I don't believe the easter egg is done yet...
steviewonder87 replied to Stop Mocking Me0's topic in The Giant
I'm pretty sure there is nothing left and these lights are just a quick Photoshop job/troll/hoax/glitch/all of the above tbh. There might be the odd random small EE still left, but there is no 'proper' EE on The Giant I'm pretty sure, which is a shame. I've listened to most of the sound files and there is nothing interesting that we haven't already heard, there is nothing in the decrypted scripts for the Giant either apparently (there was for SoE). Remember initially The Giant was going to be a pre-order bonus for special editions of BO3 only (like the WAW maps on BO1 or Nuketown on BO2) but they ended up just giving it to everyone in the end. And much like Nuketown, they kept it pretty straightforward with mostly small storyline EEs as opposed to main gameplay ones. Nothing stopping them learning from their mistakes with Tranzit (the whole 'is there/isn't there' fiasco all over again) and this time, instead of just watching the community tearing their hair out looking for more and expecting more and responding with cryptic answers knowing full well there's nothing left to find, they could just release a new EE in a patch, which is what they should have done with Tranzit. Doesn't have to be huge, and while they're at it fix the damn Wunderwaffe and make the Apothican Servant PAPable. -

You could do the whole thing and get all the perks permanently and blow up the Earth with 2 players. -

How to upgrade the Apothican Servant legit?
steviewonder87 replied to steviewonder87's topic in Shadows of Evil
Have you verified this yourself? Or is this just an idea/rumour you heard? People, including myself, thought this may been possible (still pretty shitty since you can only do it 4 player anyway, and only one player would have it) but people who had tried it after the EE said it didn't work. -

You could access them on PC with console commands, which you'll probably be able to do on Shadows when the mod tools come out. I'm of the opinion now (since there has been not a hint of progress so far) that the gun was cut and they left the files in, and just didn't anticipate that there would be a bug to allow players to access it or even know about it. But I agree, now we've had it, it's pretty bullshit to just completely remove it. I mean we don't even get it for 60 secs with a gumball? Really Treyarch? How about you stop fixing the 'glitches' that actually make the game more fun and fix the more pressing issues like the random crashing and shitty servers first? Or better still, with the next patch add a small EE to actually upgrade it legit, it wouldn't be hard at all, I know people who could code something like that in in no time at all Edit: Although if the last patch is anything to go by, perhaps they shouldn't touch the scripts, seeing as they managed to somehow take a perfectly working feature and transform it into a gamebreaking bug with the Sam taking all your guns and points for having a special thing... -

Never going to happen and I wouldn't want it to happen. There will be BO3 custom maps though, so who knows, perhaps you can make your own map and show Treyarch how it's done... -

If the gumball doesn't work then there 100% HAS to be a way to PAP it. Think about it, treyarch added in the purple-animated void, the new gun name, and the statistics for it's increased amo count. There has to be a way to upgrade it. I at first thought "Oh that gum that upgrades your weapon is kind of cheap, only letting you use the upgraded weapon for a short time... " but if you're saying it's not working then damn... There must be a way to upgrade it. So... We can get the margwa masks in solo right? It's a LOT of effort to find one as well.... Well, what about using the little armies? I mean those weren't used for the easter egg and they've got to be related to something... Also there's the donut trip mines although that might just be purely cosmetic. I think if the gumball doesn't PAP it then it's LESS likely there's a proper PAP version tbh. If the gumball doesn't upgrade it which is says it should do, then that probably means there just isn't supposed to be a PAP version. I think it's most likely similar to the Sliquifier on Die Rise and they decided to cut the PAP version before release for some unknown reason. They do it all the time. On COTD for example there is a PAP Wunderwaffe and PAP AK47 (not the normal AK47 which was only added officially to zombies in MOTD) with an underbarrel flamethrower. The PAP AK47 even has a PAP name: Red Mist. My guess would be that they decided the PAP version was too OP and just removed it (whilst leaving the files intact) and just didn't foresee the PAP glitch. Which would be sad.. -
I just watched Dalek's video on the patch and he brought it up, so I guess it was fairly common, and apparently is has been fixed. However if you pick up a special (the Annihilator or a sword) and you have 2 guns + a special with no Mule Kick, then if you go down it takes all your points and weapons and Sam laughs as they think you are cheating holding 3 weapons. It's an old anitcheat thing since BO1 I think. So guess another patch will be out soon to fix that...
-
Yeh but that's not what I meant. At best, it chains maybe 5 and kills them, usually with a delay. At worst (what I'm talking about) it gives you a total glitched out 'dud' version that does literally nothing, you can't physically damage zombies with it. Me and my friend have both experienced this on different games. I hope that's been patched now.in addition to the 'proper' one actually working like it's supposed to.
-
It doesn't work fine. At least it didn't yesterday, perhaps it has been fixed in the newest patch. I got it yesterday and the gun did nothing. Like I shoot it into a crowd of zombies and nothing happens and you don't even get +10...and it was like that even after using up the ammo and getting max ammos, just had to trade it out since it was literally useless. I really hope they've fixed it, Der Reise wouldn't be the same without a proper working Wunderwaffe.
-
The zombies seem MUCH slower in the early rounds now, to the point it felt like playing BO2 on easy mode where they don't actually run.
-
If they went to the trouble of slightly changing the engravings and changing the names for each character, why didn't they make 4 different elemental versions then? Instead of 4 lightning ones, and 4 fire ones all the same? Would have made it a lot more fun with multiple sword elements to try out, they just need to change the colours and the fx anyway, it wouldn't have been hard to do.
-
But there are only 2 sword models right? The non-upgraded and upgraded? Just the names are changed? Or are they completely unique?
-
I was under the impression there were only 2 swords in SoE. The non-upgraded 'lightning' type one, and the upgraded 'fire' type one. However on the wiki it says this - The Apothicon Swords[1] are four Wonder Weapons in Call of Duty: Black Ops III on Shadows of Evil. The weapons are elemental based, and can be upgraded. The four Apothicon Swords are the Maroth Zorguamat, Ullamargor Zortuk, Astanar Nethurgast, and Shubozzor Ullagua. http://callofduty.wikia.com/wiki/Apothicon_Swords So what's the deal? Is this just bollocks? Did someone just make these up and post them there as a troll or is there something more to this?

