Treyarch has put plenty of stuff like that in Zombies map before im sure, the Nuketown street signs for example, were references to famous Nuclear tests, they had no bearing except as a small EE, or the Richtofen books, or the Signs that reference to kill yourself if you're biten in Mob of the Dead not everything in a Zombies map has to have a distinct meaning or purpose, everything is in the eye of the beholder of course, but that is how I feel. I never said that it was in Calico, I said it was modeled after Calico, but they modeled the Buried town after a AMERICAN wild west town, it is obviously American architecture and American design and obviously looks like a American old west mining town. why do you think everyone thought this would be in America instead of Africa? because it is a American old west town, there is absoulutely no evidence that points to Australia in game, no in game quotes, no hints, the only evidence you provide is this supposed sign, which could also have a entirely different meaning as one other poster said, or no meaning at all. Until you show me concrete evidence the Buried town is from Australia, I will have to disagree with you're theory, as I see no concrete evidence to even back it up. @Dragonfly, the map is obviously in Angola, that is a given, however the fact they traveled from China to Angola on foot doesn't mean that the city comes from Australia, it just proves they traveled on foot, That is true also, however, I still disagree with the OP's theory. You also have 0 evidence for it to be in an American town. Like I said before, if you're going to ignore an in-game sign with a location of a real mining facility in a location that many people speculated it was in before then you can also ignore that the in-game modeling of the town is after a city in California. With your logic you're saying neither of us are right. You have no evidence for where this town is from and neither do I using your logic. I guess we can assume that Die Rise isn't in China since their isn't any in-game quotes from the characters. With your logic none of the signs or aesthetic look of the map doesn't determine it's location. You heard it here first everyone. It's possible that Die Rise takes place in America.

You're taking things that are obviously non-existent and comparing it to something that is very possible. Treyarch loves linking locations and their whole story to IRL events and places. Honestly with your logic we may as well throw away about half of what we know about the zombies storyline. There is much more evidence showing that Buried originated from Australia. If you so strongly believe this town is from America then show me in-game evidence through quotes or things around the map that makes more sense than mine. Yeah they do, they linked Buried to IRL Events and Locations via the whole Resolution 1295 connection to Angola, and the fact that the Buried town is based off the city of Calico in California, I feel there is stronger evidence for it being a American mining town, and the fact the town looks American (minus the obviously Victorian mansion) There is no evidence that Buried originated from Australia ethier, except the whole there just happens to be a sign that shares a name with a Australian mine. I disagree with you're Theory, im sorry, I just do, I think there's no evidence to back this up except you're YOURclaim, The sign more then likely means nothing. Treyarch just doesn't put stuff like that sign in their maps for nothing. That's evident throughout every zombies map. Also could you maybe be educated and use the correct version of "your"? Where's your evidence that this town is based off of one in Calico? Links please? I believe that it is by the way, this isn't the first time Treyarch has done something like that. I can turn your own statement around and use it against you. Just because they modeled the town after one in Calico doesn't mean it's in Calico. If you're going to continue and ignore in-game evidence of a area origin location then you might as well ignore the in-game styling of the town.

You're not reading any of my posts. The location that the mining facility and town is originally from is Australia but due to tectonic shifts from the rockets from Moon it has moved to be where Angola is. "Now with quite a lot of tectonic movement and where the map seems to be located in-game on the world map it would seem the primary plate this mine rests on has shifted somewhere near Africa." ^^^ Those lines of text have been in my original post on here since the beginning yet you choose to ignore them.

Well yes of course. This is how it fits into our story. In the beginning of a match i believe Maxis says that this area has very strong connections to the aether as well. Living Stone probably doesn't link to 115 and is there more for the location but we can assume that in our zombie story this was a 115 mining facility.

The town itself is more Victorian than American wild west. So, a sign in game doesn't tell us where we are at? Everything in the map points to this town and mining facility originating from Australia. There isn't any mine called "Living Stone" in America by the way.

Did you not read my full post? Or skip this part of it? "Now with quite a lot of tectonic movement and where the map seems to be located in-game on the world map it would seem the primary plate this mine rests on has shifted somewhere near Africa." This is simply showing where the town and location originated from as people were only speculating Australia and this confirms that.

