  1. Technically it is already a campaign with one mission to next, except the goal is survival, only after der riese did we get all these easter eggs that linked the maps more intricately Nacht Der Untoten - survive Verruckt - Uncover what had happened to Peter (perhaps) Shi No Numa - (Minds blank I'm afraid) Der Riese - End the Outbreak... unfortunately the overloading teleporter meant the zombies could spread, without a shield to hold them (as referenced in a radio before the gang arrived) Kino Der Toten - It's own description on solo will be better than what I can say - basically uncover what Maxis truly intended. Five - Survive Ascension - Release Gersch Call of the Dead - Save the orginal characters and secure the Golden Rod Shangri La - secure the focusing stone Moon - Try and end the outbreak (again). Richotfen ends up in control, and the 2nd instalment will continue the story. Ok. so it's not like a normal campaign but it is to an extent chronological. You see my point. Personally it looks interesting, I just hope they maintain or add more classic elements like faster zombies, make the horde faster, make it survival. That way you have to keep moving. I played Moon and although challenging, it's just too science fictiony for me. I love the genre, but it took away the horror aspects. The map was well thought out though.
  2. Gersch isn't technically dead, remember, I'm sure, he uses a dimension a rift, once you release him. Implying he teleported, it may also provide a reason on how the gang could have got to ascension. The Wunderwaffe's effects on time could have caused a rift to open in ascension, via then teleporting in Kino Der Toten. I'm not entirely confident with this idea though.
  3. The zombies before Sam took over, could be considered a collective consciousness, driven by the same needs, it's also interesting to note that in the Der Riese trailer, most of horde a going after Richotfen, not Takeo. So Sam's influence influenced the collective consciouness of the horde. And with Richtofen the controller. Things will only get worse.
  4. I think a lot of people are forgetting, that the only way to make progress is to move forward, and after hearing people compare it Halo, or other futuristic games, then it makes me roll my eyes. Halo is in the future, yes it uses advanced weaponry, but in Black Ops they are using many things that may be capable of being produced today, and being set in 2025 may be a big gap for some, but lets not forget its set in the 1980s too. I personally loved the Black Ops campaign, as it also inspired me with one of then novels I'm writing, and helped me understand brainwashing better... anyway, i think the campaign will be a pleasant difference from what we normally expect. it maybe a significant jump in some peoples eyes but if Fallout can pull it off, then why not COD. If it is to remain competitive it needs to move forward, I would use a quote from Five made by JFK but somone on another thread beat me to it. You see my point. As for Anonymous. Well they need to realise that in many games, novels, a story/plot or even organisation may have routes in the real world. The real world is the inspiration, if anything they are taking this way tooooo seriously. There are loads of games out there that incorporate hacking, and other related things. I would like to reiterate... It's just... A GAME. A vision, and an idea brought to life for our own entertainment, the viral campaign is our direct involvement, and allows more interaction between creator and community. Edit: I apologise for my mispellings.
  5. Having more female characters but give us a different perspective of playing the game. I just hope if your Sam, the zombies run around you, or stand there thinking -who do I serve? or it screams 'Sam, Return....' or something along those lines because the poor undead now belong to Edward, and no doubt he has big plans for his new family. Still, I believe more female characters will be a good thing, interactions will be more interesting between males and females in the team as you play.
  6. If they are going to implant a story mode into this new mode, then I disagree with massive easter eggs being used, I love playing the game, I just dont have the time to do them, I'm going to uni next year so my time would be limited, I prefer easters eggs like the ones on Der Riese, through radios and stuff, alternate maybe more in some maps, and these types of maps mean more of the story can be added. And to say it isn't already a storymode, is rediculous, it's been a story since Verruckt (And that map was scary), and a story-mode may make it more eerier. All I want is the zombies to be equally formidable, make them faster. Make it challenging, it's no fun to outrun them, although they seem smart enough to cut me off, there's always one at the end of the corridor that uses its wide assortment of brains.
  7. I couldn't help notice this, and be reminded of the thread you made ages ago, it is a brilliant idea by the ways Aussie. Oh and as Im at my dads, I cant see youtube videos, but was one of them guns on there the TARR115 (Temporally augmented rifle) it was something along those lines. Cos that was an idea I suggested for a weapon, I'm really happy to see you've developed this, its really good, it would be cool to see a weapon an fan made in the game.
