The denizens killed me once. My controller had died while I was in the fog. Couldn't plug it in, in time. Fucking bullshit.

Welcome. Better late than never, but this thread belongs in teamate finder.

You never know how large they might make a DLC. Don't count something grand out simply because it's DLC. Maybe with all the NAV cards we are able to initiate a telporter without a teleporter (like Richtofen is doing to us in Die Rise) and use this to go from map to map, from Nacht to whatever's after Die Rise and beyond, able to visit each map in between. Perhaps we can choose which character to play as and there's some huge EE with character specific objectives that must be completed in each map. Maybe the characters need to retrace their steps and do something to save mankind, like the characters from Lost. Meh. That's just wishful thinking.

ATTN Treyarch - sledgehammer and the fly

*bows* Why thank you, sir. Good to see someone understands my point. :D -
Perfect opportunity to pull out a black hat and get a flyswatter medal.

What about the poor zombies? Here we are debating whose side to take when they're are innocent victims having their humanity stripped away and replaced with a unquenchable hunger for murder who, might I add, are just bullet fodder for us to arbitrarily count as kills...In the end they just become a statistic that we use to improve a symbol. These are lives we're talking about! Did any of us ever stop to think about the thousands of innocent men and women we kill each time we play? Who will fight for them?

^^^ This more along the lines of where I'd go with the theory. The Jumping Jacks always seem to roundhouse kick me like Chuck Norris, it enfuriates me, but I digress. Since the Chinese/Japanese/Asian heritage has always been associated with Martial Arts, suppose there were Nova 6 crawlers from Russia (Given its proximity to Asia) that were trained by martial artists. They developed longer limbs as a result of their training. The teleportation could also be reminiscent of how Ninjas practice invisibility and are fabled to disappear into thin air. However, Ninjas are Japanese. Shao-lin monks (kung fu) are Chinese. So maybe, they just meditate to teleport. Or maybe Treyarch just doesn't care about being geographically correct.

I usually just troll them by only letting the revive bar fill up half way, over and over until they bleed out, that way they feel like I really want them to keep playing and stay tuned instead of quitting. My productive hopes with such an action is that they watch how I play and learn something. I might try to fire trap them in the future, that sounds fun. Lol.

I had three friends. We wanted to try to Die Rise EE. We picked up a random fourth and screened the player. He was immediately asking us, "Hey you guys good? You wanna do the EE?" Alright, we thought, this guy's a winner. It should also be mnetioned that pre-game he had commented how much he loathed rage-quitters. Then we get into the game...He's breaking every etiquette rule imaginable, stealing kills, throwing frags like crazy, then he proceeds to grab a tramplesteam part and race away. Us 3 stay together, get our parts for the TS built and request he join us there with his part...This is all transpiring circa round 4, so needless to say we were a bit on edge because our strategy was to get the early free perk+2k, build the Nav table, then focus on EE steps. He finally arrived and we had the TS ready to go. We were very communicative and decent to this person, despite his early disregard for etiquette. We instructed him of our plans and asked him not to shoot a single round when the Jacks round began...Unfortunately, he did. After all this, I felt we were justified to look for another person and just back out and I voiced my opinion rather harshly (I was convinced he was trolling us at this point). I was vetoed and calmed down because my fellow players felt we could still do it even with a weak link. Of course, 2 rounds later, our fourth goes commando on his own and goes down by fall death, then rage quits... Moral of the story: Even one random can ruin a good game and always be weary of trolls.

^^^ Taking the withdrawal fee into account, that would equal about a 2k difference. 2k unaccounted points. The same amount that seems to be mysteriously missing from a lot of other gamers' banks. OK, so it's seeming like 2k is a magical number. Either 2k is lost or 2k is all that remains. The causes for this are still unknown.

