Alright, so in the mission sequence when Hudson reveals himself as the interrogator, and you punch him, if you press pause on that mission, the mission objectives will read: "Ascesion 9 18 8 23 8 3 8 22 15 21 17 6 16 1 7 8 19 10 22 19 23 14 17 14 22 0 12 8 8 10 7 1 1 22"

I was thinking, if you order them into Ascending, maybe we could use a cypher (like the ones used for GKNOVA6 eg;Baconian Cypher), maybe we will find a code.

I am aware the Ascension code has been mentioned before, but i wanted to draw more attention to it.

UPDATE: Hmm, this is strange. At different parts of the mission, different codes show up when you press pause. This must be looked into...

UPDATE 2: While continuing on, i pressed pause once again and this time the code has "Echelon" at the start instead of Ascension. Weird. Does anyone know what Echelon means?, a Cyhper?

I've looked into this too, and it seems that Echelon and Acension are NSA codecs, I dont think anyone really has a cipher so far, but that sint saying there is some way to solve it

Started looking into this myself, though information is scarce and incomplete; it is out there.

The link above provides a solution, but the topic is incomplete and there is possibly more than one ascension code. I guess you have to have read the book to have known what it was, as there was not enough of the cover in the vid to identify the book.

Perhaps a new topic for CoDz members to decipher all the Echelon and Ascension codes is in order.

I will edit this post after with caps of terminal Echelon and Ascension codes, I believe these are seperate to those found in campaing.

Let me put this as simply as I can, as there seems to be confusion arising on this topic.

What is refered to as the Maverick code, is the alphanumerical conversion of designates found on the loading screen for all campaing mission. Whiskey- Zulu and the like. These translate to

Designate words: xREZNOVdxISDxEAD

Transmission numbers: OR IS HE DEAD THERE WAS WHO NOBODY IS WHO NOT HE SAYS HE

The Ascension and Echelon codes can be found in the terminal and as updated objectives when playing campaing. They are not straight forward alphanumerical codes. They are one time pads, they can only be deciphered using the pad. The pad can be found using the pages of this book shown when Black Ops loads for the first time and possibly when campaing ends.

This link and the link for unfiction both provide a good explanation of the hows and why. Though a few things are unclear at the moment, I dont believe all the codes have been deciphered or they may have been but people have not posted their findings in full.
