we've all seen them.. does anyone know what they do at all? at first i thought it changed the path the maze thing took, but that seems to just be random.

I do know some of the symbols are Mayan numbers:

But have not yet found anything with the squarey C shape bits in the symbols....

(Sorry if this has been posted somewhere, couldn't find it thouugghhhh)
