So I hadn't seen anyone else do this yet so I'm starting a thread to discuss 'whos on the slab' in the Origins cinematic. I personally think its just a Zombie being dicected, mainly because of the concept art hidden in the trailer [ No beard and hes certainly looks all messed up and zombified. This could however be a 'spaceholder zombie' because they had not decided on Maxis' appearence at that point. I'm not rueling out it being Maxis altogether becaise I like the theory I've seen on a few posts about Maxis havin his brain removed to be reimplanted in a younger body. Would explain his age. A little far fetched though and what would happen to him. I mean if your in the middle of a lobotomy (as you do) and a 1000 ft robot tries to stamp on you the last thing on your mind is going to be "oh, I better sew this poor chap back together" iys going to be more like "@!&& @*#? %%@* ##&@ @%#@?!! #?!&@ !?5#&". Then Maxis is left scalpless tied to a table. Splat There are similarities though, and not just the beard. Let me know your thoughts. Maxis, Zombie, or Other....

Thanks, I considered making Richtofen an Elf, but I am at work :D
-
Never noticed this the first 20 times watching the trailer . You just gave me an excuse to watch it for the 21st time and your right, they definitely know who each other are, its all over their body language.

Excellent post as always Lithium. I cannot wait until Tuesday, and your post got me even more hyped. Also, Here ya go MaxiMillion, its Maxis Claus!

Don't know if they would listen or not. How many people are still buying the map packs? Can't be many now. Bundling the Zombies maps separate may inject fresh sales for them for very little work. Just got to get the message to them that there is a demand, I'm sure they would supply!

Anyone else think its about time they reduced the BLOPS 1 map pack prices or made one pack for all Zombies maps. BLOPS 2 has ignighted a love for Zombies I never had before, and I really want to play the other maps. 1200msp per map (I have no interest in MP so the other maps dont count) is way too expensive, I think all Zombies maps for 2000 msp would be reasonable. Maybe we should start some sort of petition. Who should this b aimed at? Activision or Treyarch?
-
Some nice ones there. Invert controls would be hilarious. Just with Treyarch had thought about it. Probably too late to impliment it now, but if your reafing this Zelinski pull ya finger art. :D

When Grief was first announced I was excited about the idea of battling against other teams for kills, but I don't think Treyarch went far enough with the ways you can with the other team. Other than the traps on MotD there is nothing you can really do. I think that there should be 'Power Down' drops as well as power ups that hinder the other team if you collect them. A few ideas I've had for these are: Empty Clip - does what it says, empties the clip of every opposing team members guns so thy all have to reload (like when a Zombies collects a max ammo in turned) Half Points - pretty self-explanatory Sponge Zombies - the opposite to Insta kill so Zombies just absorb the opposing teams bullets and take no damage (although this may be a little op) Siren - the other team all emit a sound which attracts nearby zombies (like monkeys) Treyarch could have made this game mode great, but as it stands its basically just 8 man zombies. They could also have made a FFA element to Grief too. Let me know what you think, should they have done more with Grief? What ideas do you have for 'Power Downs' or other ways to mess with people?

Insightful. I'd never put the connection of the map packs names together with the orogress of war. Interesting. :)

Thanks to you all for the kind comments regarding my theorising I appreciate it. As you can tell I get pretty bored at work. Dont worry about the hostility I understand it, RUVA seems to be a sore subject to everypne on here and I knew that before writing the post. I expected much nore hostility if I'm honest. I was just putting a new perspective to the initial theories and if I'm truly honest I don't think this is going anywhere. You can find a connection between anything if you look deep enough. Plus it beats work!

Ok so I want to talk about FEAR RUVA, and before everyone starts with the whole why are we talking about this again there’s nothing in it business hear me out. This maybe a ‘red-herring’ and I might be wasting your time but if you weren't reading this what would you be doing (working, school??). So I’m sure most people have Googled RUVA and found that it is a girl’s name, a Company that makes sunbeds, and a protein. Well the only correlation we have to a girl’s name is the fact that Samantha and Misty are girls (WOW, the whole Zombie enigma is solved right there), and whilst I don’t want skin cancer I don’t think that is enough of a reason to ‘fear’ sunbeds his only leaves the RuvA Protein. Time for a Biochemistry lesson, whoop!! In short the RuvA Protein is part of the RuvABC complex of proteins that branch migration in Holliday junctions created during homologous recombination in bacteria. Simple right, allow me to break this down further: A Holliday junction is a mobile junction between four strands of DNA for a particular type of exchange of genetic information known as homologous recombination. Homologous recombination is a type of genetic recombination in which nucleotide sequences (the basic building blocks of DNA) are exchanged between two similar or identical molecules of DNA. It is most widely used by cells to accurately repair harmful breaks that occur on both strands of DNA, known as double-strand breaks. Homologous recombination also produces new combinations of DNA sequences during meiosis, the process which makes gamete (a cell that fuses with another cell during fertilization (conception) in organisms that reproduce sexually) cells, like sperm and egg cells in animals. This is getting hard-core now; if you are under 18 ask your mother!! Now in viruses homologous recombination is important for viral evolution. For example, if the genomes of two viruses with different disadvantageous mutations undergo recombination, then they may be able to regenerate a fully functional genome. Alternatively, if two similar viruses have infected the same host cell, homologous recombination can allow those two viruses to swap genes and thereby evolve more potent variations of themselves. RuvA and RuvB bind to the four strand DNA structure formed in the Holliday junction intermediate, and migrate the strands through each other. That’s enough of that, Yawn!!!, but I interpret this as RuvA being a protein which Binds DNA with together whilst it is being repaired or replicated. Now if RuvA is exposed to an element which alters its mechanism or function in some way, could the result be a change in the DNA of the host that has been infected? RuvA may be nothing, or it may be everything. The protein which binds together DNA whilst it alters, if tainted could be the true cause of the Zombie infection, and element 115 merely a catalyst which alters RuvA in such a way that the DNA is altered to create a mind-less dumb creature we all know as Vahn, oops I mean Zombie. Now I’m not a Biochemist or Microbiologist so I could be way off the mark with my interpretation of this and if I am then I apologise profusely for wasting your time. Also this maybe a bit too deep even for Treyarch, going beyond the molecular structure of DNA to a binding protein just to have initials for map-pack names really is overkill, and does anyone even care how element 115 alters the body to create zombies. Is the why important, or is it just that it does? Let me know what you think, hate me if you will for bringing this stupid, dead, non-topic back to the boards, but give me your opinions too.

