Article about BO2 - 8 Player Zombies, will run off MP engine

Personally, I hope they don't make it competitive with teams fighting for who gets the most points fastest or whatever. That would be bad.

Also not to mention, what happens when someone quits? Will it use the multiplayer engine to find a replacement? Does this mean we could get *randomly* chosen to be put into certain games, even if they are past round 20, 30, or even 50?

I'm not quite sure how to take the 50 zombies per wave thing. Does this also mean double the amount of zombies per round?

If so that's bad, would just take even more time and guns would need much more ammo.

If not, then wonder weapons would need to be adjusted so you either don't kill full groups with them and only half groups, or have less ammo on them.

Having less ammo to compensate, I don't like the sound of.

But having a wonder weapon with the normal amount of ammo that would kill a group of 25 when there are 50 available sounds nice. That basically means gathering 2 spawns in one go, then a quick double shot to clear them. This would obviously be quicker than it is currently so I do like the sound of this.

I have thought about the 8 person mode for a while, and I really don't think it will be classic with more people. My guess is it would be competitive co-op. When I heard of the new modes I had hoped for stuff like escorting survivors, planting bombs, and holding positions. I am still very excited for 8 person zombies, but I hope they have much more than that.

I would like an option to join a zombie game back you got lagged out of. For example somewhere on the zombie menu would be recent games, and if the game was still progressing you could join back. You would receive the points/guns/perks you had when you disconnected. If you quit, you will join back with a pistol/no perks/ no points. Also with the ability to have 8 players in a zombie game supposedly and different modes, I have some modes to offer up.

8 Players= 2 Teams of 4, Easter egg search. Search for a easter egg in a certain map, who can complete it first? Also similar to a Easter egg hunt but not regarding a map's easter eggs. Easter egg hunt- 8 Players 2 teams of 4, complete a list of objectives before the other team For ex: 1st objective: Have at least one member of your team buy a gun off the wall 2nd objective: 2 members of team get a gun in the mystery box 3rd objective: Get a combined point count of 5000 in your team 4th objective: Have your team open 2 doors etc etc.. you could complete an objective by accident or look at the objective list, as the list goes on it would be harder and harder. The objective lists would consist of a desired number of objectives 20-60. If your whole team is downed, you can get revived by the other team and the other team would choose 5 objectives they dont have to do, or split 40,000 points equally. Or they can let you die and get more time to complete objectives without your team in the way, your team would not spawn until the round is over, but crawlers would not be acceptable, seeing as many objectives would involve zombies anyway, they would be needed, plus a max of 3 mins with crawlers would be allowed.

Based on the number of players things would run differently if you had 7 players the teams would be uneven, the team with less players would receive some benefits. If you have less than 8 players the amount of points/objectives in the easter egg hunt that could be gained would drop based on the amount of players

The 8 player game modes would consist of random characters, these 8 would change every map. But the standardized zombie mode would be 4 players! The 4 players we would expect to be in original zombies after the moon easter egg.

What do you guys think?

This is the absolute ONLY excuse I would let pass for a join in function. If you were already in the game and timed out/disconnected. But honestly, under no circumstances besides that, should there EVER be ANY sort of join in function. A spectator mode, FINE, let people learn by watching good players but besides that absolutely not. No join ins except in those instances.

As for 8 player zombies, I don't really like the idea. I'll probably try it out to see if it's a complete mess but really 8 (if its in the style of regular 4 player mode) is suicide. By round 25 zombies wouldn't die with out the use of raygun, 2x as many zombies on the map, and 2x the number of zombies per round? That has bad idea written all over it to me. Just round 40 in a game with 3 people took me 7 hours, had to constantly be risking my ass to get my raygun back after i used it up and emptied it, and all because there was only 1 person who had the wave gun. Thats 3 players not even 4. So really just imagine the hell that would be.

I personally think 8 players is too much for Zombies. They should have kept it at 4. As a result of the upgrade the game mode will lose that feel of isolation, and it will also lower the necessity for team cooperation and communication. I hope they still have a matchmaking playlist for 4-players as well as 8.

I agree. I think what the mean by MP engine, they're refering to host migration, ranks and the ability to have more things going on at once like more zombies.
