Red dot on NAV card

Anyone know the significance of the red dot that will occasionally appear on a NAV card? I've noticed it a few times but have never made a note of it, and was just playing TranZit with my brother. We both have the NAV card, and they both looked like a plain, black-and-goldish computer chip. Except occasionally, his would have a red dot in the center of it. Sometimes it would disappear, and sometimes it would stay there for a bit. Mine never got the red dot.

Like I said, I know I've seen this before, so I'm going to keep looking into it and making notes on it.

By the way, and not that it matters (but it might), I was Russman and he was either Samuel or Marlton.

There's no significance, it's just a dot of blood from the blood splatter on the bottom right of your HUD. NGTZombies explained that.
