Der Riese Architectural Flaws

Were the designers of this Nazi Super Scientist facility drunk, or really really stupid?

*Note* - Captains identify the architectural flaw, and words in quotations represent

possible conversations between the Der Riese designers

I apologise in advance for the poor quality pictures

The architects of Der Riese seem to have a complete disregard for the placement and functions of wires

"Hey frank, where did Maxis want these wires?"

"Uhh... Just chuck em' the floor"

Wires through the drain??

"Hey.... wasn't there supposed to be a drilling through the concrete right here, to feed this wire through?"

"Oh Damn.... well, there's an emtpy drain right there...."

Sand bags in the lab???

"God damn, these things are heavy. Let's just put them in AN ANIMAL TESTING LAB?"

Discontinuous catwalks!

"Haha, you know what would be freaking hilarious?"

"what?"

"if we put a catwalk right there, so people think they can walk right around the building

but when they reach it, there's a big gab and a fence dividing the cat walks!"

"OMG, that would be funny!"

Pointlessly big doors attached to very low walls

"Hey frank, why is that huge ass door right there?"

"umm, to disclose areas of the lab, incase of outbreaks I guess"

"But what about that low wall right next to it? I could jump that!"

"... Shut up"

Pile of rubbel instead of stairs

"Oh Damn Frank, we made the building too high!"

"Don't worry about it, we'll just put some gravel there and it'll be a sufficient ramp"

"But these are for german perfectionists! Dr Maxis is very proud!"

"I said DON'T WORRY!"

Ladders leading to a dead end

"Frank, I have another hilarious idea!"

"What's that?"

"What if we put a huge ladder to the top of the building right, so the person has to climb for ages

and when they finally reach the top, we put a fence there so they can't go any further!

They're just stuck there!"

"HAHAHA, DO it!!!"

Metal roller?

"Frank, why did you put a metal roller in an area that doesn't have an attached metal door

or any need for one, or any room for one?"

"Hey, I don't tell you how to live your life!"

Numberless clock

"Hehehe, what if we discluded numbers from the 24 hour clock, so it's nearly impossible for people

far away, to discern the time?"

"Isn't that just stupid, and going to piss alot of people off?"

Distached Cat Walk

"That wall looks kind of bland"

"Want to add some unnesescary catwalks, that nobody can reach, and that will only add

structural dissupport to the building, piss off the scientists and thin out our budgets?"

"Oh boy, DO I?"

Unreachable ladder

"Frank, I just finished adding a ladder to the chemical vat"

"What?? I just finished fencing off that vat"

"Oh... Well, at least acrobats can still reach it"

Why is the bridge even mechanical?

"Maxis has just asked that we give the bridge the ability to split and discontinue"

".... Why does he want that?"

"I think he mentioned something about making alot of pointless crap that will consume as

much electricity as possible and put everybody at a disposition"
