So it's been confirmed that the knife is a 2 hit kill unless you equip a combat knife.

i'm assuming that it will still probably be one hit kill in hardcore game modes? otherwise it would be almost completely useless in hardcore modes... :|

I would assume, yes. Players in CoD as it is now have 100 health, and the knife does 130 damage. In hardcore gametypes you have 30 health instead. If the knife is a two hit kill, then it has to do at least 50 damage.
