Easter Egg Glitch shut-down?

So a few weeks ago I attempted to do the Moon Easter egg with some friends (mind you i haven't done the shangri-la easter egg or the call of the dead EE) and we did the entire EE all the way up to the point after you Fill all the tubes with the 75 souls by the pyramid (so we put the Rod in between the panels and Richtofen got all his perks) shortly after that we died so we couldn't complete the EE

Now, as of yesterday, i decided to go back and do the Call of the Dead EE, and i completed it.

Today i went onto Moon with 3 randoms and Richtofen did have the golden rod in his inventory. We did everything perfectly up to the point when you're supposed to put the golden rod in between the panels and type of the computer. Once we got there, it wouldn't allow us to put in the rod (even though the panels were present)

We did the following beforehand: Did the game of Simon Says

We used the hacker in the laboratories and hacked all the green panels are turned on the four rectangular switches (they remained blinking afterwards)

Have excavator Pi break through tunnel 6- then continued to collect the beginning tube of souls and flip the switch so Sam would appear.

We went down to earth and shot down the panels and gersh'ed them back to earth, and then threw our QED onto the panels to transport them to the terminal.

Are we missing any steps leading up to that point? For what reason could it be that it wasn't allowing us to put the Golden Rod into the location? I know it's not a 'oh you didn't do the easter egg' blah blah crap i've been hearing. Because i got farther in the easter egg last week than i did today after i completed the call of the dead Easter Egg.

Any help would be nice!

I think you may have missed the lead pipe wich is an hidden item you need to grab in order to put the vril generator where the computer.

Well it appears you did all stepscorrectly up to that point. I will note though, when I got to that step I had a little trouble putting the rod and stone into place when I did it as well. I ended up walking away and coming back and it worked fine, but the first few times I tried it it wouldn't take it.

I totally forgot about the wire/pipe. That's most likely what you were missing. I think it can be found in one of the levels of the lab?