ATTN Treyarch - sledgehammer and the fly
ETEl2NAL407 replied to Chopper's topic in General Zombies Discussion
I made that analogy and though it may have not been the best analogy, I did not miss the point. You did. The point is not about HOW a particular company swindles you out of your money, only that they WILL. My point is not to advocate advertising lies, but to show the actual cause of such. Ready for a surprise? It's the buyers. The people buying (believing) all these lies that advertisers put out there are what causes even bigger lies to be made. A great analogy about advertising lies is food. Matter of fact, it's also a sales pitch staple. When you see a McDonald's commercial on television the cheeseburgers look flawless. Do you really believe you're going to receive that same flawless burger when you actually go to McDonald's? No? Well, of course not, but why aren't we complaining about that everytime we go to McDonald's? Isn't that the same as lying about exclusive content? To me, it is. It's McDonald's saying, "If you come to our restaurant, this is what you can expect." but that's NOT what I get. So, with the exclusive content we're hearing from Treyarch, "If you pre-purchase, this is what you can expect." but that's NOT what we get. Same thing. Yet, it's more acceptable for McDonald's to do this? No. It's just that we expect it from them because they're built up in most people's eyes as some corporate giant and for some silly reason we don't see Treyarch as the same. Obviously Treyarch is playing in the big leagues now. They're hiring advertising executives and marketing consultants, teams of highly trained sales...Professional con artists and money hustlers/swindlers. They research market trends, find out what works to increase sales, and attack those strategies to maximize profits and fill their pockets. If you actually think Treyarch is creating these games to share in our enjoyment, you're mistaken. They do this to earn money so they can feed their families, or buy that Ferrarri they've always wanted. I used to work in sales, so I can tell you first-hand that it's all a scam with a pretty pink bow on the top. Sales is about getting an emotional reaction from your client. You want the buyer to FEEL that they MUST have your product, whether they need it or not. The staple about food I mentioned earlier is a little phrase that any salesman will know, "Don't sell the steak, sell the sizzle." It basically means that your product matters little, but what truly matters is the way you present your product. In this case, the sizzle for Treyarch is the empty promise that pre-purchasers get exclusive content. Another great little sales phrase is, "People love to buy, but they hate to be sold." which is easy to see by the outrage that many of you have over this whole thing. You love to buy the pre-purchase because you love to think you're getting exclusive content, but once you discover that was a lie just to sell the pre-purcahse, you're mad. Matter of fact, Megaton even said so himself, Not to pick on you Megaton, but you said I missed the point. If the point of this thread is to whine and complain about how Treyarch is a good seller, then yes I missed that point. I was making my own point that there's no use in whining and complaining because buyer's that purchase based on their emotional responses vs. logical decisions are why we see ads that lie. If you don't want companies to lie about their products, first, don't believe the lies and make your purchases based on logic, and, second, spread that same message. If emotional based sales drop, advertisers will be forced to abandon those strategies and just make better products that appeal to a buyer's logic. It's just Logic vs. Emotion. For example, the ads for BO:1 and BO:2 have celebrity cameos. Cool, right? Yeah, it makes you feel like the game you love is good enough for celebrities, so you're part of that elite club when you purchase the game. Then, we get the game and we see all the glitches and flaws, we see the leaderboards for zombies have NO bearing on skill. Now think about all the money they paid to have those celebrities in their commercial. Now, take all that money and put it to paying programmers and testers more so the game could have been developed and released without as many bugs. Now, let's advertise that. Just have a camera panning around the testers hard at work improving the game. Do you think it would sell as well? No. Why? Because the majority has already told advertisers that we don't care about the substance of our products, we just want you to make it look cool. Lol...this is why it's pointless to complain when you get sold. -
That James Watt steam engine works perfectly to explain the cylindrical shape below the pulley in the comic strip. Notice how there are columns (round) that house the pump apparatus and a flat (square) roof that connect the columns. Now look at that shape below the pulley in the comic strip... It's round and it has a square shape at the joint that goes off 90 degrees.

Galil > AN-94 > MTAR The Galil has always been my favorite box gun, but I hated it in MP. The AN-94 is becoming my favorite wall gun the more I play Die Rise, but so far I still like the MP40 better. The MTAR is a good gun for MP, but compared to the others in Zombies, it's garbage.

TRANZIT - Is It a Clock & Tie in To Nuketown (Theory)
ETEl2NAL407 replied to nockscitney's topic in TranZit
Hmmm... I understand what you're saying and it makes sense, theoretically. The N4 are travelling backwards in time, or at least they're visiting locations retro-chronologically (is that a word?), but where does Die Rise fit? You've explained that Nuketown may be at the end of the journey, but how would that be if Richtofen gains control from the Moon, as seen in NTZ, yet the entire time our N4 our prancing around a world already destroyed. So, I'm a little confused. If Die Rise and Green Run are leading up to NTZ, shouldn't the earth be in a different state? -
We had 4 that we're all friends. We tried to do the Join Session thing, but only 3 of made it in time, so we picked up a random for the fourth. Luckily, that random had a mic and we clued him into what we were doing. 2 matches later and everyone of us had all the achievements. If you need help with this, gather another friend or two and I will help out this weekend. Just msg me on XBL what time you expect to be free this weekend and I'll try to break away from Skyrim leveling to help.

Look just like a pulley wheel to me. Someone mentioned the crevice in the wheel is too small for mine cart/rail car. That appears accurate. Seeing as how the rest of the image implies an underground setting (due to the rocks and the mechanical looking tube/cylinder), I'd say this is a pulley wheel that would normally have a cable around it in the crevice NOT a film wheel. Could be for hoisting rocks from a mine, could be a pulley from a crane. My money is on a pulley of some sort.

I side with Richtofen because while playing BO:1, he made me laugh so damn hard. Oh, Ed...you're a sick bastard, but you're funny as hell! Maxis is just a butt-hurt debbie downer. Cry me a river, you emo-fag.

