  1. !?! You really expect us to believe you would cue new sets of lines for the bus driver and NOT continue playing to see this "new route" you claim to be activated? Let me give you the benefit of the doubt here and resign to the thought that you are probably just sharing this "EE step" by what you've heard word of mouth...OK. I don't think this will work, but please refrain from posting ideas like this until you have SOME form of proof. Doesn't need to be a video or a step-by-step guide, but please at least give us details that you experienced this in game. Otherwise, I call BS.
  2. Parking on Floor 74. Methinks this is an obvious nod that GLF is in the future. Flying cars. This could also explain the major evolutionary changes that the Nova 6 > Jumping Jacks have gone through. Perhaps the Rift is a rift in time, where the missiles from Moon struck this side of the planet far later in time than the rest of the globe. Or maybe they only struck one side and the damage to GLF is result a totally different cause.
  3. The only thing I notice is: Wouldn't you get +50 points with a landed shot from M&S? I would think that counts as a frag kill, but I could be wrong. Would also love it if you guys test this as well with frags and semtex. Thanks for testing. You rock!
  4. What I get out of this analogy is that the rank depends on consistent improvements. Say, for example, you have a game with 1000 kills and 1 down. That's a good game. Now, in order to improve rank, you'd want your next game to either match that result or improve it. So, next game you get 2000 kills and 2 downs. Seems the same, right? Well, it is k/d ratio-wise, but it can be argued that it's a better game. I would expect rank to increase if this was your trend. On the flip side to this, say you have the same 1000-1 game, but your next game is 250-4. Obviously, that's a huge difference and much worse. I would expect rank to decrease if this was your trend. Now let's say you have extreme ups and downs (like myself). Maybe you play with randoms a lot, but have a good team ethic and are constantly going down to revive teammates in some games, but have great teammates in other games and you get to high rounds without a single down. I think these trends result in a stagnant rank. No increase, no decrease. So, I think the rank symbols depend on either consistent improvements to gain knife/shotties, consistent fails to drop in rank, but ups and downs result in stagnance. I don't think it has anything to do with reaching a career statistic milestone, but all to do with the statistical difference from game to game and that trend becomes compounded and exponentially harder to change. Mathematically speaking (math buffs help me out here), this makes sense. If I have say the number 5 and I graph that into a trend, my next number becomes very important. So let's say I have 7 as my next. That's a difference of +2. Now we need another number...let's say it's 7 again. That's a difference of 0 from the previous 7, but overall we now have a difference of +1 because the +2 was a difference out of two, but since we now have to calculate between a difference of 3 the 0 affects our average and brings it down. Not sure what the mathematical concept here is actually called, but this is what I believe our statistics are based on. If you can make your average shows positives as an average trend, you're going to advance in rank. Furthermore, I believe the positives have to cross a certain threshold, i.e. your total average trend must be +5 to attain knives, +10 to attain shotties, or something of that sort, so those that feel like they're improving may not be improving enough.
  5. If you'd like to PM me with some basic instructions on turning a CoD film into a YT film, sure.
  6. I know the area, well. Works great with two people in higher rounds as the TS by that window will break mid-round. We place the claymore facing towards the unopened double doors on either side of that little cage and just try to spam headshots as they come around the hallway. If we get overrun we just just back up into our claymores, wipe out a horde, and replace the claymores. Usually camp this with AN-94 and a sniper rifle like DSR or SVU. During jumper rounds just head up to the roof for more open spaces and run around the TS. Made it to 36 with this strategy. Could've gone farther, but my camping buddy was scared and thought it was time to start training in another area...Of course that's when our team went down.
