What DON'T You Want to See in Mob of the Dead?

I heard that the fog near Alcatraz IRL rolls through periodically. So If certain outside areas were infested with denziens every 5 rounds or so, I wouldn't mind them so much. And honestly I doubt it was a lazily added sound effect TBH. They could have just used the signature zombies death laugh instead of this highly specific one.

I really wouldn't mind this. I love periodic events, and CotD did that well with the fog. As long as its not permanent I'm fine.

I suppose as long as they don't change the core zombies gameplay, I'll be happy. As in, you defend yourself with various weapons and traps, keep the windows boarded up, and survive till you go down. Oh, I don't want see Moon sized glitches that break the game either.

Thought of another one - NO WAITING.

I hated waiting for the bus on TranZit or waiting for the elevators on Die Rise. Those 2 elements practically forced you to leave zombie at the end of the round if you wanted to go hit the box/buy perks etc. I just want a fast action map like Kino, Der Riese, or Ascension.

If you want fast action, don't save a zombie. ;)

I loved the verticality of die rise. It was innovative and clever. However It really established a type of bizarre isolation in multiplayer. The map flows in one direction (trample steam > buddha room > power room > dragon roof > repeat). This either separated players or forced them together, which made revives really hard. this was countered by who's who to a degree, but one guy with a pistol and no perks is hardly a fair trade for someone reviving you who is armed to the teeth.

So yeah. I don't want to see that type of structure again. Die Rise is epic, but Once is quite enough for me.

I think you're missing the point here. You save a zombie to do things you need to do. Saving a zombie to run and get a couple perks, work on the Easter egg, hit the box, etc is one thing.... at least you're doing something. Standing around for minutes at a time waiting for a bus or elevator is just plain boring as hell. Mind-numbingly boring. When Ascension came out I was still playing that map regularly by the time CotD came out. I played Die Rise two nights ago and it was the first time I had played BO2 zombies in weeks. And my Die Rise run the other night didn't make it past round 1 because after 2 minutes of waiting for that stupid Quick Revive elevator to build the Tramplesteam I couldn't handle the boredom anymore and quit.

So yeah... the #1 thing I don't want to see is some stupid waiting around for transportation mechanic like 3Arc seems to be obsessed with in this game. It's absolutely ruined zombies for me so far.

I also don't want the boss to be coming back every single round or take 5,000,000 points of damage before dying. Have him come back like every 5 rounds and have like 3 times the health of the zombies on that round and I'm cool with it. And don't multiply his health depending on how many people are in the game.

Don't want the secret song to be A7XYZ, M&M, Skrillyzexes, or even that guy that sang the last 2. I'd prefer to have Elena back... though the song in the trailer sounded very Elena-esque and if that's it I think I can dig it.

I don't want to see Treyarch focusing on needless nerfs to guns when there are really bad glitches in the game (there will be, there always are... but they need to focus on fixing them). Leave the gun recoil and wonderweapons alone. Fix what's broken, not what's working.

As far as storyline... it's secondary to me. Yes, I do find the story very interesting, but if this map is unrelated or very loosely related I have no problem with that. A map that's fun to play is a hell of a lot more important to me than the narrative.

I want real wonderweapons back. Not buildable crap that you can't upgrade. The Blundergat seems like a step in the right direction, but I don't know if it's quite there yet.

I don't want an EE that requires 4 players to complete. CotD did it perfectly... a way to do it solo and a more complex way to do it co-op.

I don't want them to waste the voice acting talent they have in this map. I swear it seemed like they had 10 quotes for each character in CotD that repeated endlessly. It got really annoying very fast. "Whatevs, I'm a black belt in Taekwando!" Eurgh.

I don't want a needlessly big map. Yes, I want a big one... but not a mostly empty, pointlessly big map like TranZit. Don't think that's going to be the case here, though.

And finally, I want there to be a way to end the game without dying. And I'm calling it right now... there won't be. They're giving us a big tease and making it seem like we can "escape" the map (meaning end the game by completing something), but I've got huge doubts that will be the case. Hopefully I'm wrong... don't think I am.

