Pretty cool...Would like to try this out. How many melee kills are needed? What did you do to get melee kills at that level?

Calendars in Die Rise mark Moon's time period?
ETEl2NAL407 replied to JuggerWicho's topic in Die Rise
Problem with this is that the N4 are humans and would have typical human pre-conditioning as far as perceptual habits are concerned. One major condition we have as observers is the linear flow of time. Time doesn't actually exist, we create it. The phrase, "Time flies when you're having fun." is a great example of this, because as your perception is not focused on the passing of time, but instead of enjoying your activity, time seems to pass much quicker. It's because you were not consciously aware time was passing, so you fail to account for the passing of time...You suddenly "forget" your preconditioing. If the N4 were present, there are observers present, and they would have created a linear timeline during GR and GLF. How that timeline correlates to other timelines at different maps is the question and can only be deduced by comparing historical events. -
115 Officially Discovered 8/27
ETEl2NAL407 replied to o ZiploK's topic in General Zombies Discussion
This is just a little too coincidental... Treyarch, the Illuminati, 115, plans to create Zombie armies, and all of us: unknowing test subjects undergoing virtual training. My inner Stuhlinger is coming out. -
The OG Ray Gun works well and any high-powered, fast rate of fire assault rifle/LMG (HAMR, MG08, Galil) will take him down but eats through clips fast. He's an asshat, there's no better way to explain it. What I hate most is how he always catches me by surprise.

best ways to troll them back!!!
ETEl2NAL407 replied to R102609's topic in General Zombies Discussion
The best revenge is living a good life. I never encounter trolls b/c if I play with randoms, I go my own way. Usually, I'm training on my own either at the Diner, the Tunnel, Sushi bar, Courthouse, etc.. and I often just see them go down. I will attempt to revive them, unless they're being obnoxious or otherwise not listening to me. I like to troll people by booby trapping entrances with Tramplsteams or positioning them to fling teammates to their death, putting the hatch on the bus and denying access to G-knucks, if you can train at tranzit power you can continually keep the power off, just run in the mansion without warning and stay in there until everyone loses their money... -

"One possible view of how the zombies came to be" -Vahn
ETEl2NAL407 replied to FatedTitan's topic in Origins
Prior to Origins trailer, I had thought the zombies were created by accident when 935 was experimenting with the MDT. Teleported Nazi Soldiers were coming back zombiefied and Richtofen talked about how they had insatiable hunger and were attacking everyone. Perhaps the radios that explain what we thought the actual origins were are actually cover-ups? I'm thinking if that's the case, it means something happens at Origins that would require a cover-up, something heinous, something very dark. Who's to say? I don't want to read too much into this quote from Vahn, but honestly...with all the holes in the story thus far, alternate realities/timelines would be a pretty quick way to clog all those holes. It's just not very creative. I'm pulling for you Treyarch. You can make this work without succumbing to alternate realities and/or paradoxical time-travel, but you have to use your brain! It's your puzzle, just make pieces that fit it together! -
No 150G achievement? Well, wtf? I was sure we'd get another giant achievement like we did for Moon... As for the zombie blood...Power-up seems to work better in theory, as it gives us the good stuff from Vulture-Aid without being OP. However, if it were a perk, perhaps it's a fairly cheap perk (1500 Max) and once you purchase it it shows on the HUD as unlit (like having the perks without power on) until you kill a certain number of Zombies and it slowly fills up, pixel by pixel until it's completely lit. Once that happens, maybe it will animate on the HUD like V-Aid did when you were in the green mist to indicate it's active. During this time you are invisible and can revive, run away, grab a weapon, etc.. Once the timer runs up (60-90 seconds?) the perk goes away and you'd have to re-purchase it. That would make it non-OP as a perk.

