Die Rise reminds me of Der Riese?

I don't know about anyone else, but when I first saw the leak, I thought Die Rise sounded more like Der Riese than High Rise. This is probably me thinking in context with Zombies, but did anyone else see this relation too?

A lot of people around the internet have!

Personally, I can see why, but it doesn't really have any relation. Is it because people pronounce "Riese" as "rise" instead of "reese", the correct way?

Der Riese:

Pronunced d-air rees-uh

Translation: The Giant.

Die Rise:

Pronounced dee Rise

Translation: The Rise

Note that Der Die and Das all mean THE in German and are only changing based on the gender of the word. Provided treyarch is following that.

I know my phonetics suck but I hope they worked.

Actually, "Der Anstieg" is the German equivalent of "The Rise". If you pronounce it the English way (dye Rise) it's a pun on highrise, a type of building structure.

I only found them similar because the spelling is so close to each other. But I've always said "reese" not "rise" so that wasn't a comparison for me.

To me it looks literally like "DIE" "RISE". Not in German or anything, all English.

Exactly what I was thinking. And that die rise isn't a map name, but a MODE name!

Where you DIE and RISE again as a zombie when you die...
