  1. Ok, I’m not a storyteller, but I’m at work and bored so here goes. Let me know if a chapter 1 is worth my time. The Barracks Prologue We had heard rumours, I mean who hadn’t, but no-one really believed them. Rumours of “outbreaks” had been spread for some time but let’s be realistic here this is 1945 not the middle ages we don’t believe in such things there not real, or so we thought? Let me start by giving you a rundown of who ‘we’ are. There are four of us in our little group, I’m Sapper David Evans, Sapper Alexander Wilson, Sapper James Howard, and Sapper Lewis Jones all four of us privates in His Majesty’s British Armed Forces. We four were all Base Wallahs and because of this we were labelled cowards and were ignored by the most part by the rest of the regiment. In reality this was how we liked it, we quite often found or volunteered for menial tasks to keep us indoors and away from the toffee apples falling outside. Anyway I’m not here to reminisce; I want to tell you all what happened one Tuesday evening in January 1945. This was the first time I ever laid eyes on ‘them’. We were all stationed together in Linburg in the middle of an offensive that the CO’s are calling Operation Blackcock. We were pushing the Jerries back into their own back garden, and doing a damn fine job too on the whole. We four had managed to worm ourselves onto clean up in the mess hall after a rather bland bit of Bully Beef. It was a particularly miserable day out anyways and Jerry was having a right old time throwing them Blind Pigs everywhere. We were quite content to stay indoors and clean up just the four of us. After cleaning up we noticed that there was an eerie silence. There was no gunfire, no explosions, nothing. “Howard, go outside and see whats going on ” shouts Jones from across the Mess Hall, to which he replied “Piss off, you go”, charming. “Stop your bickering you two, I’ll take a look” I interrupted as a walked over to the hall to the door. As the door swung open all I could initially see was a deep grey mist had set in overhead. As my vision adjusted I noticed the Barracks, which were usually a torrent of activity mid-offensive, where like a ghost town. I glanced to either side of me and there was nothing but dirt. “Evans, what can you…” “Shhh!!!” I interrupted Wilson as I raised my left hand, signalling the others to pay attention. Off in the distance I could see a lone silhouette on the floor; it looked like a person laying there. I slowly began to strafe across the barracks towards the shadow, the other three came running up and followed me over. “It’ll be them fuckin Rhine Monkeys, there in the Barracks” Jones was ranting on behind me, He definitely had a mouth on him Jones. “Someone shut him up” I started to say as Howard clipped him over the back of the head. As we got closer to the silhouette it started to take the shape of Sargent Perry Shepherd, he lied there motionless on the floor. “Sarnt” I whispered as I pushed his leg with my foot. “Sarnt, it’s Evans. Something’s going on get up off the floor.” nothing. I got down to my knees and leant over Shepherd to check his breathing and noticed something parculiar. It was only a few hours ago we were in the mess hall getting a drilling from Sarnt Shepherd over the state of our Bunks during inspection, yet he looked long dead. . “Look at the state of him” Wilson commented and I had to agree. He was dead alright, but his face. He looked like a corpse which had laid there for a good 6 months. “Something’s amiss here Evans” “Yeah Howard I agree, we need to find someone” and with this we headed off towards the armoury as it was the closest building to where we were. As we approached the armoury, with our backs turned Shepherd’s rotting decrepit body rose to its feet and ran full bore at Howard letting out horrendous screeching sounds, his eyes lit up with a bright orange light. Wilson leapt into the air straight at Shepherd with his Cat Stabber in hand and plunged it into the Sarnt’s back several times. By this point Shepherd was atop of Howard “GET THIS FUCKER OFF ME, HE’S BITING, THE DIRTY BASTARDS BITING!!! ARGHH!!”. Wilsons attempts seemed futile as Shepherd just flung him aside like a rag doll. I drew my sidearm from its holster and fired three rounds straight between Shepherd’s eyes. This seemed to do the job as Shepherd’s body stopped moving once more as it slumped on top of Horward. Kicking Shepherd aside Jones ripped the sleeve from his top and tied it around Howards left arm which had been gnawed pretty badly, as I lifted Wilson back to his feet. Howard didn’t look too good, his eyes were rolling around, he was as white as a sheet and he had lost a lot of blood. “We need to find a doctor Evans” Jones stated “grab his other arm and let’s get him to the infirmary”. As we walked towards the infirmary, which was behind the mess hall, there was a faint howling sound in the background. “What is that?” said Wilson “This is all wrong, we need to move… NOW!”. Just as he said this we came around the corner of the mess hall to be faced with around 8 of our regiment all standing there. None of them were moving just staring at the ground, their faced rotting and their eyes ablaze in orange. We turned to go the other way, but the mist in the distance began to form the shape of people, people running, people getting closer. But these were not people, at least not any more. The orange from their eyes danced around in the mist at they got closer, their screeching and wailing getting louder. The sound seemed to stir the others, breaking from their trance they turned and stared at us and started heading towards us. We were surrounded, former colleagues on either side of us heading towards us at pace, and with ravenous intent. We had no option but to drop back into the Mess hall, the building with only one exit. We kicked the door open and laid Howard on a table as Wilson held the door shut. We then used the other tables to board up the windows. This was only the start of our evening. In a room with only one way out and the windows boarded, surrounded by….. Zombies.

