At 0:05 missiles are seen being launched, as people have noted in this clip which has been seen in a few vids.

But so far, I haven't seen anyone trying to identify what type of missiles these are, which could:

a). reveal who is launching missiles

B). a time period

c). who's being shot at, since it's either U.S. or Soviets (or is it?)

I'm no missile expert, but i think since members of this community were able to solve the GKnova6 messages (some of which is still beyond me), then figuring these out shouldn't be too difficult.

Shortly after they show that footage they show for a momet what I believe says, "The Space Race". Looks like it just wasn't the nazi's who were trying to make their way off this planet but for what???

Went through pictures of all the cold war American and Soviet missiles I could find, the closest matches are a set of American ones:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nike_%28rocket%29

Scroll down for a table of them all, the Spartan ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LIM-49_Spartan ) Looks the closest match to me, and that was only in service in 75.

What do you think?

And Mick Saints, both the Americans and the Soviets were involved in the Space Race during the Cold War, they were trying to out-maneuver each other and show that their system (either Communist or Capitalist) was better. This resulted in millions being spent on trying the get people in to Space, the Soviets succeed, but the Americans landed on the Moon. Also, this served a practical purpose, as the opposing powers could then use satellites to spy on each other. The SR-71 Blackbird went into space, and that plane is seen in one of the trailers.

Sorry for the wall of text.

A lie is a lie.

I'm not sure anymore if it was to put those satellites in space to spy on one another.

Americans went to the moon? WE LANDED!!!

good work. i took a glance at the vietnam weapons page on wikipedia, and the closest match was the soviet s75, which shot down the u-2.

The thing about that video that caught my eye/ear was when he said said how your fighting the battle of Huey City but your not actually fighting THEE battle of Huey City.

This references everything in the game, it doesn't necessarily have to have happened for it to be in the game BUT as we know in COD games America are usually the "good guys" so I would GUESS that the Soviets are launching the missile at America in and around the time of the Cuban Missile Crisis

Thats because The SOG was NOT involved in any battles. there was an interview somewhere where JD or Lamia said that in the level you were retrieving HIGHLY sensitive CIA intel.
