This is so true. I miss those maps. Those were the kinds that gave birth to this community! Everything wasn't a dead giveaway that there was a quest on the map. If you wanted it, you found it. If you didn't, it didn't matter one way or the other. If you didn't know it was there, who cares? You could still have fun. THAT is what I LOVE about The Giant.
-
Maxis and Richtofen are allied this time around. And I don't believe that's used to summon Cuthulu. There's a lot more to it than that.
-
I'm entirely with you. Personally, I wish they hadn't gone all politically correct, but if they must...at least have a damn good excuse for it. We around here are way too into little details to let something like that fly and be cool.
-
Please, no more wall running, and I don't really like the underwater idea. Cybernetics excuses it in MP and Campaign, but not in Zombies.
-
Way cool. And as always, thanks for y'all's hard work.

No pressure, I know y'all have been busy with the site; but will the Edit and Delete options for the LGF entries be returning? Also, with the sheer number of groups being submitted, I would recommend reducing auto deletion time to 7 days (I believe it was 10? I may be wrong) to reduce the chance of stagnant/expired requests. Just a suggestion. One more thing: filters currently cannot be combined. So if I'm looking for "Xbox One" "The Giant" "Easter Egg" groups, I have to select one of the above. If that's not doable, it's no biggie, especially while the LFG is just getting going.

Women crying near the furnace near VMP?OldThompson Room
NaBrZHunter replied to Stanislav's topic in The Giant
I'm not a mod-just saying this as a friendly suggestion, if you start a thread, maybe open with a breakdown of your thoughts on the subject, and present some ideas. Gets people thinking and kinda opens the door for more in-depth discussion! :) As far as the crying, it is historically considered to be Samantha, due to her sad story in general, and the fact that she does seem to haunt the map-the furnace room, especially. But heck, I've been thinking about Maxis' secretary, Sophia, lately. Who knows...maybe it isn't Sam. -
I do really wonder if they're going to have a storyline explanation as to why it's changed, but the original lightning was the SS runes, and it appears they have taken the final step towards annihilation of the Nazi association with zombies (no pun was originally intended - lol).
-
That's a good point, @Stop Mocking Me0. And the way to get to Griffin Station pre-1960 was via a) Maxis Der Riese MTD Prototypes, or b) Richtofen's completed MTD, location unknown. Much of what was located at No Man's Land was likely taken from the Moon.
-
They've said it's not coming back, period, actually.
-
LOL! Oh no, man! That's rough!!! Ouch! Yeah, the Aethereal sound indicates they reset.
-
How is that so bad, though? You didn't have to start CotD over. It's like anything else that resets upon failure, right? We've had that in several EE.
-
I'm holding onto hope that we still have much to find in The Giant. I mean, really. Treyarch said well be exploring these for years...........TBH, I'm really starting to get irritated with the Master Race and their insistence on releasing everything that was meant to be discovered. Obvious exception for @PINNAZ for his library because it's just that - an archive. Good stuff.
-
I promise, I am going to get back to work on this.
-
I'm thinking maybe they're deliberately leaving out EE commentary, kinda like the did in SOE because people are file digging...which is really a shame. TBH, though, that would make me happy. Kinda throw a wrench in the plans of all the folks cheap-assing EE steps out there.

But something like that would be re-activatible the following round, if done incorrectly. It wouldn't make any sense that, if activated in the wrong order, you had to restart the game to try again. I've even tried in coop to activate them as Richtofen, wait a couple rounds, and have another character try, but to no avail. They activate only once. Like in Ascension, they're clues to the fact that there is something that can be done.

I have to say, I like the extra PaP effects. I don't like the wonder weapon-in fact, I rarely do. Even the classics, I love because they are the classics, but given a choice, I would always pick a good MG over any WW any day-even the staves. So it's nice to see that the rifle-types are now able to actually wreak some havoc that used to only belong to the WW-toting folks who won the race to the box or the build table. Now the the effects themselves...pretty silly. Fireworks? Heh. Turned? OP'd, but still, fantastical. Flame, zap and thunder are more like it. I would have been good with just those three. Maybe tack a grenade effect in there as well, Mustang & Sally/Death & Taxes style.

Dempsey says that they failed to secure the intel, the test subjects' location. That would be the O3.

The time on the clock has changed from WAW/BO, but is not the same time as the trailer. Four red lights have been added to teleporter room Z-C Obviously, Nazi symbology has been eliminated, but the replacements are noteworthy and kind of odd: • A hellhound's head, retaining the Nazi Eagle wings is now above the mainframe, as well as on barrels throughout the map. • The Group 935 logo has changed even more since DICE. The clean, modern DICE revision hasn't yet appeared, and the one featured in The Giant has had a makeover, the SS runes having been replaced with...the Black Ops 3 tallies? WTH? • The crusher hat/Nazi officer zombies from the trailers have not yet appeared • Nazi-style bloodred flags featuring a black iron cross with white trim are hanging throughout the map

That's a good point too, actually. "The numbers, Mason? What do they mean?" 4 means....IT'S A ZOMBIES EASTER EGG!

the giant Still very confused with the giant timeline
NaBrZHunter replied to kilerbrambo88x's topic in General Discussion
I'm sure someone has mentioned this before-but four years before zombies came out, BTW, there was a story of a mad German Scientist, a master race, mechanical Giants nearly identical to the Origins Giants, Shangri-La, and how the people there were forced to work in uranium mines, and dying of radiation poisoning. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sky_Captain_and_the_World_of_Tomorrow -
It's a shame-today, to avoid spoilers, you literally have to go dark. Watching NGT last night, it was irritating all the people who were trying to exploit to tell the team what they didn't want to be told. It's like people think that, regardless of what means they utilized to garner their knowledge, they have the one-up on you because they know it and you don't because you are trying to get what you paid for out of the game, and attempting to enjoy what was created for you, and each other loyal fan. Also, the people who spread secrets and as much info as they possibly can before anyone else like they will be recognized for it. Why is it so hard for people to just enjoy the game and the teamwork the way it was meant to be? It's always been about figgering out the riddles. That's the beauty of it. okay, getting off my soapbox now.

I've been trying a lot of stuff on them since last weekend-but no weapon, PAP'd or otherwise, has any effect when shooting them (including the Wunderwaffe and Annihilater, even when shot at simultaneously in coop). I'll be revisiting it soon, but I'm thinking it will be one of those things where you must do a step elsewhere, and running back to check, you can confirm it was effective by the color of the lights, just like the teleporter control panel.

the giant Still very confused with the giant timeline
NaBrZHunter replied to kilerbrambo88x's topic in General Discussion
Oh naw. Everything is peaceful until it isn't. So basically, I'm saying they are empirialistic. But if that's too shallow-by all means, I'm certainly no expert. -

NaBrZHunter replied to kilerbrambo88x's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, I was reading up on that earlier. Peaceful until they aren't, it would seem. Until they need more living space. @Nightmare Voyager LOL! That will be the day zombies actually makes me cry.