Letters from the Field - Photos & Videos from Pre-Origins
ETEl2NAL407 replied to GRILL's topic in Origins
I'm theorizing that Samantha is not the little girl we thought her to be. I think she is either some orphan of the war that was possessed by a demon, or is the incarnation of a demon fully. I think she's been playing on Maxis' loneliness and/or his desire to have a family. She makes suggestions to him that lead his focus away from the technical and scientific methodology of his mission with 935. Richtofen makes mention of this in his most recent letter. Why would this little girl (Samantha) do this? Simply to drive a wedge between Maxis and Richtofen and distort their capability. If they were chosen by 935 to undertake these highly secret missions with profound possibilities to advance human technology, they must have been geniuses in their respective fields. Since two minds are better than one, with them both focused and collaborating effectively they would have definitely succeeded. Samantha may have her own agenda and wishes for their failure, thus, she creates a rift between the two geniuses. In these letters from Richtofen, we only see him beginning to doubt Maxis. Compare that to the way he seems to completely discount Maxis later on (circa BO:2 TranZit) and even become angry when the N4 follow his instrcutions. There seems to have been a progression of Richtofen slowly losing respect for the gifted mind of Maxis. Samantha's influence has corrupted Maxis. As a result, Richtofen (being the ruthless man he is) tries to rid them both of this influence. He tries to teleport Samantha away. Keep in mind, prior to him doing that their experiements with putting soldiers into the MDT resulted in zombies coming back. So, it was more than likely Richtofen's hope that Samantha would suffer the same fate. Unfortunately, this may have been Samantha's ultimate goal. Play the two sides against each other until the murderous intent of Richtofen came to the surface and he acted. Perhaps the mystical power of Samantha was able to manipulate the power of MDT instead of just coming back as a zombie. It's a bit of a complicated theory, but if Samantha were possessed or otherwise supernatural in essence, this could explain her presence "before her time", as well as why the rift between Maxis and Richtofen exists. -
Letters from the Field - Photos & Videos from Pre-Origins
ETEl2NAL407 replied to GRILL's topic in Origins
This makes a bit more sense now... Samantha was not born to Maxis. She was adopted. Samantha is probably some succubus trying to interfere with Richtofen and Maxis, she plays Maxis for a fool, but Richtofen also as when he thinks he's killing her, he is actually helping her become more powerful by sending her into the Aether. -
4 gun mule kick, perma fire sale? That's prety awesome, if you ask me. So far, we know there will be 4 different elemental staves in the Origins. I am thinking this will mean Origins will be the first ever zombie map that will allow all 4 players to have a WW simultaneously. That is awesome. Digging up weapons? I imagine that will be a lot like the chalk drawings...Also awesome. I really don't care if my theories are disproven. The fact that Samantha is part of this EE boggles me because of the timeframe for this map, but this map should be lots of fun and that's all that really matters.

They don't recognize each other. They are all, except Richtofen, being dispatched from their native country to investigate reports of strange goings on at this site. Furthermore, all but Tank are reported to have officially cut ties with their home nation, so they're more or less on their own. When the cutscene introduces them, they're all fighting their way into the structures. Once they arrive, they encounter each other and they all are very clearly respective to their home nation. Nikolai looks Russian, Takeo looks Japanese, and Tank looks American. They all draw down on each other, but since they've just been fighting zombies, they're not immediately pulling their triggers when an actual human is in the sights. Until Tank notices Richtofen and what he's doing. If I were Tank, or Nikolai, or Takeo and I were fighting zombies, then I happen upon some German with a corpse bound to a table that has its head split open and see all the blood on this guy's hands. I'd think he probably has something to do with these zombies. Maybe he's created them, maybe he knows who did. Whatever the case, that guy has some explaining to do. This is why Tank starts to approach Richtofen and Nikolai and Takeo, once given a chance to see Richtofen for themselves, follow suit. Of course, before they can interrogate him some Giant robot tries to smash them all to tiny bits. End of cutscene, end of what we know so far. I am thinking the outbreak didn't ocurr until the soldiers broke open that crypt/tomb and released the Templar zombies. The templar zombies infected the soldiers and this started the chain reaction of the outbreak. Richtofen was at this site before the other 3 characters and I think he's been researching and doing experiments on soldiers or other workers at the site that more than likely began to experience side effects by being exposed to the meteor/115. He's probably dissecting one such subject while the outbreak begins and in the middle of this procedure is when the other 3 happen upon him.

+1. The campaign team made this map, right? They know how to make achievement hunting fun (not like those bullshit turned achievements that are nigh on impossible to get. Or at least one). Oh god that one where you get a kill with every weapon. That one is impossible. Definitely not impossible... Click here to see how I did it. Basically, you just play with people you know or play enough to get an insta-kill for the last gun (M1911).

