Hell hounds are intelligent?

I was playing Kino earlier and i put on an electric barrier in the auditorium at the start of a dogs round. It was pretty useful to defend from one way only i thought.

A few spawned and stage and i picked them off but then a couple spawned from the lobby behind me so i turned around and saw the dogs just stop for a second and then run left into the firepit room.

I killed them when they eventually got to me but i didn't know that you couldn't use traps to kill the hell hounds.

I also wonder what might happen if you tried the same on the pentagon thief on five.

I've tried it several times, he evades the trap. He'll run around it to get to you. It was my theory on how to kill him in the higher rounds (40+) but it didn't work sadly :x
