So wait, does Vril-Ya refer to the species as a whole (Keeper faction and Apothicon "overlord" faction) or just a single faction? Because human sacrifice seems to be something that is required by the species as a whole; the Keepers seem to have left a lot of technology that requires human sacrifices (M.P.D., Vril Rod, etc). While the "overlord" faction needed the human sacrifices to be able to cross dimension. It seems that the species as a whole uses human sacrifices as a source of power. (Some food for thought, the Keepers are obviously interested in preserving the dimensions, but do they just seek to prevent threats coming from their dimension? Or will they protect us from threats from any dimension?) However, I think it's a bit of a jump to assume that the Warden was sacrificing to the Vril-Ya; while it would wrap everything up nicely, there's nothing in game that points to the Vril-Ya's presence in that map. So far, there's 3 potential options for the evil force present in the map: 1. The Keepers. This seems unlikely, due to the fact that there appears to be no threat to the dimensions. 2. The "overlord" faction. I initially thought this was most likely (obviously it couldn't be stated as fact because there's no concrete evidence in MotD), but then surely if the "overlord" faction had been present, the Keepers would have followed, because of the "Overlords" presence in the MotD dimension. So I now theorise that it's most likely that the evil force was the third potential option: An evil force that is completely separate from both factions of the Vril-Ya. Obviously we have little information on this force, but the lack of Keepers on MotD seems to tell us one thing - that this evil force resides within our own dimension.

It's clear that the Keepers are a different faction of the same species as the "overlords" from SoE, but I'm still very suspicious of the Keepers at this point. In the last step of the Easter Egg Richtofen does state that the keeper has been corrupted, but I'm not convinced that the Keeper's intentions are actually "good" for humanity. The Keepers seem to have created the MPD in the first place. The Keepers seem to be the cause all of the issues in the storyline, and are all of a sudden trying to fix them? And are we meant to buy that they are simply "guardians of the dimensions", trying to protect us from the evils in other dimensions? I think it's much more likely that in Shadows of Evil, their goals happened to line up with ours. In Der Eisendrache I'm fairly certain we only see the corrupted Keeper, which would mean that the Keepers didn't actually help us, we just utilised some of their technology. If you remember back to origins, there was zombies with the Keeper logo that specifically tried to stop the O4 from completing their task by destroying the generators.

Ever since moon, we've been aware of an external, sinister force that has been influencing the timeline. There's been many theories as to what this force is, with some speculating that we're dealing with aliens, an advanced civilisation that live underground, or even satan himself. In Shadows of Evil, we were introduced to the Apothicon, a species of interdimensional beings, but they were fended off with the help of the keepers, a mysterious group who seem to be working to keep the dimensions intact. However, the Keepers appear to be members of the Apothicon species, and some new evidence in Der Eisendrache raises some questions about the motives of the Keepers. Der Eisendrache has allowed us to establish something very important; the Keepers appear to be responsible for the creation of the M.P.D. This is suggested, if not outright confirmed, by the M.P.D. looking structure present in Der Eisendrache surrounded by Keeper statues, and the Vril Rod shaped slot present on the tomb in the next room. (For those of you who don't know, the Vril rod was used to open the M.P.D. in moon. The research into the Keepers being conducted by group 935 also heavily suggests a link between the Keepers and the M.P.D. Considering that the Keepers appear to have been responsible for the device which gave rise to the zombies, it's time to start asking questions about the motives of the Keepers. Yes, they saved Earth from the Apothicon, but the zombies storyline is ridden with betrayal. Can we call the Keepers our allies? Only time will tell....

Have you got any pics of the pods? Can you go into theatre mode and show us? It's possible that, if what you describe is true and isn't a glitch, that it is merely a reward for getting the counter to zero as opposed to the next step in an easter egg.

Oh. Well I feel stupid.

What makes you sure that Jessica Rose will appear in this map?