  7. Coming from an IT professional, I have some tips that can aid in connectivity/matchmaking. First and foremost, you need to have a streaming minimum speed. The bare minimum here is 1.5 Mbps download speed, but that's really not realistic if you want unlaggy games. With first-person shooters, upload speeds are actually more important, but most ISP's bill profiles with high download speeds and significantly lower upload speeds. 1 Mbps is sufficient for your upload, but faster is always better. If you have decent speeds (at least 5 Mbps Download/1 Mbps Upload) the next step to improving your online gaming experience is to open traffic ports or set up a DMZ host if your router supports that function. A great website to learn more about opening ports/port forwarding is http://www.portforward.com. I prefer DMZ hosting and have that setup to my Xbox, so all incoming internet traffic intended for my home network passes through my router untouched and ends up at my Xbox first. If my Xbox is turned off, my network functions normally, but when it's on no traffic is held or slowed down by my router. I run 24 Mbps Down and 3 Mbps Up, rarely have lag and almost always host games either on MP or Zombies. Another useful tip for online gaming is to connect your console with an Ethernet cable, not wireless/wifi. Wireless signals are ALWAYS subject to interference from other electronics, speakers, televisions, microwave ovens, other wifi networks (especially if you live in an apartment), mirrors (believe it or not) are really bad, etc.. Also, placement of your wireless router greatly affects signal strength. Most routers have standard antennas, so they broadcast their signal outwards in 360 degrees and down, like an umbrella. If you have such a router on the floor or lower than the device you're connecting to it, expect issues. If you have such a router placed against an exterior wall of your home, you'll lose half your signal strength. Some routers (usually those with antennas you can see and move) have hi-gain antennas that can be aimed and if these are aimed properly, you can have them against an exterior wall without any signal loss, but these routers are not as common as they once were. Overall, to improve online gaming performance: 1) Increase your upload speed. 2) Open/Forward ports in your router or DMZ host (preferred) 3) Use an Ethernet Cable (most can be 50-100 ft with no speed loss, other higher grades can extend much further) 4) If you must use Wifi, keep it away from other electronics and mirrors, keep it in a central location, and keep it up high. Hope this information helps you guys.
  8. Just wanted to update what I've recently been seeing... I've noticed that zombies whom get on your elevator while you're travelling, now will chase you at first, but once the elevator starts moving they stop and act like they are stunned. They stop chasing and just kinda waver while standing still. Is this due to a recent patch? Anyone else noticing this?
  9. There's no ill feelings, that I have, towards any member of this forum. I understand your position, Undead, and I agree to a point. However, I believe this forum is not just a solution or tip sharing community, but a fairly elite club of CoD Zombie enthusiasts. Possibly we could even be considered connoiseurrs(sp?). As to that extent, I believe this forum is a great place to discuss EVERY aspect of the game, even those that annoy us. Perhaps we won't stop the annoyance by sharing it in our community, but what we will surely do is strengthen the bond of our community. I honestly don't think this annoyance as I've stated in my OP can be remedied. It's a deeper problem that roots to immaturity, but it feels good to share it openly with other like-minded members. I surely can't share these feelings with those creating the problem, such talk would fall on deaf ears and more than likely just fan the flames of their annoying behavior. I'd be "feeding the trolls", and we all know that's a losing battle. Victory can only come, therefore, by finding solace in my fellow community members because they share the same annoyances. The solution then becomes one unintended...As we discuss this annoyance, we discover the deeper problem and can then engage in productive discussion about these grand issues. Though we may not solve these grand problems that plague our entire globe, we can find ways to overcome these issues within ourselves and become better and more mature players as well as individuals. Though it's a stretch. I guess I'm saying this is my support group. Thanks for all the replies, shares, and help to try and solve this problem. You guys are awesome.
  10. That's the most accepted way to do it. Either line up a few TS and hide behind them or drop two with a space in between them in some wide area (like the rooftop) and run a tight figure eight between them (may want Jugg for this). There's a few camp spots that work OK, but I prefer the figure eight method. Here are the camp spots that work: 1) The shack on the rooftop with two entrances, in between the dragon signs and the double elevator perks. (place two TS in each entrance and camp inside) 2) The corner in the TS room by the B23R (place 2-3 TS in front of the corner and one at the edge by the roof or one facing the drop to the pink mattresses and sit in the corner) 3) The NAV table corner on the rooftop. (place all your TS across that corner from the generator box to the wall and sit underneath that ramp leading to the radio tower) Again, I prefer the figure eight method because while camping you have no escape route should one of those crazy buggers get past the TS.
