@UnleashThePwniez I noticed the one in Nero's Landing a while back in theatre mode (regular theatre, no highlighted objects) and tried interacting with it in game. You can see the spiders web in game, it is just in a very dark area and hard to see. I tried throwing widows wine grenades at it, and tried to lure parasites into it with WW grenades, but you cannot kill them in the web as it is off map. When you say the objects 'move', what is the animation and where have you seen it? When I was looking at the webs, I did not notice any movement/animation in game. Edit: Just had another look, there is actually an animation to them in game, they move as if being blown back and forth by a gentle wind.

Modders already taking over the BO3 zombie leaderboards. There is one guy who has some grievance with a high round player , who's mission is to take as many of the top spots illegitimately as possible, and has set up over 100 accounts posting modded scores. Shame

@83457 The keepers can indeed be used to fill the eggs. I always seem to open Footlight last when I am ready to fill the egg, go into beast mode, spawn the keepers for the ritual part and put both their souls into the egg. Power up drops can also spawn from the rituals, regardless of whether you kill the keepers or not. It's always worth lingering for a few seconds after a ritual to see if you can grab a cheeky double points.

@dannyfrog2013 The issue with the removed gobblegum has been fixed on ps4, and as far as I can see it is not something that effects Xbox at the moment anyway, as we will not have access to the new gobblegum until the dlc drops, as they are part of the DLC. So I imagine it will already be fixed by the time we have access anyway. I still have all my wall power and unquenchable. @TimelordAlex You can see the new gobblegum on Xbox one? I can't see any. As for Der Eisendrache, I'm pretty sure we haven't preloaded the map yet. All dlc content should appear in my games and apps once preloaded, so I would guess with the difference in size, that is what we are missing.

Scarab beetles do go through metamorphosis. There are 4 stages of development : egg, larva, pupa, adult. Although the larva mainly feed on dung, they are also known to feed on plant roots or carrion (decaying flesh of dead animals).
-
@Ragdo11706 I did look at some info regarding the eye of Ra, nothing specific I can really add but as with the scarab beetle, there are a lot of links to rebirth. That's what I found really intriguing about the scarab beetle. Not only do we have the statues in Shadows that link to this Egyptian mythology, but the amount of links to rebirth, transformation, and larvae which are incorporated in the Apothicon language/ Apothicon Servant. And also links to keepers of the underworld or 'gatekeepers'. The Scarab was seen as a way to help guide souls through the underworld and into the afterlife.
-
@Ragdo11706 yeah, that's what I was trying to get at with the zoroth/keeper quote. It seems inconsistent at best, and there have been games where I have followed an identical pattern to the previous game and not been able to trigger the quote. @83457 Really good call on the scarab beetle. I had never heard of that before, I have found a way to link that information to an object/item in Shadows, but it is long winded, so I apologise in advance! Firstly, I finally got an image of the other side of the WW power up. Getting 1st person and the power up to spawn is not easy, this took me 7 hours and 90 rounds to obtain! And its slightly disappointing in that it looks like a closer image of the beetle from the scarab beetle image on the other side of the power up. Scarab amulets were designed like this, with one side representing the beetle and the flat base inscribed with hieroglyphs to form an impression seal. The scarab beetle relates to the ancient Greek god Ra, and the book of the dead. Ra was believed to roll across the sky each day, transforming bodies and souls. The scarab beetle rolls dung into food and as a chamber to lay eggs that are later transformed into larvae. The scarab was seen as a symbol of this heavenly cycle and the idea of rebirth or regeneration. Ra/Horus was depicted with the head of a falcoln/hawk and was seen as ruler of the sky and the underworld. I wonder if this is the inspiration for the grapple hook symbols in Shadows of Evil. Ra's daughter was called Bastet and was known as the 'cat of Ra'. Statues symbolising the 'cat of Ra' can be bronze or black with the scarab beetle carved on the forehead or wearing a scarab necklace, or wooden statues almost identical to the ones in the Ruby Rabbit in Shadows. It could just be the use of symbology in certain aspects of the zombies story, and I know people have already tried to interact with the statues, but I think it's as good a lead as any. Maybe the 4 statues have something to do with the upgrade?

