AdaWg Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 Though this is already sort of a sub-section of DrKillshot24's thread, I thought it needed a thread of its own. So, just a brief summary: He got a poster for Black Ops for preordering early, and then took pictures of the parts of the poster that had hidden numbers on it. He found the sequence of numbers: (877)386-4270. From there I went ahead and called the number myself. It rings once, then goes to a lullaby/creepy old tone. In between the short tones are long or short loud beeps. (morse code anyone???) Here is the full phone call: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQOmtZ0PhK4 Here is the sound file: http://www.sendspace.com/file/4fq36k Here is the Temporal Frequency Analysis on it: And here's where the number is on the poster(credit to DrKillshot24):
Telixion Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 It wouldn't be morse code. 3 1 2 1 6 1 4 Those numbers are the tones of what is in between. Morse code doesn't have a 6 tone letter/number
Cpt Rutger Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 I'm not sure, but couldn't it also be a combined phone/fax device at the other end ? Anyone tried to receive an incoming fax from this number ? Otherwise, the music sounds a lot like it could fit to GKNOVA.
Feargdrone Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 It sounds very similar to call holding sounds....maybe something will come up later closer to the release...
AdaWg Posted May 23, 2010 Author Posted May 23, 2010 The reason I believe this number has something to do with GkNova6 is because, a random sequence of numbers is not randomly placed on a call of duty poster and then it just so happens to go to a strange phone number..

You never know, I don't think they would put a GKNOVA6 clue on a poster not everybody can get/has.
Chicano-209 Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 i called this number on my cellphone so that i can record it and listen to it but the number u call will just hang up on its own.
AdaWg Posted May 23, 2010 Author Posted May 23, 2010 i called this number on my cellphone so that i can record it and listen to it but the number u call will just hang up on its own. Really? It is still working for me.
bloodyNASsassin Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 It reminds me of a music box. The kind a little girl might get that has a small revolving fingurine. Often a ballerina. It might have something to do with the name Sally.
GK Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 try this numer (210)764-0480 if u r british like me the numbers wont work so i wondered if someone in america could try it for me. This is made up of the numbers on the gknova6 site there on the machines and if you wonder were the 0 comes from there is a timer right at the bottom with only 0's so i added that on to make it a full number
ajones19802 Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 As much as I'd like to try and figure this out by myself, i figure you guys will do it faster, if you call the number (877)386-4270 , and when you hear the music press # it goes to a voicemail box, from there im stuck. Hope this helps!
cynicism Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 I looked up operation nova, and it lead me to a phone number ((310) 452-2581). Operation Nova is also located in Santa Monica. I don't know if someone has found this because I joined just over a minute ago, but anyway her you go! Edit: Meh... it's some random people..... It's a cover up
cynicism Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 I went to voice mail, they said it was the residence of a richard, and someone else. There is a Richard working for Treyarch.... interesting...
AdaWg Posted May 23, 2010 Author Posted May 23, 2010 I went to voice mail, they said it was the residence of a richard, and someone else. There is a Richard working for Treyarch.... interesting... How'd you get to that? When I pressed the pound key it asked for the "mailbox number" I typed in 1 and then it said to enter the mailbox PIN.
Cpt Rutger Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 I have the feeling, that someone will not be happy having people calling him all day long. I think it is a phone/fax combined on this number. Anyone got a fax ? Try sending something. And please don't try messing up someones mailbox by trying to figure out the pin. As long as we don't know that this number is related to anything concerning GKNOVA / COD:BO we must assume that this number is just someones phone connection. We have the audio here, that must be enough. we should stop calling...just in case. On the other hand... is 877 not a toll-free number ? Why should a private household have such a number?
MINUS Stl Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 yeah, 877 is a toll free. Also, knowing Treyarch and their affinity to giving us clues, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have just picked a random phone number before putting it on a poster. But that would be pretty funny!
Sigint Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 It reminds me of a music box. The kind a little girl might get that has a small revolving fingurine. Often a ballerina. It might have something to do with the name Sally. Sally? dont tell me everyone is wondering what that name is! Sally is the nickname for the colt m1911. the sally on the pistol (if you are referring to that) is probably what the producers of the M1911 put on every gun. to be exact, the nickname is Dirty Sally
ImpulseCdog Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 I went to voice mail, they said it was the residence of a richard, and someone else. There is a Richard working for Treyarch.... interesting... Wasn't the stamp of the mail package with the usb when Gknova6 was first found wasnt there a richard wright on the stamp? Dont flame me lol
MINUS Stl Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 New info on the "phone number" clue.... Rofl...just had a convo w/ the lady (Teddy) who owns the # on the #CoDBlackOps poster. Totally coincidental and unrelated. Too funny. #WPC — Matt Scronce (@MaTtKs) May 24, 2010
