Stats Reset error?

One day I randomly opened up the main menu on zombies and opened it up I got a pop up and it told me my persistant stats and upgrades has been reset to Lvl 3? Confused I quickly exited out of the pop up hoping my stats didn't reset.

Everything was fine so I entered a solo game, of course most my persistant upgrades were gone except for a few

What confused me more is it told me I was set back down to level 3.

The perma perks I had were just deadshot and steel barriers all other ones I knew were gone, including Jugg.

Weird enough I didnt know perma perks could be reset.. and it goes by Levels?

Level 3 refers to the skull emblem, I've had one of these messages in the past but I don't know what caused it. I'm pretty sure it's nothing to do with the persistant upgrades.

The ranking system is, confusingly, referred to as your persistant rank, so I can see the confusion.