I agree with the first paragraph, but I'm not sure about the 2nd. Sure, you could do the EE on solo on Origins, and COTD, but the others were all co-op too. The pain in the ass is making it 4 player only. Shangri La took me an eternity, never mind the ridiculous EE steps themselves, just to get 4 players who had above 100 IQs with mics that were decent players and that didn't a) run off a few seconds before the last 4 player step because they needed to have dinner and never come back wasting several hours of 3 other people's time or b) get disconnected midway through. The hardest step of the EE is actually getting the players in the first place, the rest is usually relatively straight forward! Moon had it perfect, a solo version with most of the steps and an achievement (but not the proper reward/ending), and a min of 2 players for the proper one. I can just about manage to get one other person who fulfills the EE completing requirements, but 3? Forget about it, even when you can it barely ever works out, in my experience anyway. I don't mind co-op EEs, just make them 2 player not 4 ffs! Even if that means you have to do double the work or extra steps, at least make it possible on 2 player. Come on Treyarch sort it out! -
Not usually a fan of snipers in zombies, (although I liked camping with the iron sights PAP DSR on Buried, and the SVU was pretty beast too) but have you tried the Drakon with the scope removed and with some kind of red dot sight? It's basically a wonder weapon lol.

How to upgrade the Apothican Servant legit?
steviewonder87 replied to steviewonder87's topic in Shadows of Evil
Not as pissed as if it's not upgradable at all :( Without this 'glitch' it makes me hesitant to even go for a high round solo game tbh, the normal one just isn't good enough for how much ammo it holds... -

Pretty sure on PC at least it's been patched (I'm not the only one to have mentioned it) but the scenario you described was the case, I had a multi-PAP gun in my hands (I noticed the hintstring bugged out sometimes and said 'Cost:5000' for a split second when pulling out the A.S. but it just wouldn't accept the gun. I'll confirm with a non-PAP gun though to be sure. But, even still, this is surely not the 'proper' way to do this? Is there literally no info out there on upgrading it legit? Has anyone tried after doing the EE? It's not beyond the realms of possibility that Treyarch would leave in an upgraded version by 'accident' (they did similar on past BO1/2 maps), but I for one would be truly saddened if there was literally no way to upgrade it. The ammo in the normal one is too low, it's not like the Sliquifier which had tons of ammo and was OP enough as it was either. -
I initially thought that The Giant was just Der Reise with a BO3 mod and snow (which it basically is) but I still have tons of fun playing it, it has to be said. I'd much prefer a new map to learn, but in some ways having something familiar is nice. Since I already know the map inside out, and it's relatively simple/small it was a good way for me to get to grips with the new BO3 features before I tried my hand at SoE - which, in my opinion, is a brilliant map. I recently tried out the original WAW version, and it just looks AWFUL compared to the BO3 version, I really enjoy the new detail, fx, lighting, etc. seeing this on a new engine, but then again maybe as a mapper myself I appreciate the little things like that more than most. Overall, apart from the few issues on PC (which are almost fixed now I think), I'm more than happy with my BO3 purchase. I can't wait to see what the DLC content will be like.
-
I tried the 'glitch' today to PAP the WW but it wouldn't let me, I guess Treyarch have patched it. So, anyone know how to upgrade the gun properly? There must be a way, the upgraded version is so much better than the original one, it's barely worth keeping without being able to PAP it as the ammo is so low...:(
-
I noticed some were reused quotes but they had been re-recorded by the voice actor for BO3. Richtofen especially, sounds completely different in Origins; he's way more serious and normal to the high pitched and slightly deranged one we have in WAW/BO1, and the original characters were only in Origins in the last game. They certainly aren't reusing the recordings from BO1 or WAW.
-
It seems totally random. I've had it on pretty much every perk at least once, but sometimes it just doesn't work The old way they did it was to add a trigger_touch on the machines (which also played the 'bottles shaking' sounds when you bump into the machine - which incidentally they don't have anymore?) and that rewarded the player 25 points when touched in prone. They must have changed the script and it's buggy, or, it's dependent on something else, i.e. round based, or something.

2 player game, both activated Perkaholic round 3 :) Ended on round 37 - Phoenix Up revived us 3 times with all our perks, I didn't buy a single perk the whole game, and I still have a Perkaholic apparently, even though I used the one I had it didn't take it away for some reason. I fucking love the gumballs!

Is the Easter Egg worth completing
steviewonder87 replied to blackfire561's topic in Shadows of Evil
But if there's no achievement I don't think it's possible for them to make it required in later maps? I don't get why there's no achievement for it even if it's not tbh. I'm just going off what the OP said btw, maybe there is one idk.
