well i searched the forums to see if anyone had any info about it and found nothing. i was playing with a random and he said wen your tryna rank up in a public match and one of the ppl leave or timeout, your progress doesnt count...is that true?

In my experience, your leaderboard round only counts to the point when the person left. Not sure about the other stats or rank though.

This is correct. Rounds freeze when the player leaves. Stats still count until game ends.
