Symbol Found On Ascension (Needed Research)

Does anybody know what this symbol means, or even IS? I need to do my share of research. I need help though. I used search and couldn't find this in the Ascension forum. Found this on the side of that generator.

To me it just looks like they jazzed up the Soviet "Hammer and Sickle". Ascension is set in a Soviet Cosmodrome, so it definetly makes sense.

Looks to me as though it's a made up logo for the place that Ascension takes place in. Where Yuri & Gersch work. Made up by Treyarch. But it still has elements of the Soviet Hammer & Sickle. Nice logo there.

I've always thought this was the symbol for the Ascension Group, like Group 935's symbol with the hand holding the atom and a gear.

It's a different version of the symbol found on Launch in several places. The only difference is that they've edited in a skull on the bottom.

Edit: I've just been looking on google, and have found a similar logo, although it is a really bad shot of a small lapel pin with it on.
