With DLC 4 being most likely the final piece of Official Zombies content for Black Ops 2 (Map Wise not Mule Kick for every map). It will be interesting to see how Treyarch will handle this. Currently our only clues to this is a loading screen, more specifically Buried or Resolution 1295.
Loading Screen
What we have here is the loading screen. On the top right we seen two points of interest. A ripped portion of the page leading to a blueprint, and on the bottom left corner, what looks like a page between Buried and this blueprint. The first thing that comes to mind with most of us, is Der Riese.
But before we scream remake. I think what we are most likely seeing, is the blueprint located at the top of all workbenches. ( I apologise for the quality of the picture, best I could find.)
So What Does This Tell Us?
Well, it depends on the way you interpret it. As much as it saddens me, the possibility of remakes for all Black Ops Zombies maps seems unlikely. What must be noted is that all four World at War Zombies Maps were done much before the announcement of Rezurrection. What could happen though, is the remake of one map. Perhaps one many state to be the pinnacle of zombies, Der Riese.
I mean it does make quite a bit of sense. You have the page hidden between Buried and the Blueprint, which could be the next map, whilst you have what could be Der Riese after it. It also makes a lot of sense given that the progression of story could ultimately give every reason to end where it began. This is also helped on the production side of things.
Zombies DLC is taken is turns. DLC 1 & 3 is handled by Zelinski's Zombie Team and DLC 2 & 4 is handled by the Campaign Team. So with DLC 4 being handled by the Campaign Team and DLC 3 now completed, Zelinski's Zombie Team could use this time to work on a remake of an old Zombies Map. It has happened to multiplayer with Studio & Uplink.
Otherwise, if it is not Der Riese and rather a blueprint, it could mean many things. One of my theories on DLC 4. If that it will instead contain two maps. My logic for this is that on Buried, the story line diverges to two separate timelines. One where Rictofen is successful and one where Maxis is. A map for each timeline makes sense given that on Maxis' timeline, he claims that he will destroy the Earth.
Regardless of what Treyarch do, I hope it is enough to keep us through a Zombie free year of Call of Duty as we head into Call of Duty: Ghosts.
Thank you for reading my post and I hope you enjoyed it, first time poster, long time lurker.