Do we think thay they are going to make a stand-alone version of Zombies? I can see two coming. Zombies : Richtofen & Zombies : Maxis Continuing on from each side of the Bruied EE with the N4 trying to put a stop to the Zombie onslaught. Buried was hardly an end to the N4's story is it. Whats your thoughts on a stand-alone game? I really hope they continue this series as if only just started playin zombies and I want for theories and speculation to ponder over. Plus shootin zombies is hella fun.
-
I hope they have a work around for this. my console struggles with just zombies at round 20 and up. never mind planes, gaint robots, mechanical zombies, a tsnk, and Richtofens ego... i'm worried it will b too much for it to handle. I think its all part of a masterplan to overload our 360's to the point they explode so we gotta go art n get xbones. crafty...

Im on Xbox. GT as username.

How do you tell which you got / or do you have to hit at certain time for good / bad? and yeah its round 10 I wait for it to b*gger off on.
-
So apparently this perk increases your odds of getting good quality merchandise from your purchase at the box. Is it just me or is this just Bull Feces? Whenever that little brown b**stard sits atop my box I get nothing but snipers and war machines. Does this only happen to me, has the teddy got a vendetta against me, or does anyone else get the same treatment? When he isn't there I'm fine, but as soon as that flash comes I am not hitting that box until he gone done f**ked of at round 10.

Here's a link to the COD Wiki with a list of them http://callofduty.wikia.com/wiki/Persistent_Upgrades
-
I think if you die (i.e. bleed out or fall off) you come back without them, but if you are revived you get them, that's the perma-perk. Or at least this is me experience of it.
-
WOW! Mind = Blown
-
We now have the adage of the Red Baron's location and year of death in relation to the upcoming map so perhaps...
-
Thanks, there are too many similarities for it to be coincidence me thinks!
-
I've never noticed any correlation between MotD and the perma's on the other maps. Always though that MotD was a stand-alone by the Multi-player team to give the Zombie crew more time to work on something. Do you know how to rid yourself of the dreaded (or loved) perma-tombstone. I'm concerned that I've had it so long now that if a lose it I wouldn't know what to do after I get downed. You get too reliant on these things.

I'm sure most people have heard of the 'Red Baron', a famous German WW1 fighter pilot, but what you may not be aware of is that his real name was Manfred Albrecht Freiherr von Richthofen!!! Looking into the history of the Red Baron, I'll link the Wikipedia entry at the bottom, he was shot down and killed in aerial combat near Amiens on 21 April 1918. Amiens is in France and the Red Baron died at the time the 'Origins' map is set to take place. Considering the locale and timing of the Red Barons death in relation to the games location (and the Biplane on the 'Origins' reveal trailer) is it conceivable that our beloved Nazi Crackpot is in fact the Red Baron himself, and that his death in 1918 was a lie to allow him to pursue his goal of Zombie greatness upon his discovery of E115. Now I know that Richtofen is referred to as Dr. Edward Richtofen but the Dr. could be self-appointed (or even a doctorate earned later) and Edward could be used as a cover name to hide his true identity. I think that this is entirely plausible, they even look alike (to me). What do you think, here is a pic of each of them for you to compare. Obviously our Crazy German is a lot older but they are certainly alike wouldn't you agree. So from this I conclude that Richtofen is the Red Baron and his death in France in 1918 was a cover-up. I've rambled on too long now (I should be working) so let me know what you think, I have stumbled on something or are these the ramblings of a madman who has not had enough sleep and has an overactive imagination? Here's the Wikipedia entry if you want to look into this for yourselves: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manfred_von_Richthofen

Do any of you think that the perma-perks (or persistent upgrades if were being pedantic) will be in 'Origins'? I hope not. So far they have only appeared on the maps that contain the new characters. To me it just shows that these characters are pansies and cannot handle the Zombie onslaught. With origins were back to playing as a Marine, a Samurai, a Russian Drunk, and a Craaaaaaazy German (Man I love Richtofen). These hard B**tards don't need carrying through the game. Being serious though I'm sick of perma-perks now. They were novel to start with but now there just plain aggravating. Take Perma-Tombstone, I earned it with a friend to see if it was real after watching a you-tube vid and now I can't get rid of it. I've played around 30 games since gaining it and I just cannot shake it off, anyone know how to lose it? Answers on a Post-Card please. They should remove them from the game now I think. They make the game too easy when you have them and getting the flashes and sounds every 30 seconds through the game is annoying as hell. Let me know what your view are, I've had enough of them.

Is anyone else concerned about these bit metal dudes? I want to play zombies not 'The Iron Giant'. :? Seriously though it could be interesting, those giants are pretty huge (hence the name), perhaps we aren't against them but in them. Fighting zombies inside a giant robot while it stops around shaking everything up ????? I really hope that they re-master all the old maps for BO2 in DLC4, or even a bonus DLC5 (I'd pay a bit more on top of the season pass for that). Only got into zombies on BO2 so not really played any of the previous. Tried catching up on the story of the game online but it's too complex and I think I need to play through to understand.
