There is no reason go there.

It's too expensive.

No pyramids on The Moon. (how do you make a word a hyperlink)

Unmanned missions are cheaper.

Done The Moon, next is Mars.

Also NASA or Obama wants a Moon base by 2020.

that was george bush, and the plan was scrapped, like I said.

I believe once the development of carbon nanotubes into larger chains is accomplished, the space elevator will be constructed and exploration to the moon and beyond will be possible. But not before.

With the way the space program has been, the US will lag behind other countries. China's making significant advancements. So is Japan. Russia was doing well until their Mars rover crashed earlier this year. Even India is starting a space program. Where is the US? Well, let's see... NASA's practically penniless. At least the SETI program is back up and running!... because of PRIVATE donations. Glad to see that the entire universe is low on the agenda.

Do we? Who is to say what is advanced? Our technology for sending men to the Moon is a couple decades old. The Chinese, while I don't know the current state of their plans, announced a year or two ago plans on sending a man in space themselves. That's the Chinese; they always want to do it for themselves. Sense of pride or something, not that that's bad. They also imploy nuclear technology, which is extremely efficient. The only drawback is IF you mess up. And, with NASA cut, who is to say another country won't surpass us in technology? Japan already has surpassed us in technology in many fields. If they are taking an interest in space, then when will they pass us, given their capability in technology elsewhere?

have you been introduced to the United States' newest Mars rover?

No?

you'll have to excuse me for being unimpressed by Russia's failure to land a glorifed RC, or India who had NASA holding their hands every step of the way. China has only begun its first manned missions, mostly to space stations we built.

We have the designs and know-how to build an elevator to space. The only thing we need to complete it is another small advance in another field we are unquestionably dominating. We have, by far, the most advanced space faring technology on the planet.

If there is no reason to go back to the Moon why is there a reason to build more and more Nukes the only threating country that could reach us is Japan but we protect them other wise there is no reasons for nukes there extremly dangrous they have a slight possability that with setting a nuke off could turn the earth into a second sun by rearranging the hydorgen particals and atoms.

First we have only used 2 nukes and that was in WWII, In the cold war gaundi's ghost interfered and we only fought with words and that wasted enough money to go back to the moon. Second an underwater nucular attack is extreamly unlikely do to China knows destroy America and they would have a worse stockmarket then America from nobody buying there products. North Korea doesn't have the technolegy to reach us by air or sea because they are not a fully developed country, they have the technoegy that we did in WWII and the 60's or 70's.

What? I could've sworn we've been on the Moon recently... So you're telling me we've only been on there once?

But really, if they've been there once they can do it again... Right?

First time man was on the moon = 1969

Last time man was on the moon = 1972

3 years difference.

I have no idea where you've been.

The Spaceship Moon Theory, also known as the Vasin-Shcherbakov Theory, is a theory that claims the Earth's moon may actually be an alien spacecraft...

I don't see why the aliens would want to be on the Moon. It's just a big rock in space orbiting Earth, nothing I would think that an alien would want to live on, with the constant impact, nearly inability to support independent life, etc.

Thats on the surface.

Hollow Moon.

Take this video with a pinch of salt.

"Alpha Draconis" :lol::lol:

Thuban also known by its Bayer designation Alpha Draconis (α Draconis, α Dra) is a star (or star system) in the constellation of Draco. A relatively inconspicuous star in the night sky of the Northern Hemisphere, it is historically significant as having been the north pole star in ancient times. Thuban is an Arabic word for snake ثعبان thuʿbān.

Ningizzida, Lord of the Tree of Life, mentioned in the Epic of Gilgamesh and linked to the water serpent constellation Hydra.

Hmm, where have we see water serpents in zombies...? I wonder... Could it be:-

Wasnt jfks plan to carry on with apollo 18-20 and then move on to mars with Nuclear propulsion but this was cancelled by the nixon administration and the cancelled apollo funds where redirected into the shuttle

Interesting thing to think about when you consider the ending of black ops

We've been there 7 times. Apollo 11,12,13,14,15,16, and 17. Firš was in 1969 And the last was in '72.

Ok i hadnt read that i was just under the assumption that there was a reason for orion to be continued and i know it wasnt the only reason but the Partial Nuclear Test Ban Treaty helped put that on the back burner

What was the reason to keep a project alive for a spacecraft if they had no intentions of using it?

Why was the Space Nuclear Propulsion Office set up?

What was the nerva project for?

Sorry im not great with space history but didnt Kennedy push forward the plan to go to the moon

Why didnt he wind down these other projects and pool all resources into man on the moon

Sorry im being lazy and cant be bothered to read about it and im sure someone can tell me in this thread

the study of nuclear propulsion engines is still alive and well, there is much promise still to be found in that field. Long-range spacecraft would need to be powered through means beyond chemical and battery equipment, it is generally accepted this would be accomplished with some sort of combination of NERVA-style nuclear rockets and ion thrusters (which could most easily be powered with nuclear engines).

Kennedy did push forward the plan to go to the Moon, his famous speech was given in 1961. However, he died in 1963. We did not actually land on the moon until 1969, under Nixon.

Nixon ended up cancelling the remainder of the Apollo missions and other deep cuts to NASA's budget because the Space Race was never especially popular with the American public to begin with. Even after the moon landing, only 53 percent of Americans believed the achievement was worth the cost, most believing the money should have been put towards programs at home

The Space Nuclear Propulsion Office was mostly during the Mercury space program, we thought just dropping nukes out the back of a spacecraft and riding the resulting explosion was a cheap and efficient way to get a man into space. The nuclear test ban treaty made this illegal, which shut down that office and that program.

The NERVA nuclear rocket program was set up not to get around this, but to provide a much better solution. Its proposition was to be a successor of the Saturn rockets we used to get the Apollo missions to the moon; the next target of NASA after landing on the moon was a manned mission to Mars using NERVA equipment. It was the cuts in funding due to popular pressure that ended this.
