  1. Haha, unfortunately so. RIP "Multidimension". Though, it's weird how many Moon quotes they all use. And specifically Moon, it would seem. Might *just might* be something there.
  2. I'll agree, it is closer; however, they still don't have wings. But they do wield the staffs. GRRRRRR! JUST AGREE WITH ME! THEY COME THROUGH AETHER! LOL! Jk. It doesn't really matter, anyhoo. The point is, they all have similar faces. lol! And besides, it's freaking Die Rise. Who cares about Die Rise?
  3. They would seem to be, except that they spawn in like dogs, whereas telecrawlers/phasers are on-site, like nova crawlers themselves. Also, telecrawlers stay on the ground when in gravity. I stand corrected! Yet, yes, it does sound like an angel. Thanks for this! Unless Treyarch decides to create their own version, then (which, I still think they look like evil, ugly angels-AKA, demons) then they are definitely not Vril-ya.
  4. Okay, check that. They are described as looking like angels...interesting, because the keepers kind of do. Especially when wielding swords. The author himself describes them in a letter, 'the coming race, though akin to us, has nevertheless acquired by hereditary transmission, etc, certain distinctions which make it a different species.'
  5. I've seen pictures of the Vril, but I didn't know whether they had an established 'appearance. And that's a very interesting point. Let's tack the Jumping Jacks on that list as well. Also portal-jumping Aethereal monsters.
  6. The visual paradox is the interdimensional beacon Maxis wants Richtofen to release. What Dempsey is referring to is how Richtofen knelt down by his older body for a moment and seemed to take a vial of blood.
  7. So...I'm curious. Are the Keepers the Vril? @Nightmare Voyager Was it you who read The Coming Race? Are they portrayed as necessarily malevolent?
  8. Played some solo SoE this morning...and actually enjoyed it. I think the fact that HE showed up there made it altogether better.

  9. @shirtlesservice suggested that. When did they say they wouldn't do cutscenes?
  10. Yeah...same. LOL! I lost my head for a moment. Sure, we can try for tomorrow.
  11. So that's why Richtofen was late to Der Riese....
  12. Oh holy crap....you're probably right. Well....
  13. True, true. Oh my gosh, this is not good. Not good at all. Anyone want to join me in The Giant? We need to get to work.
  14. I have a feeling @MrRoflWaffles doesn't want the steps handed to him...but maybe I'm wrong.
  15. I don't believe there is more than one. Dempsey says at one point that he intends to activate a beacon, and then seems to get pissed at the thought. Richtofen needs to "release" the beacon. That's what keeps getting said. Dempsey is there for other reasons.
  16. So...Imma toot my own horn a bit. Aside from a hodgepodge of asterisks and other substitution symbols that flooded my brain the first time I saw The Giant's opening cutscene and the fate of old Richtofen, my first thought was the words "ACCEPT YOUR FATE! BEGIN ANEW!" A few of you may remember how the thing haunted me to the point that I made a teaser trailer for The Giant, in which I actually used it. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=bAm27_YsN4E I cannot say, then, that I was surprised last weekend when, playing solo as Richtofen, I heard him say "I must accept my fate and begin anew." It's stuff like this that hypes me up...anew. Heheh. I will try to catch the statement and record it, unless someone else can find it. I'll be updating this post as we learn more.
  17. They actually didn't go back in time. Retrospective time travel causes a grandfather paradox. They moved forward in time from Origins, and according to Dempsey, made two or more other stops along the way.
  18. What he said. Sad story, but true. As far as I can tell, however, Origins did happen in a third universe, the children were playing a game with a similar concept in the second, ignorant of the fact that the NO4 were living it out, while in the first universe, (presumably ours) the events of Der Riese/Griffin Station were gearing up to take place. For some reason, the new Dempsey from U3 is on a mission to find the test subjects in U1. Nikolai from U3 is on a mission to destroy the German 'war machine' in U1, Takeo from U3, it would seem, may be looking for the Emperor, and Richtofen from U3 has come to kill Richtofen in U1 to stop the utter annihilation of U1 through the events of Der Riese - Buried. Meanwhile, Maxis from U2 is in contact with Richtofen from U3, praising his work and his heroic motives, and attempting to identify his location for exfil by use of a cross-dimensional beacon. The other 3, however, are pissed at Richtofen, as they still have business in U1.
  19. @MysteryMachineXThanks for responding. That's the word-pseudoscience. And retrofuturism. Great words. Yeah, I believe Faust mentioned that in his podcast/post. The parasites are pretty much identical to another Lovecratian creature. But I wouldn't know any details. Anyhoo, @steviewonder87 and I did work it out. lol
  20. He says, "failed to secure Intel: the test subjects location...DAMMIT, Richtofen, why do you always have to screw everything up!?" Hm. Interesting. I can't say that's not true, but the impression I've gotten is that Dempsey is there for the test subjects, Nikolai is there to "destroy the German war machine," and while I don't know Takeo's mission (I know that he has fallen out of favor with the emperor, whose location is unknown to him) I do also know that he is very disappointed the O'Richtofen was killed. And like you said, Richtofen's is to light the beacon, as far as I know. Which you successfully do with the Fly Trap EE. However, while Maxis says "the beacon has been lit," Richtofen specifically says he needs to "release" the beacon.
  21. I haven't heard of that. Where did you hear it? (Not doubting you-just wondering. And I hadn't noticed the door!) Well, Dempsey suggests, as I originally suspected, that the test subjects aren't actually at Der Riese. Wherever they are, only O'Richtofen knew.
  22. Nothing so far, I don't believe. We're still only on 4 EE steps yet. Richtofen actually said something about "releasing the beacon" yesterday when I was playing - AFTER I had done the known steps.
  23. Missed my pre-work The Giant exploration...:sigh:

  24. Oh! Hahaha! Still and all, very punny. Good talk, man.
