Falling Thru the ground in Der Riese when downed?

On ps3, I have witnessed this twice; when someone goes into last stand, usually near a teleporter, they will fall through the ground, but not die, but rather just bleed out as normal.

obviously they can't be revived, which can be quite a downer (no pun intended).

this has never happened to me, so i can't tell you all what they 'saw' while down there. this never happed on w@w der riese, at least not for me to see.

anyone else witness this?
