Zombie level

Anybody know how the leveling system works? I've got the skull now and my friend who was in the game with me is still at the crossed bones. He got more kills and revives than me but I got more score. Would really love to know what the requirements are for each one and how many there are.

I think the 2 crossed bones (X) is level 3 & the skull is level 2. If you look at your profile, next to the said picture are strikes like the "rounds" strikes in-game. The skull has 2 & the cross-bones have 3.

Sorry I don't know how the levelling works, it may just be overall game score points?

I went from 1 bone to 2 bones to skull while keeping 2 tally marks beside the emblem so I believe the tallys are independent of that. I'd just like to know what is needed to change the emblem from skull to ????

Thats what I was wondering. I know for the leaderboards the strikes is the number of players you have. What I don't know is how they apply to your zombies emblem.

And also, do these ranks actually do anything? Is it just to see the level of skill of people in a lobby? Because there is no lobby leaderboard and there is nothing to unlock.

I think the image (1 bone, crossed bones, skull, etc) are Major ranks, whereas the tallies are just your progression toward the next rank? Idk

But more importantly, the only function of these seems to e to give you an idea of the skill level of people in your lobby. That being said, can you go down a rank after a really bad game?

I mean, oh zees is SOO confusing

Yeah I'm pretty confused also.. From what I've seen, crossbones is lvl 2 , skull is 3, and I would assume that pic alpha has as his avatar pic is either the last level or close to it.