Mob of the Dead is the last chance Treyarch has to redeem themselves as far as I'm personally concerned. CoD multiplayer has just gotten boring as hell to me, and BO2 zombies has been a pretty massive disappointment to me so far. If this map is another fail, BO2 may be only the second game ever that I trade in (the first being MW3, BTW).

Edit; remembered one more... I would like them to patch the game so we can actually keep crawlers around or at least not make it such a pain in the ass to keep a runner. That and the waiting are the two things I hate most about this game so far.

I find this to be disrespectful. Those artists have done amazing things for the music industry and to make fun of their names is uncalled for and unnecessary. Do it in somebody else's topic.

As for Clark S. Nova, we haven't heard enough of him yet. And he improved greatly from TranZit to Die Rise.

I'm not missing the point, I was just saying if he wanted a fast paced game, don't save a Zombie. Simple as that. Makes it a better challenge. I swing both ways in this category though, depends on the situation and my laziness. :P

I honestly don't mind the aspect of bringing in transportation to Zombies. They gave it their best shot, I'm not really complaining about it. I loved the idea of the bus with the rebuildable windows and traveling to new locations and trying to survive in more than 1 area.

The elevators were ok.. I like the idea with the perks inside the elevators, but I thought we were gonna actually go inside the elevators when I first heard about die rise. I was very disappointed. :(

Buildables, same thing.. I mean they tried their best to add something new. I won't knock them for trying. The trample steam and Zombie shield were great ideas imo. The rest were meh though.

I bet MOTD will be the best Zombies Map going off of what I've seen thus far. I don't think it will be a fail simply because they put a lot of effort into it. Getting actual Mob-like movie stars, actually going to Alcatraz prison and putting detail after detail into the game. Ohhhh I've never gotten chills watching a trailer for a zombies game until this one.

I also like the idea of transportation. It just has been implemented poorly. For instance, if they just did away with the keys in Die Rise and let you push a button to call the elevator whenever you wanted, it would have been a MUCH better map. You'd have to wait a few seconds instead of minutes.

I also like the idea of buildables, but again... poorly implemented. Maybe they could have let you pick up multiple parts at once, I dunno.... but having to run here, pick up the part, run to the workbench, run to the next part, run BACK to the workbench, then get the NEXT part, etc etc is just another way of making the map tedious and slow. But what I was getting at really wasn't a complaint about buildables so much as a complaint about the lackluster Wonderweapons and the inability to upgrade them.

But yeah, I think MotD looks amazing so far. I have high hopes for it. But I also thought TranZit and Die Rise were going to be a lot of fun, so....

Yes, the music industry is in an amazing place right now. Just turn on the radio! Everything is extremely diverse, interesting, and full of thought-provoking poetry. Like Skrillzexezss "I'ma try it out". Man, those lyrics speak to my soul. I like where he says "I'ma try it out" and the part where it goes "okay". So deep. Or that one M&M&M&M song where he talks about his mom, his baby momma, and makes fun of celebrities.... oh, what's the name of it? I forget.

But since those "artists" are such great and talented innovators, I highly doubt they're going to lose any sleep over me making fun of their names. Can we stay on topic, though? Opinions... you know? Yeah.

You don't gotta be a douche about it, man. I for one love Avenged Sevenfold, and the other artists are okay. Don't know why you brought up Skrillex, though. His song was only a placeholder.

But, you're right. Let's stay on topic here.

Only if life was easier.... damn treyarch!

Kidding aside. Stopmockingme came up with the idea of a Lifting Perisitant perk, where you're aloud to pick up 2 parts. I wouldn't mind seeing that in the game for sure. But ya know it doesn't really bother me to much... Except for the trample steam. That would be hella helpful. Even though you can do that 2 part pickup thing. But that's aslo a pain in the butt sometimes.

Clearly you've never been stuck in the Buddha room late rounds without ammo. Seriously, the only thing you can do is jump over to where the power is and pray to god that one of the elevators is not only on that floor, but just about to go up as well.

And I agree FULL-HEARTEDLY with wout Megaton said about pressing buttons. I mean seriously, all they had to do was make it cost 250 points like it did on Five and have it come straight to you

This forum is designed to discuss the Call of Duty's zombie mode. While your post DOES pertain to zombies, it is unnecessary to thrash these artists. Please keep it on topic