  8. I once proposed the idea, that the zombies would have more open areas to explore, I like the city idea... imagine a cut scene with hordes of undead and the dogs. Then you with nothing but a measly pistol. the sky is dark, lightening is lighting up the sky, you hear the sinister laugh and then you run like Hell. Ahh yess, this will be good. You get the picture. I hope this is what they mean. It will make it more playable for me. I'm just hoping they keep it on earth though, no aliens treyarch, no more astronaut zombies, maybe napalm zombies, keep the novas, and get rid of ze monkeys. Then I will be playing your game, for a very long time. Edit: that made barely any sense. apologies.
  9. This alternate may give the player more of an opportunity to explore the storyline, these maps may not tie into the classic modes (if it remains) but it will tie in somewhere, it could be a way of showing other events happening, like how five and ascension happened at exactly the same time. And with larger maps, means more better easter eggs - hopefully though, just radios, little notes, pictures, and stuff. I preferred discovering things that way, Der Riese is the only map I play on Black Ops. The only one that seems to offer a challenge, along with five. I personally would love see a map like five, on a large scale with three levels. That would be a challenge, and if they incorporate enclosed spaces, wide open spaces. I will like it a lot. I also second a map without perks and stuff, that gives us more of a challenge. And finally makes the zombies like the ones from verruckt, that way less trains. More running your life, trying to survive.
  10. This looks awesome, I can't wait, and to see what the zombie mode will look like, it gives me the chills. I think its interesting to see how this alternate timeline evolved. Woods is back too, which is pretty awesome. and simply this is alone is brilliant - 'what happens (pause.....) when the enemy steals the keys."
  11. I found this on one of the DARPA pdf files - http://www.dtic.mil/dtic/tr/fulltext/u2/a460977.pdf TACITUS is a system for interpreting natural language texts that has been under development since 1985. It has a preprocessor and postprocessor currently tailored to the MUC-3 application. It performs a syntactic analysis of the sentences in the text, using a fairly complete grammar of English, producing a logical form in first-order predicate calculus. Pragmatics problems are solved by abductive inference in a pragmatics, or interpretation, component. The original purpose of TACITUS was to aid us in investigating the problems of inferencing in natural language. The file itself confused me, either they are brainwashing men and woman, assembling robots and humanising them to fit into society with AI. I found more stuff though. MUC - Message understanding conference MUC 2 and 3 and 6 - Machines? or Mind Control There are references to natural language, and the english langauge and how it is learnt. and finally this - 'The main theme of this symposium is empirical methods of evaluation of man-machine interfaces' from - http://newdesign.aclweb.org/anthology-new/J/J86/J86-3006.pdf
  12. The thing with DARPA is strange, and my original view was that Tacitus was in fact based off the illuminati or a nazi group, most notably Ahnenerbe. The spelling is tricky to say the least, i'm clinging onto the fragile believe that they are somehow involved in all this.... again its one thing to hope, it's another to be proved right. I found out links to the group simply by typing in Tacitus Zombies... but information on group links to freemasonry, which I assumed was related to illuminati, i've almost completely given up on the link but if anyone has suddenly had a eureka moment, it's all yours to investigate.
  13. I think he is making a joke about the recent news story with a bunch of "Space Colonists" wanting to go into space and mine asteroids. Well that makes sense, but who knows, it could be a zombie reference or a joke. Or both.
  14. Sounds Almost legit, but No I can't believe this Here is the quote itself in case there are some lazy people I guess,. "Since you have been the one to raise the most apparent awareness of the Zombie mode in the Call Of Duty game series, and you are the most viewed. Us at Treyarch have decided to post on this video for all you Call Of Duty fans out there. There WILL be a zombie mode in the new "Call Of Duty: Black Ops II". Thanks." CoDBlackOps2Zombies 1 hour ago in playlist Uploaded videos I have agree, would Treyarch really do this. I doubt it I'm afraid.
  15. I think she will also want to hunt down Gersch, she wasn't too happy to let him go, if I recall she seemed pretty damn angry, so much so, that colour faded. Now if she could do that when she's angry, I'd hate to be Dr Gersch. As for Sam, although I never played as her on moon, i did hear her quotes, and frankly I liked them. About her voice returning bear in mind since 1945 (thereabouts) she has been corrupted by alien technology, forced to have a collective mind with the zombies as her instruments and means of influence in our reality. To avoid madness would be near impossible, imagine all those screams in your head, and the pain when one, two, or three die. Poor Sam. As a character she will be interesting, it almost seems too coincidental that her and Takeo want some of the same things. I see a lot more Tak's story being revealed in Black Ops, and how Dempsey and Nikolai react will also be interesting. In Black Ops 2 - Everything changes.
