-something story buildings in Die Rise could've been built around now and still be standing in 2025. We see examples of this in-game also. In Game (2025) Real Life Please stop directly targeting MMX's posts. Just because you disagree with a few of his statements doesn't mean you need to discredit every post. Your last statement made the entire post come off like you were trying specifically to make him look bad. I say this because 7/12 of your current posts do this as well directly to MMX. I get that you're new to the site and you want to jump right into things, but don't start by making enemies. As Infest would say, we're all friendos here. Just try to get your disagreement across in a nicer fashion.

Hmm. One place I'd give you for a train attempt is the citadel tunnels. If you run the entire thing it isn't impossible, but it is easy to get caught on edges or get caught up in a zombies spawn. It's almost like NML while the zombies spawn in.

I think that the biggest thing the Zombies team does with maps is: -Find a good location relating to various conspiracies. (E.X. Area 51, the Moon, Shangri La, Der Riese.) -Put clues in the maps relating to those conspiracies. (The Henge at Der Riese, A 51 teleporter.) -Put more random conspiracies in, and push the idea that they may relate. (E.X. The Vril Ya and controlling the Zombies.) -Give us objects that do something, but we don't know what yet. (Golden Rod, NAVcards.) -Let us guess what all it means, take the most epic guesses, save them for future maps, and repeat. I honestly think 3arc has some guidelines they go by that have been planned, but a lot of it is from us. They may know the Beginning, Climax, and Resolution of the zombies story, but we fill in the Rising and Falling Action.

O4 vs. N4, and is the New Crew soon done?
bagel_ replied to bagel_'s topic in Research & Development
@TAMB I agree with you, I don't think we should lose the N4 so suddenly at Die Rise. I'd like to see at least one more map with them, and maybe at the end of the Easter Egg, the characters are overrun or something. As per having them coexist in one map, that's an interesting idea. Maybe Marlton and Misty are paired with Nikolai and Dempsey, and Russ/Stu with RichtoSam/Takeo. That'd be pretty dang cool! @Mocking Me I absolutely love that idea. Perhaps the story map would be to close off the N4, and the Survival map would bridge that gap between the O4 getting from the Moon back to Earth. Maybe they are on the temple from Shangri La that was transported from Mars to the Moon, and eventually land on Earth. While there, clues about the final DLC are around the area you landed. Let's say in Paris or something. When they get there, they hear Maxis explain the situation with the N4 and their fate, and the same will happen to them if they don't follow Maxis. The DLC 4 story map is in Paris, and we have our epic conclusion to Zombies. The next survival maps allow you to choose which cast of characters to use, so they're non canon, and use new audio quotes. Grief can be in Der Riese for the Nostalgia, and the turned game will be the actual fate of the N4. -
Whaddup guys, So a few days before CoDz went down, there were quite a few interesting (and pretty revealing) tweets from David Vonderhaar, the lead game designer for BO2, and Jimmy Zielinski, a lead designer for Zombies, about upcoming DLC. (Ermahgerd those last names.) They weren't those typical cryptic ones they usually give out, either. They were straight up giving out info about it. Here's the main ones that should be looked at: 1. Jimmy and his Brother (maybe.) First off, I really don't know if this guy is really Jimmy's brother or if it's just a joke or something, but that's unimportant. Jimmy's reply made me do a double take. Austin asked if we were going back to the Moon, and Jimmy pretty much said "No. We're going by the Moon." I'm assuming this isn't a troll to say "The Earth is by the Moon. Therefore, we went by the Moon." So, I'm thinking this is a huge clue that we're leaving Earth for the next DLC. Maybe we shall be on a space shuttle. We are in the future now. Or maybe a meteor, like Mocking Me's old idea. Or perhaps Mars. It'd be cool to see if they drop any hints about Shangri La while we're there. One thing seems pretty clear with this tweet, though. We are leaving our planet once again. 2. David V and the Community (continues on bottom tweet.) For those of you unfamiliar with Twitter, he basically quoted everything other people were saying after he tweeted this. So, David's pretty much saying that he wants the O4 back, but it's not been authorized to kill the N4 off. That most likely means that he proposed the idea to the Zombies team. To show the community's support, he retweeted other people to say that we also want the O4 back. Also, he directly stated that we shall choose the fate of the N4. I don't know if he means that the community's opinion shall decide the outcome of the story, or perhaps we will actually make an in-game choice that will decide their fate. I like #2 a lot, but I doubt we'd see this in the next DLC. Info on the next DLC is coming late, and we should expect to hear something soon. Maybe next week, considering we had E3 going on this week, and perhaps some questions will be answered. But with new DLC, 3arc has a tendency to make more questions instead of answering others. Also, we are being faced with a choice. Would you rather see the N4 in upcoming DLC, or have the O4 back? (Poll is up ^there^) bagel_, out.

I think it's boardable because technically, you can stand right on the edge of the fall into Town, and your in a playable (and pretty camp-able) zone, unattacked by Denizens. Why not make the area a mini, stand alone zone?

