  1. I have no issue with us discussing this in more depth, I don't see the problem, others see a problem with it. We will agree to disagree, sure it's always nice to welcome some new who posts in the introduction, however, as Boom will tell you, people who did post an introduction sometimes didn't receive a reply at all. I think an automated response, although not ideal is a step forward. Let me just clarify what happens upon a new registration. A new member will receive the following. A welcome email A welcome PM Forum welcome message, which will display at the top of the forum for 1 hour after registration And posting an introduction supplies a member with the following. Auto reply So why is the message not the same for all, well, a member may register but never actually say anything, want to do anything. However, a member that takes the time to make an introduction after regsitering is more likley to stick around (imo).
  2. These are the posts that add no substance whatsoever to the forum. However they never seem to be addressed. I think the reasoning is that post pumping seems to be in a grey area. Duplicate posts seem to be on the rise. Folks starting up new threads daily for information that we have already worked on months ago. As stated in the CoC it is on the members to know the previously posted content. Is this no longer the standard? Signatures- If you look at my signature below it is well above the maximum size. However compared to most it is quite modest. I understand at one time there was an issue with people adding 14 huge pictures to their signatures and it taking quite some time to scroll through the page. So the current state is that no one seems to follow this rule so I would recommend amending it, removing it, or enforcing it. For a CoC we shouldn't pick and choose which rules to follow, ya feel me? As far as what needs added, you tell me. What are your day-to-day issue that you can do nothing about because to rules have been set to prevent it? I'm not a fan of post pumping, we have a topic bump feature for the author of a topic to bump it to the front but it an individual user has a limit as to how many they can "bump" on a daily basis. Members post pumping, is a bug bare but difficult to monitor and enforce. We will inevitably miss them and I would request that the community uses the report post function and give an explanation as to why it is being reported. We cna then take the relevant action. Signatures, it is currently a setting which cannot be broken by a member, we can change the rules for it and so forth and I would be happy to discuss this in the meeting as to how we go about it. As for duplicates topics/posts - if we see them, we deal with them (at least I try to) but it is a difficult thing to do. What we can probably do, is take responsibility for a forum section each and assign that person to those forum (acp setting can do this) - it doesn't have any effect on the current way things work, it just means you have a point of contact for a specific section and it would be their responsibility to deal with anything that arises within that section? I'm oldskool, so I of a different mindset to most on this forum. I'm a firm believer in forum "etiquette" - something that a lot of new forum users or younger generation won't even be aware of. Here is some forum etiquette things that should be followed, these aren't rules - they are just unwritten rules of the forum world. 1. Read the forums rules and guidelines before posting for the first time. 2. Search the other posts to see if your topic is already covered. (This is a biggy of mine, every forum should have a search funtion, it's like google, it serves a purpose). 3. Use a meaningful title for your thread. 4. Do not use a forum to promote your product, service or business. 5. Be civil. Personal differences should be handled through email or IM and not through posts displayed to everyone. 6. Stay on topic. 7. Ignore spammers, respond to them personally and not through the board, or report them. 8. Do not submit a post that requires readers to download a large attachment. Either explain the attachment or, better yet, provide a link to the information. 9. Use plain text over HTML if you want your post to be readable by everyone. 10. In order to be understood by most people, use correct spelling, grammar and avoid slang unless you know the word or phrase will be understood by other members. 11. Do not double post (post the same message twice in one thread) or cross post (place the same message across several forums). 12. Act in a give and take manner; help others as often as or more than you ask for help. 13. Do not use all caps or SHOUT in your posts. In addition, one exclamation point is enough. 14. When replying to a post, do not quote more from the previous post than you have to. 15. Do not post new problems on someone else's thread and interrupt a topic of discussion. 16. Do not use someone else’s thread for a private conversation. 17. Most forums prohibit warez, cracks or illegal downloading of software and similar topics. 18. Watch your sense of humor, posts may be read by people from a variety of backgrounds and ages. 19. Do not use a huge and annoying signature, a modest signature is fine, moderators may remove large ones anyway. 20. Do not post any information that you want private. Posts should not contain personal, identifiable information or content embarrassing to others. 21. Do not post content that violates copyright. 22. Do not post ”empty” or useless responses, such as just ”lol” or ”cool.” Only post responses when you have something to contribute. 23. Write concisely and do not ramble. 24. Do not use words like ”urgent” or ”important” in your subject line, be patient. 25. Do not chastise newbies.