  3. ^ Was just thinking the same thing, two weeks in and still discovering. I wonder what else there could be?
  4. Fair point.
  5. Thanks, Haven't had it confirmed yet whether the four revives I put are correct. Are there any other ways to revive? Maybe whilst is Zombie Blood is one instead of with QR?
  6. This is a very cool way to describe EE's to people, it gives both visual and informative aids. Maybe you could at a narrative box with brief instructions in addition to the speech bubbles. Excellent idea, the Buried opening you used look sweet.
  7. Origins Achievement / Trophy Guide Thought it would be handy to have a single port of call for all the achievements associated with Origins. I have compiled below a list of each of the achievements with their corresponding Gamerscore / Trophy and details of how to achieve the same. If anyone has any little hints or tips to make any of these easier please post them below and I will update the OP with any additions. Not a Gold Digger - In Origins, share a weapon you dug up. (5 (G)) (Bronze) This is by far one of the easiest achievements to date. Grab a shovel and dig, if the dig reveals a weapon then let a team mate pick it up instead of taking it for yourself. If your team-mates are like most of those I find myself playing with they are more than likely to run past you and snatch the weapon you dig up anyways, so job done. I’m on a Tank! - In Origins, ride the tank around the map without getting off. (10 (G)) (Bronze) Pretty self-explanatory, you just stay on the tank. Around half way through its trip the tank will stop and cool down, in order to stay on it you could attempt to hold off the inevitable Zombie onslaught for what seems like an eternity until the tank is ready to roll, or if you have a nice team-mate he could run a Zombie in the middle somewhere whilst you go for a ride hassle free. Just remember to return the favour for them once you get off. All Your Base - In Origins, activate all generators without allowing one to stop. (15 (G)) (Bronze) Another straight forward achievement, in order to activate the generators you need to spend points. The number of points required is 200 for each person in the game, but is only paid by one person not all (e.g. If 3 people are playing the generators are 600 points each to power up). The generators are the same as domination flags in multiplayer (well almost the same, the generators don’t have a camping dick-face sat in a bush watching for you to come with a target-finder LMG trained directly on the flag); you just hang around until the counter fills up. The points you spend activating generators are returned to you once you complete the activation, but only if you are still on the platform when the generator is complete. Therefore it isn’t very wise to set one off then run away whilst the others capture it, you will lose the points invested. In addition to these points being returned an additional 100 points are awarded to anyone stood on the platform when it completes so help out when the generators are being captured. The Templar style Zombies re-appear at the start of round 10 and start kicking the shit out of the generators to shut them down so your best bet is to power up all 6 early on to save having to chase after them to get this achievement. This is pretty easy to do though, round 6 normally for me. Kung Fu Grip - In Origins, free yourself and another from the Panzer Soldat’s claw in one game. (15 (G)) (Bronze) This achievement requires you to allow the Panzer Soldat (Scorpion to you and me) to grab you and pull you towards him. Once he does this just shoot the glowing red spot of his arm which the claw came from and he will drop you. That is the easy bit, the more difficult part of this achievement is to convince a team-mate to allow Scorpion to grab him and then not shoot the spot and have faith that you will do it for him. As with the tank, if you purposely go for this achievement and you don’t get it just at random, please return the favour for the man who took a bullet (or claw in this instance) for you. Master of Disguise - In Origins, use Zombie Blood to revive three players and activate a generator in one game. (15 (G)) (Bronze) This again is easy with a little help from your friends. Once you have Zombie Blood get your friends to down themselves so you can get three revives, and as for the generator take the Zombie Blood you get for activating generator 1 and leg it to generator 2 or 3 and activate it. Not sure if you need to complete the activation sequence of the generator whilst still in Zombie Blood or if it can run out mid activation and it still count. If anyone could advise I will update accordingly. Saving the Day...All Day - In Origins, revive another player four different ways in one game. (20 (G)) (Bronze) Whilst I haven’t completed this one yet, I think I have the four ways: 1) Standard Revive 2) Standard Revive with Quick Revive 3) Revive with an Ultimate Staff 4) Revive with the Maxis Drone Overachiever - In Origins, complete all 4 Challenges in one game. (25 (G)) (Bronze) Challenges are listed in the starting room on a plaque above the box which gives you Zombie Blood for capturing generator 1, and also at another box located at generator 6. Three of the four challenges are player specific and the fourth is a team effort (although on solo it can still be done). In addition to gaining this achievement each challenge awards you a prize which you can claim at any time by returning to either of the plaques. The rewards are listed below with the challenges