How to upgrade the Apothican Servant legit?
Altymcalty replied to steviewonder87's topic in Shadows of Evil
Does anyone know what the light behind one of the subway carriages that looks like a closed rift portal does? I think it spawns after you do the ritual, maybe it has something to do with upgrading the wonder weapon? -
SOE - Do we like the wall running? And what about water?
Altymcalty replied to Stop Mocking Me0's topic in General Discussion
The wall running felt a lot like a gimmick. It was too punishing when it went wrong, and with a combination of zombies, lag and uncoordinated teammates it has been a cheap end to many runs that had potential. That meant that it just wasn't helpful towards surviving, and served very little purpose. Bringing it back in a map without a giant death hole beneath it might make it work, although I can't see why it would be preferable to running normally. I'm still to be convinced by it so no, I wouldn't like to see it return. As cool as an underwater map sounds... I don't think I'd like it. If there's a limit to how long you can spend underwater, it's an instant no from me. Even if they don't have that, I'm still doubtful. I just feel that the mechanics of zombies trying to hit you underwater would likely make the water unviable mid round, and that would probably just reduce the water to a mere gimmick much like the wall running. Sorry, but it's another no from me. -
Wow, that map makes SoE feel really small. Nice find though.

I'm guessing that it be power ups more in the style of drops that we get from the gumball machine, and that perks will be completely separate.

Possible Origin of the Monsters and Shadow Man
Altymcalty replied to PokeDanny10's topic in Shadows of Evil
Someone else pointed out that the monster looks a lot like the nova 6 zombies, so I don't think it's impossible to rule out that it could have been created by man. -
My case for why "The Giant" is NOT a "remake"
Altymcalty replied to RedDeadRiot's topic in The Giant
I'd say we best call it a reboot - from the looks of things, there's some time travel shenanigans going on so it's make sense for the map to be the same but different - I'd guess that they'll expand the map, add a couple of the new perk a colas, put in the BO3 guns, add an EE, and possibly add some new boss zombies or put in a Wunderwaffe mark 2 or some form of upgraded version of the weapon. Plus, it's possible that this map could result in changes to the timeline, potentially causing some maps to never happen, therfor it would essentially be rebooting the timeline. Of course that's just speculation at this point. While I would normally call it a remake, since that was the word attached to the WaW maps in BO1, I think it would give people the wrong idea, hence why I would go for "reboot". -
Let's be fair, Activision will be willing to get in bed with anyone for cash. I was surprised to see the first teaser on the PS Youtube channel though, and I think it was on that channel first? Not sure, if someone could confirm that would be great. The only way Activision would release first on PS4 is if that got them more profits. It's highly possible that, because both Ghosts and AW were cross-generational releases, and beacuse the number of Xbox 360 and Xbox One's were probably greater than the number of PS3's and PS4's, it was more profitable to release on Microsoft first. But since this looks to be the first pure next-gen game, it's possible that they could have changed allegiances because there's more PS4's than Xbox Ones, making it more profitable to release on PS4 first. Looking at it this way, if Sony and Microsoft were to both offer an exclusivity deal at the same price, the Sony deal would likely be more profitable. And before anyone says that Activision has been in bed with Microsoft for however long, bear in mind that didn't stop them from jumping into Sony's bed with Destiny. Of course, there's no evidence that a new deal has been made. For all we know, Activision is still bound by the previous deal, or there could be other implications. We don't know, and I doubt that we'll ever get to know what sort of deals go on behind closed doors. All we can do is wish for a world where everyone gets the DLC at the same time.

Treat this guy like you would treat Brutus from MOTD. That's essentially what he is (Except he's got a flamethower and a giant claw to molest you with) You need to remember to stop and shoot when running away from him. Once you deal enough damage to him, he will pause for a second before continuing his attack (I think this is when you shoot his claw off but I'm not sure). Use this opportunity to get a few head-shots in and he'll be dead in no time. The last bit of advice I can give you is not to be scared of him. People overestimate his health, leading to deaths when people run away from him, without actually dealing any damage to him. This is a really bad idea. Just remember to run and shoot at regular intervals and try avoiding tight areas and you should be fine,

Ok, so the thread ties in with my last one, which you can read here http://www.callofdutyzombies.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=155&t=35942 Right OK, so I'm presuming you've read my last thread, and are now questioning how the zombies were at Alcatraz. (If not, you should be.) Now, we know that in MOTD, the zombies were being control by an unknown entity that some of you have have taken to calling Lucifer. I believe that he did more than control the zombies. What he did, was made a deal with Arlington. What the deal was, was that anything Arlington wrote would become real so, Arlington then wrote the escape plan, hoping to escape from Alcatraz. But Arlington never realized that more than that would become real. The zombie comics that he had presumably been writing during his time at Alcatraz also become real, causing the perk machines, wall guns etc. to appear. Now, you're probably thinking, "If he made a deal with the devil, how come he didn't escape the first time?", Well, what Arlington never realized was that what he wrote HAD to happen, but would not necessarily defiantly happen. So, what happened was time would repeat itself again and again and again until it did happen. But if Arlington didn't remember what happened the last time, he wouldn't be able to correct the error in his next attempt, so Lucifer forced him to remember until he managed to get away from Alcatraz. Presumably, after his escape from Alcatraz, he broke off his deal with the devil, allowing him to write the comics without them manifesting themselves in real life, at least until Samantha ran into the MPD.....