  3. Sithbas, if the high rounds is legitimate then fair play and well done. Got to give you kudos for it. However, if the high rounds are not legitimate and the evidence (including what you have posted online and those with more knowledge than myself have said). Is that the downs are suspicious, and the kill counts are suspicious on one of the videos as well. If a DDOS attack was happening, then you will know that a DDOS attack was happening and will have a snapshot of the traffic that you had been hit by as a result of this DDOS attack? You can also ask your ISP to check the records and to supply you with this information, whether they supply it you is a different question. Do you agree that QR on solo, revives you? Do you agree that no known bug exists, that when you have QR it will not revive you but end the game? Do you have the full recordings for the maps in question that can clear your name? Do you agree that in five, that the bodies mounted up beside the table, indicate that the table glitch was used on Five? Do you have an explanation to counter that argument? It's not just wingsofoblivion that are questioning those high rounds, the community is questioning those high rounds. I also have to say, that the post you made on sithbas.com and linked above, doesn't answer the questions that people (including from this site, and from the community in general) are asking for you to answer. With concrete evidence, which can only be done with a full video, unedited, showing round by round, kill by kill. I know you are a friend of choppers and others and Chopper mentioned he spoke with you about it and discussed it at length (as he posted earlier) & he made a very good argument on your behalf. However, it doesn't get away from the fact, that you need to supply evidence, people aqre just not buying the defence you have put up on Sithbas.com - it doesn't have any evidence to prove otherwise.
  4. We are all robots, at least you have a title
  5. Chopper, I'm not one to get involved usually. However, can Sithbas explain why he had 4 perks including QR on Shangri La, throuighs a grenade (which apparently switches off godmode), goes down but doesn't get revived by himself? If he didn't have godmode on, I seen no reason to throw a grenade at the point he did, it wouldn't have done anything as it was thrown into nothing. Solo and QR= You go down, you revive yourself. I don't know the guy and I don't know wings but I would say, that is extremely suspect.
  6. So we do, I forgot about that, can we implement a submit function to it, to allow members to submit themselves? Maybe have them combined under the one banner leaderboards and allow members to submit scores to each map?
  7. That would just be a case of a simple submit form and table structure, I think we can do something with this. Will bring it up and the next meeting.
  8. DBZ is referring to using the staffs x 3 and being in the cray place for easy access to them, I'm pretty certain DBZ utilises behind tank station strategy.
  9. Oh it's a glitch for sure.
  10. Nah, on any map, not just this one a mic is "not" required "at all". Communication is done in many ways without a mic. Repeatedly stabbing a door - or location or by shooting at it and hitting the player for example, then shooting to the location is a simple yet effective method, although granted, some people just have no concept of the what is trying to be relayed to them and I do plug the MIC in on occasion and shout "open the f***ing door".
  11. On another note, you can see who supplied brains and when - I just had a quick look at the settings enabled and disabled and realised I had it on the wrong setting (doesn't effect anything, just improves it). It's not enabled but it can be with a switch of a button, we'll need to look into in more in depth.
  12. 1: It was intended and it's just been found out. 2: It wasn't and it's just recently been found out 3: If it's 1 or 2, patch it so that it can't be done 4: In fact, absolutely no current reason exists as to why you can't patch any of the existing zombie maps with wall glitches and so forth, you will know them, you know the community hate them - show some love and patch them all.
  13. Welcome aboard, great to have another new member - stick around, you'll find many useful and many friendly people with some great theories and strategies to assist.
  14. Point well made Cody and taken on board. Less is more as they say and having the one "like" button is more than enough but we can do more if it is needed.
  15. The waw, BO's and BO's II all have der riese, if the fields are empty they don't show. You don't need to put none in Xbox, Steam profile don't enter anything and the field won't show. PSN doesn't need all the other information - it just needs PSN name Example:
  16. I have a plan, something that would work well. Something that would allow you to supply brains but also supply likes and thanks and things like that. Need to look into it more but I have a plan to take forward to everyone
  17. Well, here is a snap shot of a message that I'm sending the company kitchensforsaleliverpool1 So anyone else wants to spam the inbox and the phone line, feel free.
  18. I had another one last night but this time I was doubled up in laughter from the sheer ineptitude or the will to kill another player, I'll go with the latter. Someone put the trample steam at the end of the slide towards the box, I wasn't hitting the box as I didn't need to, however, sliding down pinged me back, then slid down again but never made it the full way and fell and died. I was doubled up, pissed off and him know I was, to which he replied "I'm sorry, I didn't realise" lol Sometimes you just have to laugh or you will go insane.
  19. The wee boy Brandon and nephew are streaming some titanfall http://www.twitch.tv/hells_warrrior