  11. I'm in the trenches with the newbs and randoms. Makes it a bit frustrating at times, but then I have some oustanding games with randoms too. I think this keeps it interesting. Solo gets boring.
  12. As long as you are up when the last Jumper is killed and there has been 100% accuracy (easily accomplished by having 0 shots fired) the Jumper will drop a Max Ammo, perk bottle, and your score will show +2000. Great news about the semtex miss and still getting the bonus. If you can miss with Semtex and still get it, you should be able to miss with a frag and get it as well.
  13. I was curious about the nades. I knew that claymores would yield the bonus, but claymores are almost always 100% bcause they only trigger when they have something to kill. As for nades, you can miss with poor timing or a bad throw. So, how do the explosive rounds count ammo? Is it like one bullet that has to at least do damage? Or does it have to be lethal? If no one has tested this I may have to because I would love to just spam nades in these rounds if I have no TS or am otherwise in a bad spot.
  14. Wait...Micro transactions for Calling Cards? LoL, they just don't care anymore. All about that money. "Don't earn these Cards with lots of playtime," they say, "just empty your pockets."
  15. I find it funny that a new member decided to make their first post the follwing: How can you miss this person if your first post was to say they won't be missed? Ummm...? As far as the DLC drop dates...I'm ready for another, but I don't want them to rush through and release crap. Test it twice, then test it again. Fix the bugs, fix the glitches, then retest for more, then fix again. Patience is a virtue. Be patient with the DLC and be patient with the forum.
  16. Tried last night with some randoms. I only knew roughly what was involved, but was following orders as this was my first attempt. The randoms had completed Richtofen and we were doing maxis. Elevators were simple, we made Stu get the Ballistic Knife, Russman get Who's Who. Shot the balls, collected the balls, made our way to the Buddha Room. I had PaP M16 (Skullcrusher), Russman, Stu, and I (Misty) sat on the catwalk, they kept the catwalk clear while I watched for Marlton's train to bunch up, then blast with a few nades from the Skullcrusher. 2-3 rounds of this and we heard the voice cue. Then Russman jumped down and commited suicide by cooked nade and was revived via BK by Stu. Got the next cue on first attempt. Then we began searching out the Mahjonng Tiles (hardest part IMO), finally got the order straight and everyone starts going down before we can place the TS's...So, we didn't complete the EE, but we flew through the step that everyone is having trouble with. Hope we didn't just get lucky.
  17. DAY X/2 ME could mean this: Change the 2 to an S, drop the / ... DAY XS ME Now if we substitute the Y as an I, we can unscramble and get ... MAXIS (MAXYS) All that remains after that is ... ED So, we have ... ED & MAXIS (MAXYS)
  18. 1p=Shameful (haven't really played much solo) 2p=15 (again not much playtime) 3p=36 (great team, camped the sweatshop mostly) 4p=27 (great team, but horrible communication) I've been avoiding Die Rise after my first few attempts led to big frustrations. It's a confusing map at first, but once I learned how to navigate and the jumper round TS bonus, I'm beginning to enjoy the map more and play a lot more.
  19. You hit the nail on the head. I have a fairly sick sense of humor and I have no qualms when I am sharing this sense of humor with people who know me, but just as it's unacceptable to go into public and ogle or make comments at women you don't know, so should it be playing in a game with people you don't know. To me, there's no difference. I don't feel there is any excuse that can suffice for behaving badly in public. Public matches should be thought of the same as a public market, but they aren't and that's the problem. People want to behave badly, it's human nature, but part of growing up is figuring out when it's appropriate to act out and release your pent up lust/rage/etc.. The older men who have commented about this, ChopperNator and CaddyMan, have both admitted they do this while in the presence of friends, not strangers. That's an appropriate venue. A lot of kids I come across on BO don't think there are consequences to behaving badly in these game rooms, maybe some don't see the consequences for bad behavior in the real world. They more or less think they're safe hiding behind a game screen, so they can say or do whatever they want. To me, that's inexcusable and I voice my opinion about it. Would you walk up to a strange woman in the middle of the mall and stare at her cleavage making obscene comments and jumping up and down in excitment? If you did, you'd probably be slapped by her, beat up by her boyfriend or some other passerby and/or arrested. So why do it in a game? No, better yet...Why BO? There are games out there that allow you to have virtual sex with other people online. Go play those games if you want to make sexual comments and let me slaughter zombies without having to imagine some teenager with a stiffy.