There is no "End game" on Buried. If there was then it would end the game. We know what happens with Maxis and Richtofen at the end of the EE's, there are several threads about this already.
-
Now the question is how will these 2 different choices effect the last map? Could they possibly change who we play as in the last map according to who we did? Obviously if we choose Maxis then he'll be the Demonic announcer in the last map.

Maxis' Plan Revealed: Who is telling the truth?
Vyhl replied to Slade's topic in General Zombies Discussion
Richtofen. With the world break then he really doesn't have a world to rule over and he can't exactly rule over billions of people as a GOD. Sure he can control the zombies but with everyone else in the world being a zombie then there really is no point. All Maxis wants is his revenge on Richtofen. -
I noticed this also. It seems many of the quotes or references were towards the song 115

It's just a hole and you die if you fall down there. Trust me, I made that mistake and will not be doing it again.

Not even 5 minutes ago I started up a solo match on Buried after checking out the MP for a bit. I'm playing ass Russman and the first qoute I hear from him is "That's not just a hole in the ground. That's the rift". For those of you who haven't noticed, right when you spawn in on Buried you need to go to the left of the spawn area on the little outside edge and look down. That's the hole or "The Rift"

The small Blue section at the top right reminds me of a Blueprints paper. Like the ones on the Workbenches.

I can't wait to get my hands this new perk and map. Looks like crazy fun.
-
I don't know really. I always liked the look of it being there...it's weird with it not being there now..Still going to be an amazing map it seems. However I'm worried about the Ghost girl. I saw a video where someone was saying they were extremely annoying. Also, there can be multiple of this ghost girl. EDIT: I found the video and it was from Syndicate. Here it is.
-
Honestly, reading this made me really sad....
-
You'll be happy to know there's only 1 new perk.

I personally wish they would quit with the boss zombies. Like you said, having them on every other map would be fine though. I want to see more stuff like the Shreiker and Napalm zombies from Shangri-La.
-
The rift definitely seems to be a continental rift. Russman was apart of Broken Arrow. Misty and Marlton were together before they met up with Russman and Stuhlinger. Also it appeared that right in the beginning when it first shows them that there are pyramids behind them.
-
I know Monkeys fit the map better but I just love GD's so much. I at least want to see them return in 1 map on BO2. Even if it's just something like Ruzzeruction where we get 4 maps from BO1 but with the new weapons.

First off if this is just a theory and if this has been covered before please have a mod delete this or bury it. Now this will somewhat be saying that MotD is simply a filler map and why where Paris was going to fit in at. This is also something I've been thinking of for quite some time now. As many of you know Kino Der Toten was suppose to be on WaW and Ascension was suppose to be the standard map for BO1. We know that this ultimately did not happen so here's how the maps were originally meant to be in order. This is shown I think by how Five and Ascension both happened at the same time yet did not release at the same time even though they were meant to. WaW - Nacht Der Untoten - Verruckt - Shi No Numa - Der Riese - Kino Der Toten Black Ops 1 -Ascension/Five (this is because they occur at the same time - CotD - Shangri-La - Where Paris was meant to be the 3rd DLC for BO1 - Moon. BO2 - TranZit and NTZ - Die Rise - Buried - ???? - ???? Now since both Kino and Ascension got pushed up the way they wanted the story to be told wouldn't work since each COD only get's 4 DLC's a year. I'm thinking they originally planned to end it with BO2 but the story and maps have thus pushed it so they have to put it on a 4th game. MotD was filler so the timeframe of 4 DLCS could work perfectly with their 4th game. Here's our current story time frame WaW - Nacht Der Untoten - Verruckt - Shi No Numa - Der Riese Black ops 1 - Kino Der Toten and Five - Ascension - CotD - Shangri-La - Moon Black ops 2 - TranZit and Nuketown - Die Rise - MotD - Buried - ???? this leaves a spot open for another game. Unless Buried has LOTS of story to cover this missing piece or there is a 5th DLC or they could just shorten it up and end it soon with the 4th DLC. I don't think so however because we have a lot to figure out still like cult known as the flesh and much more. I hope some of you understand what I'm trying to say with this. Please if you're going to give criticism then at least be nice about it. -