One thing I'd like to point out about this is that the dot is awfully close to the GG bridge. It's not a large light far away, its a small one that's close enough to the point that if you ADS on it and walk sideways, you can see it move to the side against the backdrop of clouds. I wish I could video tape what I mean and show you guys what I mean. The reason I think it's more than a glitch is because it wasn't patched with the major MotD update we had a few weeks ago.

Many myths state that the city of Shangri La is somewhere in the Himalayas. Assuming that it is, (sorry GRILL, this research was ignoring the Shared Mountain Theory because of my laziness.) and that you're right about Brock and Gary being there in 2009, we can narrow down a few exact dates where Brock and Gary may've been in Shangri La because of the Solar Eclipse. There were only two Solar Eclipses in 2009, and both were visible in Asia. However, only one of them was an almost total blackout, and it was directly over the Himalayas. This eclipse occurred on July 22, 2009. With this in mind, we can safely say that Brock and Gary bought a few month old Japanese radios, and died in Shangri La on July 22, 2009. It doesn't help the timing of the events of the O4, but it does of Brock and Gary. Hope that helped :)

3rd DLC Wonder Weapon Speculation-Pattern of Wonder Weapons?
bagel_ replied to Novera's topic in Research & Development
Could you add a description under the video summarizing the content of it? That would be very helpful. Going with your theory, I think that we may see a Wonder Weapon that delivers splash damage. Treyarch had trouble adding in window boards in MotD to avoid game crashes. If the next map is as detailed as MotD, then the Baby Gun would be extremely hard to put in to avoid game crashes. I think we may see a gun almost like the Ray Gun, killing zombies in a close proximity quickly with a high fire rate and a lot of reserve ammo. It would have to do more damage than the Ray Gun, and look different. -
I'm going for a WR on Town right now. (Failed at 34 at Farm, perfect. I started spacing out and made a few simple mistakes. I felt like using PaP'd guns would make the rounds pass faster, and frankly I'm too sick of Farm to return right now ) Anyway, I'm currently at 30, with the game paused, and it took me an hour and a half. I used to be one of those people that go to a little over 20 and say "Hey, this is easy." Well, past it turns into a mental game. In my past MotD round 40, I felt it a lot. I got downed from talking to a friend in an XBL Party from lack of focus. I got downed shortly after from not being prepared for the hoard after a bathroom break. The spawn rate increase is pretty intimidating. So if you think 50+ is going to be easy by running trains, you are very wrong. The stretch in round length only makes it harder. If you're feeling determined to go far, just know what you're getting yourself into.

Nice work, headshot! I'm more than likely going to follow this guide on a MotD run tomorrow. It's seems flawless. :)

Why Alcatraz is happening :: Doctor Who :: ALL 100% FACT.
bagel_ replied to TBGxRyan's topic in Mob of the Dead
I think of it more like this: What was supposed to happen: -The escape plan was supposed to fail. Al would be murdered for this. However, he would not be sent to hell. He hadn't been that bad of a person. -Sal, Finn, and Billy would be killed by Electric Chair and sent to Hell. -Fergusson would survive to tell the story. BUT, somehow, the outcome was altered. Someone had to go back in time and make the plan work by having Fergusson get murdered. How it changed: -As soon as Fergusson was murdered, shit hit the fan. The outcome was altered by him not living to tell his story, and Sal, Finn, and Billy not being sent to Hell. So, Fergusson's corpse is "Satanized" and he becomes a red eyed creature. Other red eyed creatures appear as well. -Weasel still wouldn't be sent to hell. He was honestly sorry for his sins. So, Lucifer gave Weasel a purgatory of sorts. He allowed Weasel to keep his memory every time he died and was resurrected. He had the chance to make progress. -Sal, Finn, and Billy, however, still were condemned to Hell. For this, their memories are wiped every time they die, making it hard to make progress. How it's fixed: -Once everyone is at the Golden Gate, Lucifer allows Weasel a chance to break their cycle and ultimately send Sal, Finn, and Billy to Hell. That's the reason we have this rift, and this honestly would benefit both Weasel and Lucifer. While the condemned 3 are evading the creatures, Weasel kills them, and the red eyed creatures disappear. The debt is paid. Satan now has the souls he needs. The reason Weasel was allowed to survive is because he didn't belong in Hell. So, this leaves us with one final question. Who or what went back in time to alter the outcome of the original failed escape plan? -
Well 666 is Lucifer's number for one thing. That's been heavily incorporated for MotD. I think all these sixes are foreshadowing that Lucifer/Devil has ben in Zombies this whole time. Remember that quote from Samantha from Moon? "The blackness will swallow your soul! There's something way worse than you in there Richtofen!" I think this means he's been in the MPD that whole time. And I have no doubt we'll see him again in BO2.

Is Grief & Turned still affecting rank?
bagel_ replied to DeathBringerZen's topic in General Zombies Discussion
tally's and eyes are NOT rank... just an indication of how often you've played recently. I've had some terrible grief games recently and havent ranked down... idk but i think its true that only survival/tranzit mode affects ranking (might explain why i am at skull and knife rank even though my k/d overall ratio is 69 Forgive me if I'm mistaken, but don't you need Blue Eyes to up from Skull - Knife or Knife - Shotguns? If so, it technically would be considered rank because it's a perquisite to leveling up. I'm not sure if you do or not, but I've heard you need them. -
I'll test it in MotD and get back to you tomorrow. It's perfect sense Speed is literally right next to a window.