ETEl2NAL407 replied to GRILL's topic in Origins
That would be my guess. Elemental Staffs? Maybe Fire, Water, Earth, and Air? An Elemental addition to zombies is mind blowing because it could very well be a better way to describe the eye color. Fire=Red, Water=Blue, Earth=Yellow/Orange, Air=Purple Who knows at this point. Treyarch is no longer throwing curveballs, these are fracking knuckleballs. -

Damnit! Release Samantha?! How is she possibly here Treyarch?!?! WHYYYYY?!?!?!  :?  -
I agree with your reasoning, but I would tend more towards saying that cryogenics is more likely because it's a simpler technology to imagine, after all, we can already put things into cryogenic sleep (perhaps not sophisticated enough for a living human) whereas travelling time instantly is only a dream. Sure once time-travel were invented, it's possible it could be done with the push of a button, but it definitely doesn't simplify things story-wise because if one can travel forward so easily with a technology that can't be proven with comparable evidence in the real world, it must be assumed that our ficitonal technology will work just as easily to go back in time. With that in mind, going back in time creates the possibility of paradoxes and really complicates things. Just because of these complications, I'd sooner adopt a set of circumstances without time-travel.
-
That only works going forward. So it's a bit more limited than time travel. We're only assuming per the timeframes that there was a leap forward in time. So, the evidence (if used as a root for speculation) would only lead us to believe there was a move forward. Being that we have other beings seemingly suspended in some form of cryogenic sleep (canisters in Kino) would suggest to me that is a higher possibility than time travel. The only direct evidence we have of time travel is through loading screen images of a teleporter and years going up to indicate they've moved through these years. Those years are going forward, by the way. Shooter's right, though...There's an awful lot of backstory for each character to have had it all ocurr before Origins and Treyarch has lots of explaining to do chronologically.
-
Time-travel... Cryogenic sleep would accomplish the same end. During a cryogenic sleep, the aging process is slowed considerably. If you put yourself into cryogenic sleep now and woke up in 20 years, you would not have aged 20 years, maybe only a tenth of that, if not less. If they're fast forwarding time, they don't necessarily have to travel there. They could just freeze their bodies and wake up at a later time. Does anyone even read my posts?

It would be inside the ground, yes? Or at least in some forum underneath the ground from the ruins, kind of like a transport pump system. I don't know, really. I never thought 115 was an airborne compound. Most elements we know of are not airborne naturally. Pure 115 would have to be a gas like Helium to be extracted with a pump like that. More evidence supports that they were pumping the underground chambers with a weaponized gas of some sort, mustard gas was a widely used gas for military purposes during those times. When the soldiers are breaking through the first wall, they're all wearing gas masks. So, I think that pump was trying to exterminate any life in the underground chambers with a gas. The other thing that pump resembles is a transport tube, most commonly seen at bank drive-thrus. You know, you pull out the little canister, throw in your ID and the check you want to deposit, stick the canister in the tube and press "send" then it gets sucked into the bank for the teller. These could be gigantic transport tubes too, for sending artifacts back to the surface quickly...

Meh...Time travel didn't have to ocurr. It would make things much easier to digest, but it's not necessary. I can see the O4 all being in their 20's or a bit younger for Origins. This puts them into their late 40's or 50's during WaW. Time travel is already referenced in the loading screens for NDU BO:1 and KDT BO:1. Notice the teleporters and the "moving" years. So, they could have time-travelled forward and remained closer to their 20's or at least not into their 50's, as that starts to become a bit incredulous. Of course, they didn't necessarily have to time-travel. They could have just gone into a cryogenic sleep and suspended aging. As for Samantha, could she not have been born following Origins chronologically? I think so, she may have been born in the 30's or 40's...Her narration does not mean she was at Origins, just that she knows the story. She probably acquired some form of omniscience in the Aether. As for the 115 and aging...I know that cells are not the only thing keeping us alive. Cells communicate with each other and when you die, there is a death signal your cells begin to communicate to all other cells. It's possible to die without having sustained fatal injuries because of this death signal. If 115 can reanimate dead cells and dead bodies, what can it do to living cells? Cells that haven't broadcast that death signal? Well we have evidence to support that it causes mental stress, insanity, etc.. We can assume that it causes longevity and slow the aging process as well, but we have no direct evidence to support that. Regardless, the time frames work out with or without time-travel.
-
I actually theorized that the pumps were being used to fill the underground with a weaponized gas, like mustard gas, to try and stifle any hostility upon sending the troops in. I suppose they could be used for extracting, but what would they be extracting? 115? From this meteor? Is 115 airborne?

That is a Transit Level used to create a map of the dig site and spatial data which records exact locations and heights of specific points. Yeah, I was going to say...Looks like an old-timey land surveying tool. I see guys with these tripod devices on the road all the time before they start tearing out the roads and stuff.