Challenge 1 Get 115 Normal Zombie Headshots This challenge is pretty easy really as it will be completed naturally during the progression of your game. Please note however that headshots to Templar Zombies do not count, so there is no boosting your headshots on early rounds by activating and stepping off the generators. Reward: Free PaP’d Assault Rifle (different ones each time) Challenge 2 Activate all 6 Generators In the same way as detailed earlier in the thread, please be aware though that you only get this challenge complete if you are on each generator platform as it completes, I have had games where me and a friend have had all 6 running but neither of us got the challenge as we went our separate ways and neither one of us did all 6. Please also note that once complete you do not need to have all 6 running to go and claim your prize. Reward: 1 Max Ammo (Very useful if not collected until desperate ) Challenge 3 Spend 30,000 Points When I first read this I thought it said 300,000 points and I Was like WTF but upon closer inspection it is only 30,000. The doors, debris, weapons, perks, and generators in this game are all very expensive so spending these points really isn’t a challenge at all. Reward: Double Tap 2.0 (Other than Der Wunderfizz this is the only way to get DT2, don’t collect until you have 4 perks ) Challenge 4 Fill 4 Chests to Capacity This is the most awkward of all the Challenges, but also the most rewarding. Scattered around the excavation site there are four chests, on route to Generator 4 from the site, one behind generator 4, one next to generator 5, and one just before the church on route to generator 6. Each of these chests is to be filled with an undetermined number of Zombie ‘Souls’ (as if Zombies have Souls ) I found that by rounds 7/8 it is 1 round per chest (roughly). Please be aware that each chest is located within a Giant’s footprint any only Zombies killed in the shape of the footprint will donate their ‘souls’ to the chest. Also watch out for the Giants because each time they step in the footprint the chest lid closes and you have to start filling it again. You will know a chest is complete when it disappears into the ground. The best way to fill these chests from my experience is as early as possible, and pick a chest where a Giant has just been to maximise your time before it gets reset. Watch out for Nukes and avoid using the Maxis Drone, as kills from these will not count. Another odd thing I noticed is that if you dig up a Zombie and kill it near a chest that doesn’t count either, dug up Zombies have no souls!!! Once all four chests are complete claim your prize in the usual way. Reward: The Punch with no Name (Technically it has many names, everyone refers to it as something but I haven’t seen anything official. This punch is a one hit kill at least to round 19 Good Times) I’m not going to write up a step-by-step for these last three as there are already loads around this and other sites, follow this link to a topic by Ehjookayted, it is very thorough and easy to follow. I will however give a brief what’s what for each. Please be advised that this link does contain spoilers for the main Easter Egg and ending cutscene Thanks Ehjookayted BTW this guide made fathoming Origins soooo much easier Playing with Power - In Origins, build all elemental staffs in one game. (30 (G)) (Bronze) The staffs are pretty easy to build, you can quite easily have all these done before the end of round 8 if you take your time. Master Wizard - In Origins, wield all of the ultimate staffs in one game. (40 (G)) (Bronze) How to upgrade each staff to its ultimate form is in the topic linked above, the hardest part of this achievement is getting randoms to swap staffs with you, especially if they have Fire / Lightening. They think you are just after stealing their staff, people are so untrusting. Play with friends when you do this one. Little Lost Girl - In Origins, release Samantha. (75 (G)) (Silver) The Über Achievement of Origins, the full guide is in the topic linked above. Once you have done with this let me know what you think of the ending on the topic below. If you haven’t completed this yet or seen the ending this link has spoilers so proceed with caution. So that’s it a list of all the achievements / trophies and how to achieve them. I hope I didn’t waffle on for too long and thank you for taking the time out to read my post. Any suggestions, amendments clarifications or additions to are welcome just let me know below and I will amend this post.
  8. I guessed as much, it could just be Treyarch's artistic licence on the Zombie design to make them look fiercer (but that's doubtful). I agree there has to be something here, and thanks.
  9. :?: This is similar to what I was getting at. But rather than two varieties of the same substance, two independent elements/substances combined into one substance through a chemical reaction to form a compound. Vrilium :D
