~Map Names: The Binomial Nomenclature~

For those who don't know what a binomial nomenclature is...

An animal's scientific name consists of its genus name and species name. There are seven layers of classification for living organisms, starting with the least specific (domain) and ending with the most specific (species.) genus is the second most specific classification for organisms. For example, a human's genus is Homo, and our species is Sapiens, so our binomial nomenclature is Homo Sapiens. It's our two-part name.

Ok so we know that technically maps in black ops 2 have a name and a mode. However both main-line zombies maps featured for the game so far only have one "mode" available. This leads me to believe that for these maps (and likely any other DLC maps) the map name and mode is simply a form of binomial nomenclature.

Think of it this way.

Look at the map names.

Green run's name tells us that the map's location is in Hanford Washington. Great Leap Forward's name tells us that it takes place in China (although we already knew that thanks to a few resident masterminds.)

now look at the maps' "Modes." TranZit implies a form of public transportation used to travel around the map. Die Rise is a play on of Highrise, and the idea of rising in a skyscraper implies the use of lifts or elevators.

Anyway, what I mean is that any map's binomial nomenclature (map name / mode) are hints towards their location and mode of "TranZportation" respectively. Just keep your eyes peeled for it with future DLC.