Thank you so much! I've checked out the leaderboards, and the maps Farm, Town, Bus Depot, and NTZ all have Top Ten records starting in the 50's/early 60's, so I'm going to try and focus on getting records (or at least high rounds) on them. I like the idea of having only a few doors to open. It takes much less time to get all your perks/weapons together. The 10th place WR for Farm is Round 56. If you were to go 7 more rounds, you'd be on those leaderboards as well. Just out of curiosity, how long did it take you to reach 50? I'd imagine it'd take longer without PaP'd weapons. @TheBSZombie I saw the video today. It looks like a pretty good strategy. Being a noob at high rounds, I've never even taken spawn control into account.

Is Grief & Turned still affecting rank?
bagel_ replied to DeathBringerZen's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Yes, so would playing turned. I believe the slashes/eye color is effected by simply opening anything playable in zombies. I started a game in Bus Depot with 2 slashes, got QR, downed, and got Persis-Jug. When I went back to the main menu, I had 3 slashes. I'd assume it doesn't effect rank. As Turned makes it inanely hard to not be downed, Greif is somewhat hard as well. Other players could really mess you up sometimes. -
There's a really easy spawn control strategy on Farm... Really? Where could I find it? There is literally no posts in the Farm thread under the strategy portion of the forum. I've struggled to find an easy area to train here, but I'd assume the highest rounds on Farm would be a bit lower than other maps, which would give me a better chance to get on the leaderboards if I had a decent strategy. EDIT: Scratch that. I checked your Youtube channel to see if you had a strategy up, and it looks like you do. :D

A line from Richthofen in an upcoming map?
bagel_ replied to BEYOND's topic in Research & Development
I wish this line was more revealing, rather than saying "Work together." All Easter Eggs require that  Perhaps it was a joke @ the zombies department on working on DLC. Nice catch! -
Fastest Way to Get the Hells Retriever - Round 2
bagel_ replied to Stuckdizzle's topic in Mob of the Dead
Drops are point based, and you get your first drop at roughly 2500 points. With this in mind, would it be better to just fire 2 shots to the head or knife? Knifing = Unlimited kills but 130 per kill, and Shooting = (I think 90 or 100?) per kill. But this means you are going to have less points, which are needed to open the doors. EDIT: I forgot to say great job on this guide. It's very helpful if you want to get the Redeemer safely, and you won't have to worry about wasting money on guns in the low rounds. Instead, you can open as many doors as your heart desires. -
I agree with Tatoo. The solution really is to play multiple games with any randoms. These games may suck, I know, but try to tough it out. Add the randoms you like, and message them saying play with them again. Now they're not randoms, but partners for high rounds.

I wouldn't have thought that was the Eiffel Tower. The only question I have is why it's so wispy and ghosty. Look at the cloudy thing around his hand in the second picture. Is it the Eiffel Tower, or just a shape made from this fog? I'm leaning more on Eiffel Tower. The demand has been extremely high for Paris. Speaking of which, I remember thinking this in the MW3 campaign while going through the catacombs: "Now this would be a sick zombies map." Don't you agree?
-
Round 50 with PaP'd weapons sounds hard enough on town. But Farm? Forget it. I've only hit 37 on Town, and that was pretty dang difficult, even with the easily trainable areas. Someone should come up with a strategy for Farm, utilizing lava or the MP5.

Why so much HATE towards shotgun rank?
bagel_ replied to Murdah4Hire's topic in General Zombies Discussion
I agree entirely with MMX's first statement. I guess you could call it stereotyping, but almost every game I get a shotgun rank, my head just keeps going "back out. It won't be fun. He'll boss you around." The guys with shottys tend to back out if they're about to get downed, or if the half/majority of the team goes down. They also tend to talk down to others, or attempt to explain the ranking system to their perception without anyone asking as a way to brag. Though there are many exceptions, probably like the OP, guys with shottys want to keep their rank, and to their credit, I can't necessarily blame them. @Stop mocking me Very cool idea! Maybe also have a system for zombie prestige which restarts your rank and leaves a permanent crack on the skulls. You could have the option to use it if you a specific amount of time played in zombies, say like a day total or two in matches. -
Very cool catch, and it does make some sense relating to zombies, considering the whole Shangri La connection to Mars. However, you could order them any way you want to. Abigal Russman Marlton Samuel ARMS Our characters act like Arms for Maxis/Richtofen. or Russman Abigal Marlton Samuel RAMS I got nothin' for this. Maybe Rams in Dead Ops Arcade. But that's just a ridiculous stretch. I'd like to say it's a lead, but we don't really have any way to order our characters like it was in BO pre-Moon, so I'd say coincidence. If we here any more connections to Mars in Zombies, I'd probably suspect a little more than just coincidence.
