Ah... I see. Apologies, I misunderstood the statement. Well, that does make sense now. Kinda puts me off trying it now, but as I am not one who is interested in the ranking system, or what emblem I have, I could maybe run some 'Turned' and actually try the game mode out for a bit. I only got my shotguns doing my own personal experiment to prove that, over the long term, a K/D of 160 can get the shotguns, no matter how good or bad a streak of games leading to it is. I witnessed several people on my friends list who all had 250,000+ kills, eventually rank up to shotties when they hit the 160 mark. I tried it myself and got them bang on 160. This was another experiment I was looking to test out as and when I got the shotties, but because I had not obtained them yet, I could not. Thankfully, you did it for me, so appreciated on the one BS. No problem DBZ, it was a pain in the buns to upload every game of turned because of the slow wifi my mom has. About 30-45 mins a game.

Roughly yes. I started around 3-4 pm and finished around 8 with a 4 hour break in between +other minor breaks. Thx perfect I thought you would know the right answer. i knew die Rise was quicker because round 50 only takes 3 and a half minutes roughly. But didn't know it was THAT quick. The boss rounds play a huge role though right? Kino takes that long using the insta trap right? I tried that yesterday starting round 40 (first time I ever legitly played that map solo) and couldn't get it down because I was having problems repairing window and shotting so I was getting low on points. So I went back to training and sadly ran out of zeus at round 46 and since that was the first time I EVER had to reroll a gun I had some problems. -Went down because the box was in the room that is in between the stage and the alley (srry I don't know the room name, only played it a few times). -Then went down again because I had tons of crawlers from the m27 law and running with that gun is slow. Tranzit takes so long because of the jet gun? and yea mmx the strat takes a huge toll on the time it takes. I know for example on die rise if you run sushi bar its the fastest but most challenging. So I rather train at hole in the ceiling but that takes I think an extra minute or two per round. (which I don't mind since its really easy to survive and revive yourself with whos who.) Another example of skill counting for the time taken is on motd. If you go down evvery round that adds roughly 10 mins to the round.

I know that motd takes 12 hrs, but how long does it take for other maps like die rise, kino, tranzit, and others?

Idid get them a while back but have lost them multiple times. And the guy didnt get them with a -50 kd. He got them with whatever kd he HAD, and then trashed it playing turned

Definetly solo. I cant stand playing tranzit coop. WHhat room are you talking about? And diner might be my best bet unless someone has a beast camping spot.

Gt my shotties at a 265 kd and had a 195 kd after playing about 6-9 games of turned. AND, before I did that series above I had just received my shotties. So yeah, the extra 100+ downs would have dropped my kd even further. I have also heard of stories of people with kds of less than 50 w/ shotties.

Anybody have any mid round(15~35) strategies that they would like to share? I used to just train from round 14-40+ But its extremely slow because of the spawns in the tunnel. Any place in this map that can come close to the double tap strategy from motd.

Yea a host migration caused my motd high round 2 save1 time

If you want to go for 100, do motd. A LOT less concentration needed. Unless you go down 3 times in a round

What are some of the hardest places to train in mob of the dead. I want to challenge myself a little with the map and since its easy to recover most of the time I think I might try some of your hardest places. (Please don't say some impossible areas ex: the place where you get the plane part at the bottom of the spiral staircase lol,.

I have lost my shotguns so many times that I don't even care if I get deranked because I can gain them with an easy flawless game of die rise or motd. Mainly motd because its more gun action that keeps me focuse which causes less downs. But thats besides the point. I already knew it didn't count so I just recorded it this time.

stats at the end: 434357 2395 1737 i had 2270 downs to start with. I ended with 2395. Over 100 downs.

Feel free to do it however you please. 100 downs on 'Turned' in a row, and no de-rank is enough to convince me it is fact. I think you are severely over-estimating how mysterious the Dev's can be here. Yes, they like to add mystery to their games and the formula behind the ranking system, but they have been open about plenty of things in the past. Just watch the interview at the XP 2011 event, or previous tweets where they explain things about rank. If 'Turned' was fixed so it was now no longer de-ranking people, I would expect them to announce it in some way. Next to no one plays it. Saw around 50 people on it earlier. If I saw those numbers, I would announce it. Im not trying to be a dick right now, seriously. But you say look at previous tweets but the tweet of zielinski saying that grief and turned doesn't count isn't a legit tweet? I don't know man, seriously. I just talked to someone about the whole system and he was talking about how its kill to down AND kill to death, so I don't know. And he has been looking at this since the first week. He said he has looked at SEVERAL people through elite by following them and looking at their kd. BUT, i just got my shotties. And heres how I got them.... I went to 30 on farm and died with all 4 downs. got into the lobby expecting to be shotties but didn't have it. Somebody invited me to their round 87 custom game on die rise and I left after getting one down. Came back and to my surprise had shotties. Sooo, im on the bare minimum of having shotties. So heres what im going to do. here are my kills and downs and deaths for career 434272 2270 1612 So im going to play a game and make it go x6 so its all under 2 minutes. then upload that and put my stats. Yeah the barn spawn trick is unfair. Reminds me of M16 on Shang lol. I ran it a bit differently than Riley did, though. Especially the early rounds. The early rounds are a pain in the ass... I died on round 15 both times I tried this because its impossible. I don't even try it anymore. Im currently on 28 and once I reach 32 il start trying if I actually reach it.