  20. So I joined a lobby with 3 others and was looking for a good game, I was disappointed. So we are in spawn room and 2 players are insistent on killing zombies in the spawn room for a couple of rounds. One player is saying over his MIC, I'm not reviviving any of you if you go down, you are all are shit at this game. So he then goes and opens the door to the escalator, I presume he proceeds down to the buildable table for the trample steam but not 100% certain. Anyway, we still have starting pistol on round 3, I'm working my way over to power switch and all I see is a wee yellow down sign pop on the screen. Then all of a sudden, I hear "you are all shite, I'm doing everything your all f***ing useless and the inevitable backout happens. That's always funny, although I was doubled up due to the way the self proclaimed king of zombie player actualy knew shit & then proceeded to blame everyone else for his short comings. I just found it fairly funny last night.
  21. I've got to say, my mates hate this map for the same reasons. They are wrong Play it, understand it DON'T hit the box, solo or co-op, wall gun can do you fine (MP40 from tank station) Pandzer soldat is eaasy, let him chase you, turn, shoot, turn shoot - the red dot is on his craw (left side, right side when you face him) if he grabs you shoot it or even knife it. This is a fairly easy map, training spots exist in abundance (stamin up is a must on this map) Practice, get used to the map, get used to NOT hitting the box Get into a lobby when others also know what they are doing - pretty hard I know but it helps, if they start to hit the box you are most likely in for a tough game.
  22. My brother just bought me Titanfall, I'm like WTF? Thanks, like seriously thanks very much. To which he replied, nae bother, but we'll be through on Saturday because Jay (my nephew) wants to play it. Not got a problem with that tbh, he has autism - had him through fopr the beta but he missed it and was dead upset about it. He doesn't have the One yet, so I'll happily let him use mine and loan it to him.

@Boom, will do. Currently the One is limited in games in all honesty and this is one I think will be "more than decent" but get bored of quickly.

@Naitrix, the brother is a good guy, we always help each other out and although I was going to buy it, he knew my boy wanted it, his boy wanted to play it and just bought it.

Got to be said, it's a great game and the function of being able to stream directly from the one is great, just need a better upload.

I think it is a great game and my nephew is really good at it already, just seems to have the knack of it.

  23. I can think of at least one person who should be on more brains than he currently has.
  24. You would basically be looking at adding if statements into the code for the post count incrementation, which isn't an issue persay and something that can be done. The problem is that is a massive change to the core functionality of the forum code for the reputation system (brains) and the rank system (zombiefication). Now if a modification existed that doesn't touch the core forum code that does this, then yeah why not (none exist bwt, already looked). Modifying the core forum code and keeping a note of the modifications that are already done, versus new modifications to the source code is a pain in the arse and if security patches come out and upgrades come out that need to amend how it works in anyway shape or form, it can potentially break the system. I don't mind either way but I'm against editing the source code unecessarily and this isn't necessary, we can do it manually without any issues occurring in the future.
