Ascension Easter Egg DEBUNKED Theories List w/ Video

I'd just like to start a new post of all the theories to this next step that have been tested (with video proof) and proven not too work. There's a million posts on a thousand different forums on everyone's idea for the next step, but none that are dedicated to theories that have failed. Please do not respond with your idea unless its a great one. I've heard some pretty outrageous ideas out there on the next step (one post read,and I quote "all 4 players must stand at exactly north south east and west in the centerfuge room and shoot at it until it explodes HAHA),so I'd only like your input on another theory if it hasn't been stated already and it's not some crazy far-fetched idea. Like I said this is about the theories that DONT work, so feel free to comment on any methods tried. I'd like to keep this post up-to-date as possible. And please don't waste our time saying something that works if you A.) havent tried it or B.) do not have video of it. I can say I'm a millionaire all day,but until I show you the money you wouldn't believe it right? Video speaks for itself! But anyways on to it.

So we all understand the steps up until the death machines. But now the question is what we do with these freaking things?? Before I jump into the possible failed theories about what to do with them let's go over 3 other possibilities

1.The Death machines are the end. No more steps. There's a good possibility that we've done it all.Perhaps the story will continue to another map? I doubt theyd split an easter egg between two maps,but who knows.But to me it just doesnt seem right that the final reward is a pretty much useless death machine that only last a quarter of a round at the most.

2.A patch will be released March 3 when PS3 and PC recieve the map that will finish the easter egg

3.You are not suppose to recieve the death machine in order to finish the easter egg. I have read posts stating that if you recieve death machines you've done the steps incorrectly,though im sceptical.

Theories that dont work,stated by our users here on CODZ. Please respond if you have tried anything and it did not work, whether it is stated here or not.

1.Shooting the button under the Centrifuge also deosn't work I saw a guy on Youtube which the name I can't recall that tried that. - DEBUNKED (Thanks to JedesPolar!)

Also, here are some other theories that I've heard dont work but would like to find video of or input from the community on.

- While having DM's, shoot the generator outside of the door near the orb to connect the tubes to the wall

- Shoot button under rotating Machine in main room with Death machine

- Hit All Red Phones

- Shoot at/Hit all dolls simultaneously with DM's

- Do The Nodes Backwards

- Spell Out words HITSAM And HYENA (Only character dialouge will change?)

*Also a little side note, when I was playing last I noticed 4 smaller grim reaper 'blood splatters' with the bloody handprints near them on the walls (Like the handprints by the clock outside the PAP room) There's 4 not counting the one in the main room. Anyone tried anything with that? Haha maybe I'm just losing it. I suppose anything that comes in 4 on Ascension will seem a little suspicious now.

You are definitely the smartest person I've actually seen on a forum about the ascension easter egg. I felt stupid reading your post because I have gone searching for the answer through forums and have not once thought to actually group together failed ideas to eliminate them.

Hopefully, this thread will help eliminate the wild crazy theories that some people come up with. You definitely get rep for this.

Well, I've been reading up on this Andrew Uliana's facebook who says he works for Treyarch. Granted the facebook page is the "unofficial" Treyarch fanpage so it's difficult to tell if he actually does work for them. Anyway, he said there's no way not to get the deathmachines, so getting them isn't a "wrong" step. He also said that one theory was close, but he wouldn't give which theory or who's theory so it seems one of the theories is on the right track, but it isn't done yet. He also said that the steps in Vorkuta are indeed related to the Mystery Man Easter egg. Take it for what it's worth, and I'm not completely convinced this guy actually works for Treyarch, but I figure you're looking at all angles, including the more ridiculous theories about it so you might as well add this to the pile. Like someone posted in the comments, the answer is most likely a shadow. Which is interesting as, if I remember correctly, the characters do not have any shadows. This can't be laziness on treyarch's part because i'm pretty sure MP characters have shadows.

And to answer your question, the shadows are visible, easier in solo to see as in multi the textures are reduced to keep the game running smoothing.

Haha, it's funny that you mention that, I've been starting to check up on his FB page the last couple days. I dont know where I heard his name but I decided to check it out.I've heard him mention the same thing though, we're close we're just not quite there. But I agree with you, we gotta take it for what it's worth. It does say it is the 'unofficial Treyarch fan page' in the info section, so that could really mean anyone is runnning it. It's all sort of speculation on whether he legit works for Treyarch or not. But thanks for the input.

Right on man! This is exactly what I'm going for! I'm hoping this can turn into a resource page for people trying to solve the mystery before PS3 and PC owners get a crack at it! I've seen this video as well! I'm pretty sure someone on here made a thread about it. The short death machines was definately strange. People say that it may have just been a glitch in the game,but I dont know. Seems weird that it was short DMs AND they lost their secondaries, too much coincidence if you ask me. But I'll post it up here as a reference as well.
