EE difference between Custom games and public match?

Hi everyone. Is there a difference between completing the EE in a public match vs. completing it in a custom game? If you clear it in one, is it set up in the other? Will a custom game save progress?

Everything will complete and save, as long as you are on Original setting in custom game (Won't let you do the EE in Easy anyway). The only bonus of doing it in Public game VS Custom is Leaderboards.
