If it's post 2025, then why the hell are they still using gramophones? Samantha has one in her room, right next to the window and teddy bear.
-
Well by those standards there's no way h.g.wells could have thought up and wrote war of the worlds is there? There's no way Stephen king could have wrote all the horror fantasies he did either huh? These 2 kids look about 11 and 13 and kids that age normally have a pretty overactive imagination. Cia, CDC, the pentagon? Those things all existed if we're going with fated timeline where its the beginning of WW2. Their imagination must exist outside the boundaries of space and time then. How in the world would they just "imagine" JFK, Nixon, McNamara, Castro, and real life film actors fighting zombies? Five and CotD alone are enough to put the whole "everything's a game" theory to rest.
-
1. Eddie IS NOT Richtofen. Stop assuming they are one and the same. 2. Maxis' plan isn't about bringing toys to life, it's about the super soldier experiment, which we all know includes Nikolai, Takeo and Dempsey (and some Mexican dude).
-
This might just be the key I'm thinking the children only played a family-friendly game, acting out what happened... What we play is the real thing 8-)
-
We all feel somewhat shocked and surprised when we see that ending for the first time. It's pretty normal since we were all expecting some grand stuff, maybe a mystical power shining down upon our heroes, something like that. But instead, we get two little kids playing with zombie action figures. It's hard to accept, but with a little bit of theory, it can be justified. Of course, what Treyarch should do now is have someone step up and justify the ending as well. Because the majority of people on the internet are going rage mode over this
-
Theory #2 happens to be what I'm thinking too. There are just too many complex things for two little kids to come up with. Not to mention the involvement of real life characters in the story.
-
It's too bad that not everyone is able to comprehend the ending. Now it's only a matter of time before good ol' Jimmy Z gets death threats like Vonderhaar

Origins EE "Little Lost Girl" Written Steps + Staffs
RdJokr replied to Ehjookayted's topic in Origins
Hmm... That would mean: Skewer the winged beast = shoot down the plane while using Zombie Blood Wield a fist of iron = upgrade the Thunderfist? Raise hell = kill zombies in Crazy Place Freedom = reach Agartha Well I'll be damned... Treyarch is really obsessed with Reznov and his plans  -
I think people are stressing what Samantha says at the beginning of the cutscene too far. Usually when you're trying to end a story, especially those stories you tell little kids, you always gotta say something weird and sound "fairy tale"-ish. Sort of like a "and they lived happily ever after". Just different wording.

OK, ignore my last post. Now to talk about the inconsistency in Origins: 1. The drone. Yes, Maxis' brain is used to operate the drone. However, who's to say that Maxis doesn't get a new body to use after that? If Richtofen somehow can create a quadrotor drone controlled by a single human brain, then brain transplant isn't all that hard to him. It's a possibility. 2. Maxis claiming Samantha to not be his daughter. As I said before, I came up with a theory that Samantha may not be Maxis' legitimate daughter. However, it is very possible that after Origins, Maxis adopted her. That clears up the whole confusion. That is, assuming that Maxis' wife is still alive in 1918. 3. Samantha present in 1918 Here's the biggest question of them all. Now answer this: how could a mere child possibly end up in Agartha? And how is she capable of controlling the zombies? Samantha remains a mystery to us all. Even when we thought we knew her, we still don't. Is she related to the ancient evil in any way? Is she a child of the devil? Seems likely, otherwise she wouldn't be able to control all this. Those reasons I stated above should be good enough to connect Origins to the rest of the zombies storyline. As for the kids not making up the rest of it, no arguments there. You nailed it.

Well that was a long read. I had a theory about Samantha that she may not be Maxis' legitimate daughter. But now that you brought up the Moon radios, seems like my theory is shot down So I guess Vonderhaar was right after all... Origins is only a possible view on how zombies were created. But at the same time, it's still a prequel to all the things we know. But then, how on earth did Samantha imagine Dempsey, Nikolai and Takeo?
-
All I can say is, with so much background stories and information we've been given these past years, we can't just simply view the ending of Origins as "two kids playing a game of Zombies". It's much deeper than that. It's a shocking surprise, but there's more to it. But then again, we won't know for sure until it's Treyarch's turn for their next COD now is it? Once again we play the waiting game.
-
Let's nor forget that there were various other maps with backstories and factions that came up waaaaaay after Samantha's time. Remember Five? Call of the Dead? Nuketown? How are you gonna tell me that two little kids somehow imagined real life political figures, celebrities, and CIA and CDC agents fighting against zombies? Not unless their mind exist outside the boundaries of space and time.

Not just that, but the blue eyes thing, and the hairstyle is the same. It's so unlikely that it isn't Richtofen. Yes, I'm aware of that. But what if he is not Richtofen, but rather his son? We don't know much about Richtofen's personal life. He could've got married and had a child. It could be Eddie Jr. And the blue eyes thing has been said before, the Nazis consider blue eyes and blonde hair to be superior. Eddie just has the same mindset, since he thinks zombies are superior. Here's another easy example: if my father and I had the same hairstyle, same name, and both preferred blue eyes, are we the same person? The answer is no, of course. The only proof that's solid enough to say Eddie is good ol' Richtofen is if we have some sort of certificate that says his full name. If there aren't any, then it's all just speculation
-
I feel that Treyarch is really playing with us, since pretty much everyone assumes that Eddie is Richtofen. There are no solid proofs for that, other than the similar name.
-
Are we even sure that cutscene takes place in 1917?
-
Probably not, since the drone shoots every zombie in sight. Wouldn't be wise to use this if the last zombie is chasing you.
-
I have some sort of theory for this: Basically, after supposedly freeing Samantha in Origins, she escapes Agartha and comes into the real world. The zombie outbreak is contained, and no one else knows aobut it, besides the O4, Maxis, Samantha and whichever members of Group 935 are still alive at the site. Maxis took her in as his daughter (of course, that would be after he has found a body to put his brain in  ). Samantha would try to tell a story of what happened that day when playing with her friends, specifically Eddie (who may or may not be related to Richtofen). But of course, he doesn't believe it's real, and he even thinks that Samantha doesn't know enough about zombies. Also, Samantha's last line about Maxis having a plan... Plus Eddie's wish for their heroes to "become real". I believe this is the moment where the super soldier test subjects are captured  That is what I think of this cutscene. Since I won't get Origins until September when it comes out for PC, I still don't have enough information, so some things may be flawed.

Origins EE "Little Lost Girl" Written Steps + Staffs
RdJokr replied to Ehjookayted's topic in Origins
I've been pointing that out since yesterday. I knew something was up when Samantha said "Step 3: Rain fire". The Campaign team sure is obsessed with Reznov. I LOL'ed so hard when I PaP'ed the AK47, and got Reznov's Revenge  -
Though it'd be more convincing if you have a gameplay video that leads up straight to the cutscene, achievement is fine with me. Now to wait till the mods see this and unlock the ending discussion thread
-
Sweet, will definitely be on a lookout for these bad boys once I get to play it :D
-
That's pretty much everyone's most hated gun. That, and the War Machine. At least the War Machine can do decent job when PaP'ed, but the SMR is just a total trainwreck. I'd rather have the M1911 than that.
-
4 ancient warriors who look like Dempsey, Nikolai, Takeo and Richtofen... Now why is it that Treyarch keeps making it seem like the meeting between these 4 are fated and not random coincidence BS?

How to get Thunder Punch Melee (Video + Text Tutorial)
RdJokr replied to speedmetal890's topic in Origins
The "fill chest" challenge only shows 1 medal per board, so does that means each player has to retrieve their Thunder Punch from different boxes?