tally's and eyes are NOT rank... just an indication of how often you've played recently. I've had some terrible grief games recently and havent ranked down... idk but i think its true that only survival/tranzit mode affects ranking (might explain why i am at skull and knife rank even though my k/d overall ratio is 69 Forgive me if I'm mistaken, but don't you need Blue Eyes to up from Skull - Knife or Knife - Shotguns? If so, it technically would be considered rank because it's a perquisite to leveling up. I'm not sure if you do or not, but I've heard you need them. People have gotten the knife rank in the first 3 days after making their account. Their is a theory saying you have to have blue eyes at least once to get shotguns. But you do NOT have to be currently on the blue eyes to rank up. for instance people have gotten the skull first time they played the game.

So do you want 4 different games, or can I try and get 50 downs in 2 games? And does theatre count where I speed it up by 2x? Because I don't have access to my hd roxio atm and I wouldn't be able to record my rank before and after sadly. So I need to know the criteria that YOU make up that will make this pure FACT. And yes I don't think they will come out and say they changed it when they never told us the real formula. And to extend on that, some shotgun players can't play coop. So when you see someone suck it up in a coop game, ask them how well they play solo. I for one couldn't play coop for the longest time in bo2. Then I started playing it almost everyday and its up to par compared to my solo game. how is it any different? same principles, only difference is you need communication... idgi :? How is it different? Infest answered it for the most part, but I'm a little different. When I played, I was kind of a kill whore. I would try to go to the fastest area of the map. But I was also polite. So I wouldn't call an area until everyone else did. So because of that I wouldn't get the good, fast area. So I would go to the insanely hard place. The key room in die rise and other stupid places. Another thing I would hate is that teammates didn't always have the BEST communication. For example in Die Rise we were all at the trample steam room. I was up front killing zombies when I got hit from behind. The other three players were all sitting back while I thought they were helping. SO examples of miscommunication hurt the game. In the starting rounds its usually a courteous thing to say that you are overflowed with zombies when everybody is at a window. NOPE, I had a player have 7 zombies out his window all coming at my back and he didn't say a word about it even though he had been talking before. So after I figured out that you still needed the self awareness of a solo game in coop, then I got better. I also need to learn how to wait when players need to hit the box every damn round. And people that run into your train without saying anything can screw you up also.

If you are hungry to gain the knowledge now, 5and5 posted a video all the way back in November about spawn controls. Its actually pretty epic and I wish I knew about spawn controls back in November. Would have made me a much better zombie player and I probably would have played more town and farm then I did. But I am looking for your video soon perfect, Im pretty sure this map has had some changes to it that some people don't know about.

I understand why you are pushing it as fact though. You played 'Turned' and it looked to you that it does NOT affect rank. Cool. Problem is, others have reported otherwise, and some are people I consider respectable members of this community. Now... you are saying it changed in a recent patch, yes? Well, there is NOTHING in the patch notes to suggest this happened, and apart from a vague tweet from a possibly unreliable Jimmy, then what else is there to confirm this as fact? Do you have this match on 'Turned' uploaded anywhere for me to see? If not, then your word is not fact! Eitherway, I think we should end this debate between each other. It is getting a little non-constructive. Who has reported otherwise? when, where, and what did the report. Crap I forgot it wasn't mentioned in the patch notes like everything is. I forgot thats where everyone found out about the secreat perma perks. What match, I got a match of turned still. And if you want, you can look through my theatre of recent games. if there isn't any of them left because of other games clogging up my space, then Il get my shotgun rank and play some more turned and you can see then. This debate is constructive. And I don't think it should be ended.