  10. Vril, Element 115, and Origins Being relatively new to the whole Zombies experience I am finding the plethora of theories and assessments surrounding the Zombie storyline fascinating. One of the most ubiquitous subjects is Vril. This substance has captured my attention had has had me scouring the darkest corners of the internet and I thought I would share my thoughts. The Vril Society I’d like to start IRL if I may with an organisation known as The Vril Society (VS). There a differing opinions on when VS was first formed, it is either in Venice in 1917 or in Germany after WW1 (In either case it is purported that it was these occult beliefs that the Nazi Regime was founded upon). It is believed that VS were the ‘Mother’ of the Nazi Party and that many high ranking Nazi officials were in fact members of VS, including Adolf Hitler himself. VS was a very peculiar set of individuals they believed in an energy known as Vril, which is described as an invisible beam of infinite light emitted from The Black Sun. VS conducted a number of different rituals in search of Vril, from peaceful ceremonials and meditation, right through to the sacramental murder of children. It is documented that people have borne witness to Hitler undertaking the sacrificing of people in search of Vril by ripping out their hearts while they still beat (Dum Di Dum Dum, Dum Di Dum) The most striking fact surrounding VS is that all these beliefs are founded upon a work of science fiction known as The Power of The Coming Race, often simply referred to as The Coming Race. This novel was written by Edward Bulwer-Lytton and published in 1870. The book detailed a race of people known as Vril-Ya who lived below the surface of the Earth and had full control of Vril, an ‘all-permeating fluid’ of limitless power. Vril Now Vril itself is said to be an intangible energy which when harnessed has pretty much ultimate power. It can command control over all types of matter, both animate and inanimate. It can destroy or replenish life, heal, or cure. It is used to allow people to pass through solid matter. It can also be used as a power source for animating mechanisms. (hmmm, such as giant 1000ft robot mechanisms?) In the novel it is said that Vril can be harnessed by use of the Vril staff. A Vril staff is an object in the shape of a wand or a staff which is used as a channel for Vril, in which Vril can be altered, modified or directed to either destroy or heal. The staff is about the size of a walking stick but can be lengthened or shortened according to the user's preferences. The appearance and function of the Vril staff differs , some staves are more potent for destruction, others for healing. (sound familiar) In essence Vril would be ‘God-Mode’ giving you the ability to do whatever you desired to anyone or anything at any time (Vril is Brill). It’s worth noting at this point that Vril is quite often written as Vryal, If you wish to look further into the society its worth researching both spellings. Our Story I could go on about the fascinating world of VS and all the weird and deranged things they got up to, but that’s not why we are here now is it. We are here for Zombies! In our story Element 115 is the apparent source of the Zombie outbreak as well as all the time distortion, mystical weapons and drinks, etc… but what if this is not the case. As Origins shows us ‘the Ancients’ had ultimate power at their disposal in the form of four staves, however this may not be the result of element 115, the fictitious Vril detailed above is more likely the source of these staves powers. As detailed above a Vril Staff holds devastating power and can also be used to heal, just like our staves can. Further evidence of this is from the markings of The Black Sum at the Excavation site. Now I am going ‘against the grain’ as it were here, please read on before dismissing. I do not believe that Element 115 is the reason behind the whole “cell reanimation, shoot shit though time, drinking makes you stronger” phenomenon we are experiencing. (What a non-believer, lynch him) My theory is that E 115 has chemical properties unlike anything here on Earth, just not in the way we were led to believe. I think that E 115 is somehow able to absorb the omnipresent Vril in the Earth’s atmosphere and infuse it into its own molecular structure, which in turn is making the once unobtainable Vril a tangible material that can be manipulated by the human hand. It is this E 115 / Vril Cocktail (Which I will now be calling Vrilium) is what was found when the meteor landing site was investigated. Not knowing of the presence of Vril and the fact that it had combined with E 115, group 935 took what they found as a purely Extra Terrestrial element. The Nazi’s then commenced experimenting with this new found Vrilium and discovered a whole range of adaptations that this amazing element could be used for and commenced construction of giant mechanical soldiers to stomp across the battlefield laying waste to all who oppose them. Regretfully this was not enough for the Nazi’s and they began experimentation in a whole range of fields including chemistry and biology. They were unaware of how to correctly harness and control the Vrilium as they had not dedicated generation upon generation of meditation and self-control as the Vril-Ya had to ‘keep hold of the reins’ whilst in command of such power. It was this lack of knowledge which led to the subsequent reanimation of the dead, the Zombies. (and lets be thankful it did too otherwise how would we all spend our spare time, living our lives in the real world? Pah) After playing Origins this is how I envisage all of this started. Let me know what you think of my Vrilium theory below, is it a plausible possibility of the Origins of the Zombie Outbreak, or is it all bull-shite. Either way seeing as though it was all a game it doesn’t matter does it. As a side note though if it all is a game then this theory could hold some truth. Samantha’s dad could have had a copy of The Power of The Coming Race which her and Eddie had read and used to base their games off. Just saying that’s all! Thanks for taking the time to read this dribble, I’m out.

