You could try a guest membership, a user could be given a account name(randomly chosen) and after say 10 days it becomes inactive and they would have to renew it by becoming a member. If they don't well that's there loss. It would cut down on permanent inactive members.

Maybe there should be some sort of "Initiation Ceremony" to where, like Teddy_RuXp1n said, there's a randomly given temp username, and they have to make a certain number of contributions to the forum before becoming an actual "Member"... As for the number of contributions, that's up to you...

You should get say, 1 view of a thread, then they have to sign up to see other threads. Like giving a baby a lollipop then taking it away again. Baby is gonna want lollipop NAOW.

I think codz should either feauture trial-like option for non-members or just have it members only for only the hardcore zombie fans.

I think it would be best to have a general discussion area - viewable by the public. Then make a members area with all the investigation and important zombie work is kept - viewable by members only.