  20. OK, granted. Have your chuckles. Enjoy the sexual innuendos that this creates. There's a difference between your private enjoyment and whatever mature thoughts pop up in your head and some adolescent teenager VOICING out loud on the mic mysoginistic things like, "Ooooh, boobs." or, "Yes! She's got freckles on her boobies!" and then proceed to knife and/or jump like crazy or otherwise crowd my play space. I'm sorry, but I don't find such behavior funny. I find it annoying and crude and prefer not to be on the receiving end, even if it's only in a virtual world, the intent is still very real and the intent makes my skin crawl.
  21. If you're round 30ish when you first go down, I'd say 99.99% of the time you'll have at least 5-10k in points. So, step one is make sure you're re-spawned by PaP and Jugg, in that order. The respawning order is simple, you respawn with whoever is still up and is highest in order according to the scores. Step two is PaP your M1911, buy Jugg. If you can't do both in time, PaP the M1911 and forego Jugg. You'll need your teammate to change up their tactics a bit for you in this round. They're going to have to babysit you, especially if you can't acquire Jugg. Step three is get a Tramplesteam. If you're on the roof, which is most likely since PaP/Jugg always spawn there just in different elevators, get back to the roof by the dragon signs. Again, you'll need your babysitter to sacrifice their TS so the both of you can get back, you'll need to retain yours. Step four is camp the roof by the dragon sign. Have the babysitter down below by the NAV table, they'll need to watch that window since they have no TS, but also keep the oncoming horde at bay, but your sole function is to keep your babysitter alive by offering air support with your Mustang & Sally. Your TS should be behind you on the ramp to keep your back safe. Your babysitter must be vigilante not to allow zombies onto your ramp, as you won't have an escape route unless you pick up your TS. Use your ammo sparingly, especially in the higher rounds. Another way to do this is to have your babysitter train the horde on the roof, but that can be risky as it increases the chances of zombies straying onto your ramp and decreases the availability of your babysitter to kill those strayers. Of course, training is the best ammo conservation technique because you can fire two or three quick M&S shots into the horde to bring them down. This is a pretty complicated process, but it's only one round. Have your other teammates leave a zombie or two at the end of this round, so you can re-acquire your lost perks and everyone get back to their respective places. If done correctly you'll have only spent one round getting set back up, but if you are short on points, just follow this strategy for another round, or bring a third player to the roof to ensure survival for more rounds.
  22. I wasn't really whining. I was just ranting and wanted to make a post. This was as creative as I could get at that time and was the most prominent thing on my mind. I guess that says a lot for how often this happens to me... I'm an adult and like to think I'm mature. Most think I'm far older than I really am, so I'm definitely mature enough to realize that I have tools available if this type of harrassment really gets on my nerves (mute, report, in-game troll, etc..) I was just trying to ignite some discussion about this, as I'm sure it happens to many of us. I prefer playing as Russman, myself...There's just something that I find totally awesome about slaughtering zombies as an old hobo with an ego.
  23. This is a bit of a rant, but is anyone else tired of playing with randoms and while you enter the game as Misty, they constantly get in your face and start making lewd comments about boobs and feckles? Can these pubescent teenagers just stop ogling the digital cleavage and making comments?! I'm gonna go off on the next one and report them, I promise!   I guess I can totally understand where a pretty woman comes from after this crap...
  24. Yeah, really. Me too. I spent the $50, but slowly it's seeming more like I blew it. :/
  25. So basically, you must abandon your life and just play non-stop fairly well to achieve shotties. F that.