Sorry I cannot get on my xbox for a day or so I haven't checked theater. If it is on (and I think it will be) then maybe it isnt 115 powering it at all? http://www.callofdutyzombies.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=155&t=36317

    Mule-Kick

Good point. Something is more than likely powering everything down there independently of the generators. I'm at work now but I'm going to Theater round 1 as suggested earlier when I get home and take a nosey.
  13. My photo-shop skills aren't the best but I've given it a go. Is this the type of thing you are after?
  14. Hi Yourmapper, its looking good. Is it worth adding 'Der Wunderfizz' Machine locations? Also the buy-able barrier is missing to get to no mans land from the room joining gen2 & gen3
  15. Is the Shield in Buried? I have to go for the Shield for functionality and the head-chopper just for shits and giggles. That thing is beast though, it kills Zombies when nothing else can (infinity mode)

    Mule-Kick

Derp! I Don't use theater much.

    Mule-Kick

Good idea, will you be able to get your camera down there though before opening the entrance?
  18. Wooodd

    Mule-Kick

I might have to investigate. Could try and get there without turning on any generators and see if its powered, then do them one by one if it isn't. Do they need to all be on to open the lower level? Thought it was just a case of putting down the gramophone with the disc in, din't think the generators were needed.
  19. Fair point, the list would be a mile long before you know it. Don't think its the same though, no staves, PaP, Mule-Kick, and no entry to the Crazy Place for an easy place to train. Yes it is one debris, opening one side opens the other for you too.

    Mule-Kick

So does anyone know which generator (if any) powers Mule-Kick? It always seems to be on. Its a bit odd if this perk machine doesn't need power when everything else does. :?
  21. I've gone for Generators 4-6. Without these generators you loose a lot: No Jugg (Damn windmill armed zombie b*st*rds) No Stamin-up (Damn Mud) No Wunderfizz (It always starts at 4 or 5 for me) No Fire-Staff (The head of the staff is for doing generator 6) No PaP Machine ( ... ) As well as this it limits the mystery box, if it moves to the wrong place you screwed. Also may I make a suggestion for the list, no opening the excavation site. This eliminates all staffs and PaP machine at the same time.

    The Panzer

Thanks. Could prove useful early on. I've only ever been back there when the tank has been parked there, probably why I never saw it.
  23. Wooodd

    The Panzer

Wait... There's a switch in the tank station to call the tank? Pretty obvious that there would be thinking about the name of it and all, but how the f*#k did I miss this? Could you let me know where it is please.

Ahh, that makes sense, thanks Lithium
  25. Using Red Dwarf to adequately and concisely explain theories regarding Zombies, Genius. No wonder you have LEGEND under your name.