  16. In response to the character backstory, it's nice but Treyarch will always be subtle more or less with what it reveals about Tank, Nik, Tak, and Ed. A lot of it will be in radios, terminals or notes, or in quotes.
  17. You can't Black ops without mind control, like fish without chips. Not that I link fish.... anyways nice finds. What if all this mind control stuff goes beyond governments, I'm talking about the illuminati who have been a theme in zombies mostly. I even found a link to some nazi organisation but it has been completely disregarded but still I like where this is going.
  18. We actually do have the ability to begin research and possible create clones now. In fact, we already do it in animals for livestock and agricultural purposes. The only reason we haven't done it with humans is because it is considered 'unethical'. And potentially dangerous if it's in the wrong hands. I feel we are on the same wave length, in Five I found numbers on the consoles that referenced dna in some respect. Another brain for you, your ideas are brilliant.
  19. I just didn't like their multiplayer engine for BO but I guess that's just me. This game is turning a bit interesting with the modern things which we haven't seen a modern game from Treyarch so I'm intrigued. I just don't want this to turn another modern warfare, I liked the Cold War theme. But I guess its still too early to judge the game. Take into account the Cold War was about who could build the better weapon and reach the moon. This could be an alternative to our cold war (a warm war) or something caused the technology to advance rabidly - either the americans used the technology they had stolen from Der Riese or the Russians used those boxes we see in NDU loading screen. Who knows? leave nothing to chance with Treyarch. I thought moon was impossible... I was sadly wrong about that.
  20. I want zombies that are faster than a player (Verruckt) certainly brings us back to good ol' survival, and I think the AI could be more adaptive (like in ascension the zombies commando roll) more traits that suggest the zombies have retained some of there memories. Of course I agree with some of things said, and it will never be perfect, but I don't want to play a game that is less orientated by survival. I would love remakes of the classic maps (possible returns or something) the maps after ascension, left me thinking - What have you done! I'll still play either way though.
  21. Is it possible that technology evolved differently in the timeline of Black Ops, if you look at all the intel relating to the acquired technology, if Black Ops 2 is set after the first one and follows Mason's story, it could be that technology in a short time period accelerated at a unpresidentated rate. I know I'm referencing fallout a bit, but take that into account it could be possible. I haven't heard the sound bites, I'm using my dad's laptop, internet isnt perfect, so I will look another day. But it comes down to how fast technology advanced, in weapons and everyday life. The quote could also reflect the view of a collective society, the enemy could be anywhere, it could be anyone. An individual that is against the social norm, or alternatively suggests that the main protagonist has no real allies in their fight, and can't trust anyone. It's too obvious in my opinion though.
  22. I know how you feel.
  23. Welcome to CODZ! and in the words of Samantha Maxis - 'Having FUN!!' It's so much better with the sound effect... oh well. Anyway you looking for theories; we got them and a whole lot more to be honest. I mean as communities go... this place is just on a whole new kind awesome.
  24. I try and help the team in anyway I can, and since i don't have many zombie killing friends, I tend play alongside some pretty decent randoms. I generally act as medic, do my best to avoid people who like trains, and generally try to keep everyone alive, I may not have leadership qualities, but I will revive you ONE way or another. I offer advice on where to get Jug, actually got in the game and someone didnt know where it was, and even tell them about the storyline. But most cases I just have fun... although I'm guilty of being competitive, mainly in a good team, and its painful when you get all four perks, then after earning them get down five seconds later. It used to happen with speed cola, I'd get jug, be fine, get speed cola, and get down. Still everyone gets angry at times. Although if I revive you a rediculous amount of times, I do to an extent expect the same but it depends on the circumstances. Some of the best teams I've been in, are ones where you always have someone to cover your back, it's saved me a few times, and those I play alongside. And if you are interested in going on Der Riese (My favourite map) then my xbox gamertag is STOTTINMAD. I'm on rarely due to exams, I'm no pro though, just generally average I think.