And how do I know you are not lying. I don't know you from Adam, and I am not going to take one persons opinion over more who disagree. I am just looking for a collective of opinions. I read your post and it is vague at best. You are the only person to post in it that made the claim. I have saw a user 'ItchyTrigger0' rank all the way to shotguns playing only Grief. He does not play anything else... nothing. So... if he ranked up playing only Grief, and I saw this myself as he is on my friends list, then I am inclined to believe that it does, than from someone who swears blindly it does not. When have I lied before? Every time someone thinks I'm lying on this site, I prove them wrong (or at least prove that I'm not lying). Juggernog Pro is a prime example. No one believed that you could have it after round 15, but I was still saying you could have it. A few days later someone else agreed with me and then people started to see I wasn't lying. I HATE people that lie, so I'm not going to do it myself. I hate people that make fake videos. That was one of the contributing factors to me starting my youtube channel. But for a reference, when did this ItchyTrigger guy get his shotguns EXACTLY? At least narrow it down to a week if you can't narrow it down to a day. Still doubt I will be going to play it anytime soon though... 'Turned' is terrible in my opinion. Tried it twice and doubt I would EVER try it again. Will try looking at some older posts on this. I don't read the site news or almost any other subforum besides the Black Ops 2 section. Now let me tel you what I assume to be true. This is backed up with evidence, but from a small pool. In the beginning: When their was only grief, it counted towards your rank. If you did bad no matter if it was grief/survival/tranzit you were not going to get a good rank, but if you did well you would rank up. This was when kd played a huge determining factor in your rank. I have one friend that played grief only (top 100 in farm) and has shotguns now. (Additional facts, EverythingPiff did a grief tourny where loads of people were deranked at this time, more info later) Towards the middle: This is when turned was introduced along with die rise. This is when people started to think that the ranking system was changed or tweaked. Turned would kill your kd. But it didn't matter as long as you won the game. This transfered over to grief as well. As long as you won it doesn't matter what path you took to the gold, as long as you got there (in this case Im talking about winning). The only proof I had of that- since none of my friends really play turned and the friend that I had that played grief now plays multiplayer solely- was when I was in a twitch livestream and someone was saying that I had shotguns and only played turned. I didn't believe him but when I look at the leaderboards I found his name and he, like a lot of the other people in the top 100, had shotguns. So I ASSUME that winning would give you shotguns if you won a lot. The END: This period is after Jimmy's tweak saying he cares and that normal and survival counts but not other things (paraphrase). I didn't know what this meant at first and really didn't even care but then I saw a video explaining it. I didn't believe it but I wanted to test some things out. So I went into a turned game and played it very cautiously. Did the experiments I wanted to do in that game and then when it was over closed my eyes and opened them to see my rank hadn't changed. I would also like to point out by this time I had gained my shotguns multiple times. So I really didn't care if I lost them Because I knew I could get them back. So I played some turned. Then played more, and more, and more. But never lost them. I gained over 500 downs from turned but did not lose them. Now back to EverythingPiff and his grief tournys. Piff decided to do a grief tourny on cell block. This was around the time during or after Jimmy's tweet. No one reported a loss of rank. Especially the refs which were the ones that got the most downs because it was a 3v3 and they would down themselves every round to keep it fair. these refs gained over a 100 downs in GRIEF and not turned. Which is a tiny bit of evidence that proves that the rank can't be loss from grief and turned. Two more things: One, Im sorry for the multiple gramatical mistakes in my two previous posts, they were written on xbox and they didn't format the way I thought they did. Second, It MAY be possible for a person to rank UP from a grief match but I STRONGLY believe that you can't be deranked. I am going to test this out. Here's how: I lost my shotguns multiple times. I have lost them 2 times from motd. The first time was when I thought that you HAD to have the key next to the mp5 to get the extra 20 zombies on round 1. The second time was yesterday when I tried abour 40 games to get the retriever by round 2. Both times resulted in me losing rank because I left. But it was super easy to get my shotties back super quick since it was a tiny thing that caused me to lose them. I just provoked that change now for the third time. I just went into about 3-5 games and backed out after reviving myself so now I am knife. I am going to do a few games of grief and if I don't rank up that will be some more "evidence" that you can't be ranked up from grief. edit: this post took a wrong time to write even with a good keyboard So after seeing infest's post he gives some more evidence to someone saying that grief works, but instead it was actually a long time ago (before the change) when it worked.

No disrespect intended mate, but I am looking for more than just your opinion on this, and YES, I did read your post. You say "w/proof" yet there is people who say they HAVE been de-ranked from playing, so I am not just going to go by your post alone as proof. Sorry. I am also reaching out to people who play Grief, to see if it is the case with that game mode also. If several people come forward and say it definitely does not, then fair enough... but for your own proof, there is several who will completely disagree with you. How do you know people are not lying? Or they are telling the truth but they ranked up before the change. I to have been told that people have ranked up from grief/turned. i ask when and they usually say months ago. Give me solid evidence that people have been deranked from grief and turned but untill thenmy evidence prooves that its true that you cant be deranked. And the reason im probably w/ proof is that 90% of shotgun ranks are to much of a pansy t9o play it. Oh yea, no dis respect