@83457 I also usually get the zornash quote. On ps4 and Xbox one you need a Margwa to spawn before you can get the quote, but on ps3 and 360 you should be able to trigger that quote with 10 kills anywhere on the map without a Margwa. Would be worth testing in different areas of the map by getting 10 kills in different locations, to prove/disprove that location has any bearing on the quotes. I've been trying to think outside of the box with it recently, as in ignoring all leaked code and looking for intractable items rather than worrying about the cocoons which may/may not exist. This is really clutching at straws, but thought I would post it in case anyone can find this item or a something representing it in Shadows. The only place that the upgraded WW still exists is in Dead Ops Arcade. There is a power up which spawns a portal, and it is the red upgraded ammo portal. I need to get a decent image of the front of the power up in 1st person mode, but here are some images from the back, and there is some sort of inscription on the power up. I have combed Shadows in theatre mode, and couldn't find anything similar.
-
@83457 I believe the only confirmation was the step for the cocoons being locked in the code, there was no official answer/statement. As for the purple pack-a-punch, it also involved something to do with destroying the statues but I think it was proved to be fake. Th 50 kills by pack-a-punch was also disproved, it is approximately 10 kills and can be anywhere on the map, but you won't get the quote til after a Margwa has spawned. The more I try and trigger the quotes, the more random they appear. Had 2 different quotes back to back just for killing zombies in the rift. Also, there does seem to be a link between killing keepers and getting a specific quote, yet I've had games where that quote won't trigger at all.

@Tattoo247 It was just a copy and paste job. It was already formatted, I just highlighted what I thought was important info. It's good to see Dead Ops in the menus and with lobbies and co-op leaderboards. I still want to beat the silverback 4 player, but the game mode is so much easier solo and the new leaderboards now give more of a reason to go back and beat it co-op. You mentioned recently about the kiting in solo, and they have addressed that as well, so it will be interesting to see whether they have changed the zombie AI in any way as some of the other enemies are already 'anti-kiting'. The room of judgement change is also interesting. It says changed to factor in skill and a player will always be rewarded. As far as I am aware, it works like the room of fate, and each fate is decided from the rocks. I've got it down so I can get force every time (the upgraded furious feet). So not quite sure what that means. In terms of a player always being rewarded, in co-op only one player can receive the upgrade to their fate. I'm wondering if that has been changed to allow more than one upgrade?

How to upgrade the Apothican Servant legit?
DaveLo07 replied to steviewonder87's topic in Shadows of Evil
It's definitely worded strangely. I thought it could have been referring to stopping the margwas from spawning in, as this would technically stop you from being able to complete the ee, but that is listed separately as an issue they have fixed. I wonder if it could also be the freezing issue at the last stage of the main ee that a few people have had issues with. Either way, if I was on PS4 I would be tearing Shadows apart right now looking for anything new! -
How to upgrade the Apothican Servant legit?

The latest patch notes are now available and show some interesting things relating to zombies which have been highlighted. Good to see a lot of fixes, especially for Dead Ops Arcade(and split leaderboards really adds replayabillity), but also things related to the easter egg quest in Shadows of Evil. This is available for PS4 but not yet for PC or XBOX. And here’s all the Zombies changes:
-
It will be interesting to see if upgrading the wrath of the ancients involves the Apothicon language and hints at anything we may have missed with the upgrade in Shadows. I kind of like the fact that we get no main easter egg achievement now aswell, sometimes the achievement can give too much away. The Ragnarok sounds intriguing. Ragnarok, with an umlaut over the o, is a term from Norse mythology. It refers to a series of upcoming events including a battle foretold, resulting in the death of a number of major figures, natural disasters and the submergence of the world into water. A battle foretold immediately makes me think of the mural in SOE.

For solo games, Waterfront strategy is pretty fast and straight forward. Keep the door closed by the ctuhulu statue, and camp with your back to that door. Rounds in the 50's can be completed in around 2 minutes. I like to use alchemical antithesis, pop shocks and cache back, meaning you have a 3 in 5 chance when hitting the gobblegum machine of getting a gum that will allow you to camp. I always start the round in this spot, and if a Margwa spawns you can either throw a lil arnie, use pop shocks and continue to camp, or throw a lil arnie, bail out down the stairs and kill the Margwa in the rift. This is also the bail out strategy if ammo runs out. Always keep at least 2 shots in the WW, and one lil arnie and whenever ammo runs dry just run to the portal and train in the rift with vesper and blast furnace. The sword is also surprisingly useful in this spot. If you don't have cache back or alchemical antithesis, start the round by throwing out the sword. You can run a small L or U shape in that room and the spawn rate is ridiculous. As soon as the sword runs out, camp by the door for 3 shots of the WW, which will recharge your sword, rinse and repeat.
-
It looks really good! The sparrow and gravity spikes look like they'll be a lot of fun to use, and good to see the death machine making a return. I'm hoping we'll see a variation on it when pack a punched, night fury would be awesome! Also, are those Apothicon symbols at 1:11? The blue symbols look similar to the Apothicon symbols on the box in Shadows.
-
Ah my bad, I didn't see it in rotation and have never ran out so assumed I just had 4 gobblegums in rotation. I will change the title. I take it the white gumball still counts as your use for that round then? Still though, Alchemical Antithesis is very useful for camping, and if you get lucky with Max ammo drops you can camp for prolonged periods of time on this map.
-
I was playing Shadows of Evil today, and trying to work out a decent camping strategy using the Apothicon Servant and Alchemical Antithesis. This was the first time I have really played around with this gobblegum and soon realised you can camp for a significant amount of time using it. I was camping at the sword holders and portals, but I would imagine that upstairs at Waterfront near the statue with the door closed would be a much quicker spawn. If used correctly, Alchemical Antithesis will give you the equivalent of two Max ammos, and two periods of 60 seconds before each ammo replenishment where you have infinite ammo. This is quite useful to speed up the rounds between Margwa rounds and with only a 1 in 5 chance of getting this gumball from the machine, it felt reasonably balanced. Just wondered what peoples opinions were on this? I have not seen many people incorporate camping into their strategies on Shadows. You can camp for 4-5 minutes at a time using the WW and Alchemical Antithesis, even longer if you incorporate lil arnies, and as long as you leave one bullet in it, you are ready to camp again as soon as you get your next Alchemical Antithesis from the machine. There are already some really fast training strategies out there, but I think this could shave off even more time and is slightly safer.