I'm pretty sure the accents were just a fault on Treyarch's part, as her dad had a german accent. Maybe the voice actor wasn't available or something. He's already dead, he Bruce Willis at the end of 6th sense. That was the whole point of the motd easter egg. That's just one interpretation of the ending. If he was already dead, how could he kill the other mobsters?
-
OK so, we all probably seen the origins ending by now, but in case you haven't this contains spoilers for that and also for the MOTD EE, so spoilerphobes look away. So, MOTD seems to have nothing to do with the other maps right? Wrong. Pretty sure I seen a theory floating around the forums about how the Weasel was the author of the comic book that we see on the loading screens, and that the rest of the zombies storyline is actually just us playing out the comic book, like a story within a story. If you haven't you should go look it up in the MOTD forum as this theory pretty much relies on that being true. Anyway, what if after the Weasel somehow escaped from Alcatraz, he started writing comic books about the zombies. first of all, he started by writing about his escape from Alcatraz. Now before you say, "But there isn't a comicbook page for MOTD" we've got to take into account the ending of Origins. We see Samantha playing with dolls of zombies from various maps, including ones from MOTD. What if, after the weasel's comics became more popular, People started making various action figures of characters from the Weasel's comics, maybe even games along the lines of D&D. After that, The Weasel started to write comics about 4 made up soldiers from the first world war. What we see Samantha playing in Origins is actually a variation on this story, with Samantha inserting characters such as her dad into the story, and changing it up a bit for her game. So most of what I've said so far isn't anything new, and here is where most people would assume that the rest of the maps are just Samantha and Eddie playing a game. Wrong again. We've always assumed that the purpose of the MPD on moon was to control the zombies, but what if we were wrong? what if the MPD was something much more powerful than that. What if the MDT actually granted the user's wishes? This is where the quote from Eddie come in. "I wish the characters in our story were real" What if Samantha did to? Lets assume that after the origins ending, All the radios we hear on moon happen, leading to Samantha getting into the MDT. Then, when she enters, she wishes that the game that she and Eddie were playing was real, Causing zombies to appear, and also Tank, Nikolai, Takeo and Richtofen to appear, along with the perk machines, wall guns and the mystery box as well. Now before you say, "Oh but the zombies and Tank and co. appeared before Samantha entered the MDT", we all know 115 can allow time travel. What if on top of granting the users wishes, the MDT actually manipulates the timelines, causing changes before the user enters it. Then from there, the rest of the zombies storyline plays out, ending with either Rictofen or Maxis gaining control of the zombies.

I figured as much, but wasn't sure, so thanks for clarifying that. I'm pretty sure the way it worked was that before BO2 was released, there was 3 teams, the Multiplayer team, the Campaign team and the zombies team. But the dlcs would be too much for one zombies team to handle, so after the game was released, the campaign team became the second zombie team, and the two teams took turns in making the maps, hence why MOTD had no effect on the Tranzit/Die Rise/Buried easter egg.

Letters from the Field - Photos & Videos from Pre-Origins
Altymcalty replied to GRILL's topic in Origins
No, No! I checked, the E.E.'s you did are done, it's just the Icons don't glow Blue/Orange. That's the same from Lightning one (Having the Nav Card Inserted) It's possible that the Update might have Glitched the Map Screen or We have something to do in Origins. I think that the glowing icons were just for buried, and now that the next map is almost upon us treyarch decided to remove them. Meaning that the Easter eggs we've done so far in BO2 have no affect whatsoever on this last map. -
Yes. If you don't want to, then don't. But just because YOU don't want to doesn't mean WE shouldn't have the option. You guys are acting like you are entitled to something. If they were to release it, and if you didn't like it, then just don't get it! But we'll see if it actually happens. But what if you've already paid for the season pass?
-
I was just thinking about the Nav card tables, and realised that the N4 must of went back to Green Run after Buried, to put the Nav card in the table, then went back to buried to push the button that activates the end game. Any idea how they done it?

Pretty sure I heard people calling him Leroy based on one of the quotes, but I think that Treyarch called him the sloth when they had all the you-tubers in yesterday.