Good idea. I would add a mechanic that after every round the players respawn at their starting locations, keeping their guns/perks that they've obtained, but just like a MP match counts down before the match starts, so would the new round. This way you could add the strategy of players just killing zombies to change rounds and also limit the gameplay so a match would last for x number of rounds, pre-determined before the match. That would allow the players a choice of playing defensively by surviving the zombies and possibly not getting as many points, but ensuring that they don't risk the guns/perks they've obtained, or playing offensively and going after the humans throwing caution to the wind in regards to surviving the horde. Another great addition to this would be scorestreaks, but the humans are immune to them, so you can't lightning strike your opposition, but you can wipe out an entire horde. Probably could keep the standard MP point system, 100 for a human kill, 25 for a zombie kill, regardless of how (no amp for a melee kill to a zombie), and also give the zombies a finite amount of health and only increase their numbers and speed with each new round.

SOLO(Online): Anyone Else Having Problems?
ETEl2NAL407 replied to nockscitney's topic in General Zombies Discussion
I must have misread the problem, I thought you were having the issue when playing Solo on Local. Thanks for clarification. I am also in IT, Help Desk support for a large ISP (to remain unnamed). Now that I'm clear on the issue, I have had this happen before. The symptom showed as either a hanging "Connecting to Server" screen, or a message stating, "The Call of Duty servers are not available at this time..." When I first saw this, a few weeks ago (pre-patch), I thought, "Oh great, more time away from the game." This was the first weekend following a massive AT&T Uverse outage that had the majority of their customers' MTU rate dropped from 1500 to 576, prohibiting XBL from connecting. So, I was a bit perturbed. I thought I would give MP a try, JIC, and I was able to get into a public match there easily. I played one match, tried the zombie servers again and they worked. So, the individual stating a switch to MP can fix this can be confirmed by me, but from an IT standpoint...It's tough for me to imagine exactly why this is happening. -
SOLO(Online): Anyone Else Having Problems?
ETEl2NAL407 replied to nockscitney's topic in General Zombies Discussion
You should re-create the connection in your PS3 and make sure UPnP is enabled. Even if your router has the capability, your PS3 can disable it. UPnP stands for Universal Plug and Play, which is a protocol that makes different devices connect with each other more easily, without having to specify a bunch of information. Since you're not really trying to access the game Online, I really don't see how router/internet connection configurations have anything to do with your problem. Maybe try to uninstall/re-install recent patches/updates and try again. If all else fails, contact PSN, then Treyarch, then your ISP. (In that order) *You also may want to look into setting up your PS3 as a DMZ Host. I feel it's more effective (and much easier to configure) for online gaming than opening individual ports. -
Welcome. This belongs in the introductions thread, but you're here and that's all that counts.

Grief Tournament (2v2 or 4v4 teams)

Yes, any noun may be used possessively. Remember a noun is a person, place, thing, or idea. In the case of Winter it is a thing. If I have an apple that has a bruise and that bruise is yellow, I could form a sentance as follows: My apple's bruise is yellow. The apple can show possession. This is grammatically correct. Where's my grammar Nazi medal?

What experiences you made with playing drunk
ETEl2NAL407 replied to Tom852's topic in General Zombies Discussion
I tend to be a talkative drunk, so when I play drunk my focus is not on gameplay, but chatting it up with my fellow players, much to their annoyance. Medically speaking, alcohol inhibits your motor skills (hand-eye coordination, reaction time, etc..) so no one should be better at any video game while drunk, but many say they are because alcohol also inhibits higher brain function. They claim this helps them focus better on instincts. I can see that, but the loss of motor skills, to me, outweighs the ability to react instinctually vs. logically. Reality is all about perception, so if you perceive yourself to be better while drunk, you are. Then again, can you really trust the accuracy of your self-perception while you're intoxicated? -
I agree with thesae strategies, but I use a simpler one. It's simpler for me, but may cause more trouble for others because I don't really stick to a strict pattern. I tend to go around the screen, but if one end looks kinda packed up, I'll dart through the middle and reverse my direction. I tend to stay away from the boxes behind the teleporter and NEVER go in between the power switch and those boxes. Even if that path looks clear, many times a sneaky Nova crawler will jam you there just at the last instant. I find it's much better to backpedal if going counter-clockwise when you see that spot is jammed, kite the horde back towards the door a bit, then rush through and change direction. There is actually space back there by the claymores to give you some relief momentarily, but you need excellent timing. Of course, the best practice is to know your escape routes. For example: the technique I just described, if not executed properly, can lead to buying that door by the claymores to escape. If you mess up on the stage anywhere near the front, just run towards the spawn. Another escape route is the teleporter and, I might add, is also a free trap.
