Zaptn. Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 I think BO2 should include a save game feature for solo zombies, im currently playing moon but really cbb but don't want to quit it, i think a save game option would be really nice, you can on IOS. :)
deathb4di2h0nor Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 I agree. This follows the same reasons I would want a "vote to pause" feature for co-op. A lot of people have things they have to do and life throws curve balls all the time. I like it, I like it ALOT. [brains]

[brains] Yeh, a vote to pause system would work well in private match game modes and maybe even with randoms, if you could save a private game with x amount of players then that would be quite good i think, you would be able to turn of your console and do what you need and then resume the game when x amount of players are online. Obviously, when you died/game ended you would have the option to delete the saved game file so your memory isn't clogged up, but you could also keep it for theatre and stuff.
Administrators Tac Posted July 4, 2012 Administrators Posted July 4, 2012 I'm for a pause button but not a save button for the same reasons people were against the pause button. I think at a save button would let people be able to span the game out for too long and it would takes out the integrity of the high solo rounds. Not many people would be able to differentiate from Superhands' virtually straight 115 on FIVE compared to another persons 115 on FIVE over the span of 4 weeks if they were to implement this.
deathb4di2h0nor Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Ahh good point. Can I get a link? I have real problems with five.
selectyeti89 Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 With the option to save people would be able to get to infinite rounds. Someone who could make it to the 100+ would be able to save a game and then start back up and go afew more rounds and they could continue that for months and be able to reach rounds like 300 eventually. I really dont like the idea of changing zombies this much, adding pause and save options. I also dont care if you dnt agree with me just to let everyone that is going to say I have no life because I dont want a save option know .

Be it using a pause button or leaving a crawler yeti.
Superhands Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Maybe a good idea, but I think when you saved, it would exit the game automatically and you could only load the save once, once loaded it would automatically be deleted from your system. That'd just be cheating if you saved on 50, died on 51 and reloaded the game at 50
Zaptn. Posted July 5, 2012 Author Posted July 5, 2012 Re-loading the game once you died would be terrible if they implemented that, i just think it would be a nice feature if you're on a solo game and need to do something, then it would come in convenient. I suppose it would be better if it didn't count towards leaderboards.
selectyeti89 Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 Whats wrong with just pausing if you need to go do something?
John Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 I could see how this could be implemented; somewhat like a system where you save the game on a certain round, and then you could chose the save in the load menu, and it would give some information and what not. This could definitely be implemented, but I could imagine there would be various issues associated with it. For starters, the amount of MB one save would take up, and the large file sizes. Also, there could be modding issues, involving loading pre made saves, and if they were to somehow implement the leaderboards with Solo, this would be an issue, as I could imagine there would be various exploits as well. I also don't think it's really needed, as in Solo you can just press pause, and the game will pause for you, and you don't have to worry about it restarting or anything.
Daveyjone Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 I will point out one thing, whatever you do to prevent people abusing the system, they will always find a way to abuse it Look at nultiplayer, all that nerfing and still people are finding ways to get as many kills and climb the leaderboards... I for one love this idea, just don't try to find a way to prevet people from abusing it that will defeat the purpous of the save, so you can continue to have fun if you don't have time to finish [brains]
A Drunk Soviet Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 How about instead you just play a 1-2 hour game and have fun instead of a 10 hour game of walking in circles?
way2g00d Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 +1 to what Milo said. A pause function is not so much different from Save except for pause the game has to be running and most people don't like that, of-course on pc its a different story because PC's are designed to stay running for longer periods of time when compared to consoles. This is why a save feature would be nice. Something like this would work. Let's say you finished round 'whatever' and the number starts to flash and you get a Prompt, "would you like to save the game and resume later? " Once you save it, it will be present in your save files just like any other game. You could always disable this prompt from your settings if this feature is not for you Also to re-iterate what Super said, once you die you won't be able to use your save files for that current game, in other words all your saves for that game will be deleted if you permanently die. If not we are changing the game too much and making it too easy. For co-op a save feature can be something like you stop at end of certain round, save and you can resume at any time you want with your partner, given there are present in the same lobby to continue. It's doable but I strongly doubt 3arc will ever implement this. Theater mode would be great if they implemented this save function, lets say you are past a high round and still going your game will automatically be recorded randomly each round and be placed in your theater mode for reference to public to prove that it is legit.
Sazh333 Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 A vote to pause option in co-0p would be an amazing feature.
dhs-nnz54 Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 A save would be nice, but as others said people would be able to reach high rounds with ease. This would have to limit the save to only private matches and cannot be ranked online....but it would cause speculation to new world records that'll be broken when BO2 comes out
SaLaD_FiNgErS_HD Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 If there are solo leaderboards involved i'd prefer not to have the option to save. It would allow everyone to get really high rounds. Either that or once you save your game you can't register on the leaderboards. Other than that, I think it's a great idea.
DaPikmin Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 I'm fine with it, but just as long as it's solo only. If they do put in a save feature online, it better be only for private matches and it can only resume using the same exact players.
AceClouds Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 a vote to pause and a save game option are both really great ideas especially if youre trying to get those huge rounds but dont feel like playing for almost 24 hours straight
Rydo Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 No a good idea to me. Would take away the impressiveness of high round games. The most amazing detail of high round games is the concentration the player was able to keep up for 10-20+ hours (granted with breaks, but not coming back to it over the course of weeks) so allowing someone to take a break as long as they wanted would be terrible. And being able to reload where you saved would be an even bigger disaster. people would just save every round. then if they downed, just reload and go again. would never work.
Pokarnor Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 It would be nice to have a save system. I know you can just pause, but it'd be better if you didn't have to leave a console on for days on end (they're not made to withstand that like PCs are, so there's a chance of overheating) or to be able to play other games between high round sessions. I think though the save should automatically delete itself after being loaded, because it would be cheap if you died and then just went to your last save.
