Question for Dig Weapons Only challenge: is everything that is not mentioned fair game? For example, you mentioned no staves. Would that mean the Maxis Drone, Thunder Fists, etc. are allowed?
-
I thought that would make it a bit too easy. Boomhilda is powerful enough in it self. If any others agree that it should be added; I'll modify it. I have seen a few versions of this challenge and I though this was the most challenging. Opinions? I agree, too easy. If you add a staff, then it makes the challenge no longer be...challenging. Especially the ice staff!

Iv had a lot of fails on this map, heres my biggest

I have begun to hate those giant robots with a passion :x I swear those stinking lights change feet when I'm not looking! I think I now have an addiction to digging every grave site I ever see in hopes of getting that golden helmet as early as possible... -
Did I? I guess I didn't fully specify what I was talking about, sorry. I meant that while holding Boomhilda, snagging a Mauser from a dig site will not refill your Boomhilda with ammo, but rather replace your Boomhilda with the Mauser. A very easy way to waste 5000 points!

Welcome, welcome! I'm pretty new around here myself, but I can assure you that you will enjoy it here P.S. - I also love the AUG, it is simply amazing. ;)

With that being said, you can still grab ammo off the wall with the same gun even if there are different attachments on it. Proved very useful when I got the Ak74-u w/ Extended Mag. If you dig up an mp40 tho it doesn't fill ammo it replaces it with a normal one. Another tip is that if the robot steps on the soul chest it starts over so it's best to train them with one massive horde. Speaking of digging up items, digging up a Mauser will NOT replace Boomhilda (pack-a-punched Mauser) ammo, it will replace it with the unPaP'd version. I believe this is the same for all weapons you dig up, but I am not 100% sure.

I envy you! I literally have 70 out of the 71 Black Ops 1 achievements, with the stinking Time Travel Will Tell being the only one I never achieved. I got about halfway with a group of randoms, only to have one quit because he claimed to be getting bored :(

This I just played a great game with randoms on blops 1, no mic-ers at that. Dreams do come true! I'm not sure how I feel about the whole ranking system. I feel like people back out because of it. Although having something to aim for (long term) in Zombies is pretty fun...I feel so undecided about the whole thing :| And speaking of Black Ops 1, that reminds me of the (ONE) other time I had nearly perfect randoms. We got the Moon EE done, and although it took 3+ hours, we still finished it even after we had one person rage quit. Luckily he didn't leave until after we didn't need him anymore in the EE steps!

I was thinking about leaving, but I was curious to see if they would go down first just to have my own little "who isn't getting revived now?" moment (I would've revived them, it would just make me feel better if they went down first ). They left on round 1 before the zombies even started spawning, so I didn't have to deal with them, luckily. More than likely they were trying to get you to leave so they could play a 2-player game. Prob not the best way to do it but that's prob was their intentions That's true, they could've been trying that. If they wanted that, they could've just asked

Ooohh....I like this idea! It would be challenging but rewarding, something I enjoy in zombies maps. I don't like when getting useful stuff is too easy (I'm looking at you, Buried).

That sucks, man. I hate playing against people who seem to forget they are playing a game. In fact, this reminds of something that happened the other day. I was in a lobby with randoms who, before the game started, sent me a message that said "You go down, we no revive." Now, why would that be? What could possibly be the point except to be a jerk? Going down is part of the game, and people need to realize it is going to happen at some point.
-
Another good point. It amazes me when I see someone post a video on YouTube of them getting 100+ revives in a single game. Who seriously stays long enough to go down that often? One of the most incredible videos I've ever seen of this is from TheRelaxingEnd (surprise surprise), he got 227 revives on FARM, which means he had no Krauss and only quick revive. I love that guy

Interesting, never quite thought of it that way before. It is true that I enjoy the occasional game with randoms where they continually go down and I get to play medic (as you can see by my signature), but it is very, very rare that this happens and all other players don't rage quit. I guess it all really does depend on the type of game you are looking to play.

I actually have had this happen before, and other things similar to it, such a box being at a location after a fire sale, but you can't get a weapon from it. Like the box texture is there, but the box is actually in a different location. For whatever reason, Nuketown seems to have several glitches when it comes to the mystery box. Not sure why.

I think I just had the best bunch of randoms anyone could ever ask for. All three knew exactly what they were doing. They opened doors (first sign of a good teammate), grabbed all staff parts and built the zombie shield before I even knew what happened. And most amazing of all, we completed the Easter Egg in about 1.5 hours time without even planning to do it from the beginning. After about two staves were built, someone just asked "Anyone wanna do the Easter Egg?" and we were off. It was incredible! Most randoms I play with spend all their points on the box, go down because they didn't have jug, rage quit, and leave me to play alone. But today was different. I think I had the perfect game of zombies, and it was awesome. I also now have 3 new names on my friends list to slay some zombies with now and again. What was the best group of randoms you guys ever came across, and what made em so awesome?

The lightning bolt wouldn't have to be a reason to not have it on other maps, it could be replaced with a light like the mystery box but a different color or something. Also, if this were to happen, I would spend all of the money in my bank to get Flopper in Die Rise. The amount of times I have gone down from fall damage in that map is much too high (LOLOLOL PUNS).

Yeah, that's what I ended up doing with the M14. Thanks, I was just curious for next time :)

So I was playing yesterday going for all for Ultimate staves in solo, and I ran into a problem while going for the ultimate ice staff. I built it and finished flipping the stones in the Crazy Place no problem. Then I had an issue with freezing and destroying the tombstones around the map. The only weapons I had were the ice staff and Boomhilda, and when I would freeze them and shoot them, Boomhilda wouldn't destroy them for whatever reason. Only had around 270 points at the time, and had to rebuild some windows to buy an M14 to destroy them. Not the worst glitch in the world, but it was kind of weird that Boomhilda would't work on the tombstones. Anyone else have this problem?

Not sure what it is or of its importance, but the red liquid reminds me of the canisters hanging off of Richtofen's belt in the very first trailer (the ones just showing the O4 and a few of the old maps). The container it's in also reminds me of the green jars holding brains in Der Riese, but other than that I have no clue what this could be

I don't really know where the story line could go. It could end where it is or branch off to a deeper story, I would be fine with that. But if they bring back more maps like Mob of the Dead, I will be completely fine with that, connected story or not. Mob was one of the best maps in zombies in my opinion, and I think the fresh story attributed to that. Also, I highly, highly doubt zombies is going to be over anytime soon. From Activision's perspective, zombies brings in too many profits for them just to drop it. A lot of people buy Treyarch games just for zombies, and sales would easily suffer without it. I also would't mind a standalone game, "Call of Duty: Zombies" or something, but I doubt that's ever gonna happen, unfortunately...

Tried to get an early PaP after reading this....went down on round 2 from a double swipe, got a nuke from the first zombie on round 2 second attempt, finally got a decent start on my third attempt and didn't PaP until round 8. It was not my proudest zombies moment :?

Is this it for black ops 2 maps?

It always bums me out that I have to remember to look at these sort of things from a business standpoint... -

You never know....I would certainly hope so. Wouldn't it be nice if they released 4 more zombies map packs during Ghosts' life cycle? A guy can dream, can't he? I was secretly hoping the very first Origins trailer (the one just showing the four characters up close) was hinting toward a reboot of either WaW maps or BO1 maps like Rezurrection in BO1, but alas, it was not meant to be. I really hope Treyarch isn't done with zombies for another year or two (or more)!
