Did the Survivors kill off the Hellhound Population?

These are just my two theories about the Hellhounds being gone:

1. They killed off the entire population

2. There isn't any teleportation in Russia, only in Germany.

I just thought this should be stated.

Or Space Monkeys fit the mood better with how Ascension is built and the story behind some of the new quotes and character designs...? Personally, I like both enemies, but if we had to toss in a theory as to why they're gone, I'd saw because Sam wanted to challenge our heroes to a new threat.

Yea they probally did monkeys because the story of ascension is that they were trying to launch monkeys into space... Wellthats part of the story. So monkeys just fit, and new challenge. But that theory could be true... I guess

I think Sams still pissed off about her monkey toy being set on fire. She must've loved the fact they were using monkey's for testing at the Russian Launch Facility. From a childs perspective "You hurt my monkey, I have the power to make these monkeys hurt you".
