Game Mode Idea: Crossover

For a while now, before the Black Ops DLC was done releasing, I have had an idea for a game mode that I call Crossover. It would merge Zombies and Multiplayer. The zombie maps as they are now would be unfit for Multiplayer, but I feel that with a few tweaks they could be implemented. This mode would be like Wager Matches, in the way that it is not like Domination or Team Deathmatch, it is a whole new way to play. All of the regular game modes would be in here, just with the zombies twist.

As we all know by now, Zombies now uses the Multiplayer engine. If it can handle more players and more zombies, couldn't it handle even more players and less zombies?

Points can be earned and be used to buy things in the map. Points are earned in the same way as in zombies. You can earn points by shooting other players too. (A headshot on a player or a zombie would both award 100 points)

Features

Random Zombies

Zombies would come out of barriers at random times in the area. Zombies would target still players the most, unless they were in the area of an objective. The zombies would always sprint and deal 50 points of damage per hit. Killing a zombie awards 30 XP.

Hellounds can also spawn. There are two ways for them to spawn. One is a random replacement of a zombie, the other is a Hellhound round (I call them hell rounds). Hell rounds would be signaled just like they re in regular Zombies. Killing a dog would award 30 XP.

Revamped Maps

The maps used for Crossover would not be as they are now. Spawns would be horrible or the game would be slow paced. To fix this, the only maps used would be the medium or large maps like Call of the Dead, Moon, Ascension, Der Riese, and Kino Der Toten. If the new Face Off mode introduced in MW3 is brought back, Nacht Der Untoten could be used also. The maps would have various edits made to them. For exmple, if you were playing Kino Der Toten, the seating area near the PM63 would be collapsed allowing you get to the teleporter quickly.

Interactive Maps

Teleporters, electricity, power-ups, and traps would keep people not only trying to stay alive and win the game, but also moving to gain an upper hand.

Teleporters would work at no cost on any map, but would let others know where you are.

The electricity would not only need to be turned on at the start of each match, but players would also suffer from power outages. Because power is required for the other interactive features, you would want it on at all times. If the electricity is off, zombies will spawn more often.

Power-ups would work a bit differently. They would drop randomly when a zombie is killed or be droped when an enemy objective is taken. Power-ups only give the effect to the team that picked them up. Insta-Kill would be horrible for Multiplayer, so instead it would give bonus damage for headshots and one hit kills on zombies. The Nuke would only kill zombies. Double Points would also give double XP.

Traps would cost less points to use, but one player can only activate a trap once in the match. An announcement would be heard telling what trap was activated. For example, it may say, "West sentry activated, avoid that area for 60 seconds".

The Mystery Box can still be used in this version. The Ray Gun and certain grenades can be aquired, but they are much weaker to humans.

Perk-a-Colas and Pack-a-Punch can be bought for the regular amount of points they usually cost. You may only have two zombie perks in a match, but they do not go away when you die.

New Killstreaks

The killstreak system would use the old 3, 5, 7 setup.

3 kills- Zombie. This killstreak would spawn a single zombie to kill the other team. A friendly zombie would have green eyes, an enemy zombie would have red eyes, and a neutral zombie would have yellow eyes.

5 kills- Nova Zombie. This killstreak would send a Nova zombie to attack the enemy. When it explodes, the gas does as much damage as the Nova-6 special grenade. The color of the gas would be blue for friendly, red for enemy, and green for neutral.

7 kills- Hellhounds. This killstreak sends 3 Hellhounds at the enemy. The color of the flame would show the team it is on. Green for friendly, red for enemy, and yellow for neutral.

This could be very fun, although I think they would be better off just making some new maps for this rather than using the old ones, just simply in terms of gameplay.

Also, what are the "objectives" that you mentioned a couple of times?

Posted

Because all of the original modes would be included, the objectives would be stuff like Domination flags, Search and Destroy bomb sites, etc.

Power-ups would work a bit differently. They would drop randomly when a zombie is killed or be droped when an enemy objective is taken.

What I meant by this was that if an enemy controlled the B domination flag and you took it, you would earn a power-up.
