Well, it can be very difficult without 4 people.

If you want to keep your perks, try to not buy the doors to some perks like Stamin-Up, Jugger-Nog, etc.

Buying Quick Revive only can help, as it's easy to protect, and is vital on SOLO.

If you plan on buying Quick Revive and Juggernog, open the bottom door to Jug so that that is the only entrance. If you are buying Jug and NOT Quick Revive, ONLY OPEN THE TOP and it becomes really easy. If only getting jug, never open the bottom, it's makes the machine much more vulnerable and it is the most essential.

In higher rounds I only try to protect Jug and quick revive, after round 40ish i have over 80k points and it wont be a problem buying them all again. It's also easier to collect points in those high rounds so it shouldn't be too big of a problem.

every time i play co-op, i try the following:

escape upstairs, camp phd until power. back to phd where we both purchase only phd. we do this early as we can. survive through two monkey rounds without jug. all you gotta do is protect phd as that is the only one the monkey can go after. by the end of monkey round 2, hope you both got jug, if not, mad-dash to juggernog machine.

It all depends on your team.

If you're on SOLO:

- Forget all other Perks on high rounds, except Juggernog and QUick Revive.

Losing other perks doesn't matter.

If monkeys take these, you're officially dead and won't be able to save the other perks anyway

If you're in a GOOD team:

- 1 person at each of the best perks.

(If somebody has a PaPed M1911s, they can take both Quick Revive and Juggernog)

- The player guarding Marathon MUST use the fire trap

(it kills monkeys instantly, and gets you the Achievement)

If you're in a BAD team:

- Protect Juggernog.

You're screwed if you lose it.

DON'T EVER:

- Throw an uncooked grenade at a Monkey (it will throw it back)

- Try to run past a line of Monkeys more than 2 monkeys long (one will slow you, the rest kill you)

- Throw a Gersch device at a Monkey (they'll jump in harmlessly)

- Shoot a monkey with the Thundergun (it hardly does anything)

If you are playing solo, the only way you are going to keep your perks (and possibly get a 5th perk) is by wisely storing and setting up your claymores before hand.

If the monkey's see the claymores they'll take the time to blow them up before hitting the perk machines. This slows down the monkeys. It also gives you an audio cue as to where they are, or where they may be headed. So this in itself in invaluable to helping chase them down before they get to your machines.

However, some well placed claymores on the map can actually kill the monkeys off for you. For this to happen you have to set the claymores up in a way so the monkey can't see the claymore until he is already within the blast radius. And I have three different techniques for this type of claymore setup:

1.) Adjacent to a doorway, so once the monkey walks through a doorway, there is a claymore to the immediate right or left, that will blow it up.

2.) Top of a stair case. If the monkey is climbing a set of stairs, he won't be eye-to-eye with the claymore to blow it up, until it's right within the claymore's cross hairs.

3.) The bottom of the drop areas in the Main spawn room. If the monkeys come from outside, and drop down to get to your quickrevive or jugg machines, you can put a claymore down right where they drop before hand, to blow them up.

Things to note:

- The Speed Cola is the hardest to defend solo because it's the farthest away from any other perk machines. But it's also the easiest to defend with claymores. There are a good number of 90 degree turns and tops of stair cases to put claymores on before the monkeys can reach the machine.

- Keep the top door in the Jugg room closed. Only open up the bottom door to get to Jugg. This makes it so the Monkeys can only hit that machine from one direction, and have to run by Quickrevive first to do so. So you can effectively protect both those machines from one spot if you only keep the one bottom door to Jugg available.