@Ragdo11706 I can take your word for it, but I would still like to provide footage of the quote myself. However, I believe it is a lot harder to remove patches on Xbox one and having a digital copy of the game is also a hindrance so not sure what I can do my end. I have heard saved data can be lost by trying to this, so not sure it is an avenue I want to go down. I've also received all 3 quotes long before the patch in question though. And thanks for getting my username/gamertag right! Most people think it's Dave El double oh seven or Dave loo seven.
-
@Ragdo11706 Nice post! I'm glad somebody said it, I had that qoute 4 or 5 weeks ago and would agree that it's always been there. Do you have any way of recreating and getting footage? I could, but I play online and don't really wanna delete all the patches. But proof would be a good way to nip this incorrect info in the bud. @Difintel_EU He did say that, but I have seen nothing to back it up other than the fact he has only just received the qoute. Proof works both ways, I don't understand why this guys word is being taken as gospel, no questions asked?

@Chopper the customer support that Activision offer is poor at best, but the support agents won't speak specifically about what developers are aware of. I believe they were simply saying that I was the 1st customer to report those issues. As a customer support team they were unaware of them. It is very difficult to start any dialogue with Activision regarding bugs/issues with the game. I ended up listing nearly 20 potential bugs to them yesterday and they have said hopefully they will be addressed in the next patch, but it seems that not many of these issues are being reported so I may start a thread in the general zombies section listing all potential issues where people can add any potential bugs and then the page can be linked to Activision via support chat. All we can do is make them aware of potential issues and hope that they address them accordingly.
-
@Zelkova They are not referred to as R.A.P.S.E in the zombies game mode. In Dead Ops Arcade, the R.A.P.S.E exist as a power up, and the meatballs exist as an enemy so it would not work to call them that within zombies. Meatballs seems to be the term that most people call them
-
I would definitely be interested in seeing that guide, already really intrigued as to why no quick revive!
-
It was in response to the despawning margwas and infinite Max ammos from the flag step. I explained the issues as clearly as possible and they seemed pretty certain that neither was a designed game mechanic, but that is only their opinion. The support chat auto saves so I have a transcript, the issue I have is I screenshotted some of it on my tablet, but when I try and upload it anywhere or save it to another folder it just closed the window. They also stated there is no way to get a direct response from Activision directly regarding these issues so if it does not get patched then I guess we'll never know. Something I forgot to mention, the agent also said that they were unaware of either of these issues. Neither has ever been reported, so they were unaware that these issues needed to be patched.
-
I took the direct route and contacted Activision support and the opinion of the support agent was that both of these issues are bugs/exploits in the game that should be patched. I did ask for a statement to that effect stating whether they were game mechanics and if they would be patched but they said it would not be possible to do this. So this is only the opinion of a support agent, but it would seem that they are both unintentional. My tablet will not allow me to upload an image of the chat but here is the response I got: Agent : Regarding to your questions they are bugs or glitches in the game that need to be fixed and I will report them to the relevant parties immediately Me: I would like a statement from Activision to that effect, directly responding to those questions. Are these 2 issues game mechanics, and will they be patched? I know you are saying they are bugs and I agree but at the moment that is personal opinion Agent : Nope, it really is a bug/exploit in the game. I will notify the higher parties about this so that they can try and patch the issue, but there is no timeframe on this since it will undergo process.
