Warning: Theory Ahead....Very Little Proof

As I listened to the trailer this afternoon, one thing stuck out in my mind that I'm sure many of you also caught. Samantha's voice is just...not Samantha's voice. Something was wrong with her voice. Why did it sound like she had been smoking for 40 years? Then a thought came to me. As I explain this, please keep an open mind until the end. And always remember: reincarnation is key.

What if Samantha wasn't the precious little girl that we've seen portrayed? What if she has a much darker side than what we've seen? I believe this just might be the case. Let's look at what supports this.

First off, the voice in the trailer is almost demonic in nature and seems evil. This voice does not sound like the cute little girl we meet in the radios or on Moon (before Big Bang Theory begins). No this seems to be a much darker, sinister Samantha speaking to the audience.

Next, let's look at the 6th audio reel found on Moon.

This is a widely known audio clip as it is the time that Dr. Maxis is seemingly killed and Samantha has her first evil laugh. Who killed Maxis? No one knows for sure. But what we do know is that we hear that evil announcer laugh for the first time. Could Samantha have been involved in his death?

So what is Samantha then? Who is she? Obviously she is Ludvig Maxis' daughter. But what else is she? I propose that Samantha Maxis could possibly be the anti-christ.

Whoa! What? That sounds dumb. Why would you even think that? Fated, get back to real theorizing please! Now now I know you're all thinking this but let me explain first. Let's look at the Biblical view of the Anti-Christ that has made me wonder this.

In the Bible, Jesus says that no one knows the day or hour that Christ will return. Only God is in possession of that knowledge (Matthew 24:36). So where does that leave Satan? It leaves him in a position of not knowing when Christ will come back. And so many Christians believe that since Satan does not know the time, that he always has an anti-christ on earth ready to come forward when the time is right. Until then, the anti-christ would stay hidden living a normal life.

So this brings us to The Great War. World War I. The time that our heroes, the O4, originally meet. An anti-christ hero is around somewhere on the planet. Let's assume that this person is in France. Let's also assume that this person is in a position that they can see all that is happening with the O4, which is why they can tell the story of what really happened.

All is dandy. The anti-christ knows the true story of what happened with our O4. But then something happens. He dies. This leaves Satan the job of bringing a new anti-christ into the world. And this is where reincarnation is key. Into the world is birthed to unsuspecting parents Samantha Maxis.

Now this is where we can go two directions with what happens.

The first direction is that Ludvig somehow finds out about who Samantha really is. With that knowledge, Samantha provides a wealth of information to Ludvig about 115 and its capabilities. She also tells him about how he can gain control of the zombies. Perhaps they had a plan to unite themselves within the MPD and be a deity within the Aether that could destroy the world. Maxis sure does seem content to kill off the remaining humans if you side with him in Black Ops 2. And in the radio given earlier, you hear him say "Kill them...all." She's a young girl. How could he give a command like that to her? Perhaps Maxis knew of who Samantha was and what she could do.

Richtofen's teleporter, which was supposed to send him to a receiving device across the room, sends him to the Moon. Why is that? Could an extremely smart, sly, little girl have altered the coordinates to where she knew the MPD was? What if, when teleported, Samantha knew how to navigate the Aether, which is why she was able to find her way into Griffin Station and into the MPD while Ludvig seemed stuck in a tunnel of sorts? With this knowledge, she was able to take control of the zombies and do with them as she desired.

Then there's direction two. Samantha has kept her identity a secret and watches from a distance as her father works diligently on his projects. When the time is right, she takes her opportunity to take control of the zombies. Maxis seems to fight dearly for his daughter with Richtofen when he is powering up the Vril Generator. "She's just a little girl Edward! She doesn't know what she's doing!" Was he really oblivious to it all?

This could go many different ways, but the point of it all is this. I believe that Samantha Maxis, pending evidence found in Origins, could be the anti-christ. This would explain how she knew exactly what happened at the beginning, even though she's way too young to have even been there. It also explains why the voice in the trailer sounds like a creepy, demonic voice and not the voice of a little girl.

All of this seems have supporting evidence that doesn't point directly, but is on a global game scale. Reincarnation seems to have been the theme of Black Ops 2. Reincarnation is exactly what would happen to the anti-christ. Once dead, he would be reincarnated into a new being.

As I stated, this was just something that a few amazing posters and I were talking about today and it came into my head. I just wanted to post it on here and get all of your thoughts on it. In no way am I 100% sure on this. I'll be the first to admit it's a bit of a "what if" scenario, but if that "what if" turned into "is", then this could change all of our views of who Samantha is and the actions that brought her to this point.

Thanks for reading. Hope to hear thoughts from you soon. Thanks to Tac and Mac for listening and critiquing some of my ideas and points.

A very interesting theory that makes some sense. I'm not completely sold, but I can't really think of any holes either. Good work!

Samantha's voice sounds like shes running out of air and is on low oxygen on the, y'know, Moon. These are some of her last words as she explains what really happened before the O3 were brainwashed? They're running out of air and she tells them their past, sounds like an Easter egg ending, "So, that's what really happened to you guys, you got all the way here and this is where the road ends.".

You have some really good theories and points here but I just want to point out that she doesn't always talk in the little girl voice that you heard in the radio, she also announces the power ups which sound REALLY similar.

The only difference is she announces the power ups so its just a louder and more commanding tone of voice whereas in the cinematic she's telling us a story.

Aren't there also a few quotes from her after she enters Richtofin's body and you play as her? I've never personally heard them but I remember reading a topic about them way back and apparently they're pretty sadistic too :P

EDIT: A LOT of quotes lol. like over 20 minutes of them.

Even when she's talking "normally" she still sounds older and more mature than just a little girl, but it still sounds Aetherial sort off and listen to all the different tones she can take on.

I seen some really good posts about how her voice changes with her mood, which would make sense because doesn't yours? :P

Don't misunderstand my post because I really DO think you are onto something big here whether she is the antichrist or not there something more to her than we know I think too.

Also as another source of reference here are Richtofin's quotes from moon

At 16:00 He talks about Maxis keeping the DG-2 from production and trying to steal the plans for the MTD and then he also goes onto referring to Samantha as "the source of madness" not him.

I think Sam is just older now, so her voice is rougher and not a little girl's voice anymore. I bet it will be explained, but perhaps she's been trapped in the aether for so long, she's aged there, or at least been corrupted by it in some way over time.

I thought she sounded older and not demonic. She is talking US in the Trailer.

I recall Richtofen having a line (But not in TranZit) that he can see everything at the Same Time. What if Samantha had that same ability when she was in the Pyramid and she even could see into the Past?

This is an interesting theory because I do suspect Samantha to have more power than we originally thought and her being the Anti-Christ fits to explain that thought.

As much as I dislike the religious implications (first seen in MotD) surrounding the direction Treyarch is taking this story, I have to acquiesce that it is entirely possible.

I would think the latter circumstance because Maxis maintains that Richtofen killed his daughter throughout BO:2. Of course that could just be a charade...Maybe Richtofen is the only one that can stop Samantha and Maxis and is the anti-hero of our story. A vile, homosexual, known for all manner of perversion that ends up saving the world from eternal damnation. Ah, the irony.

hmmm... Is it possible that, assuming Samantha is the anti-christ, that in some kind of way... Richtofen.. The polar opposite of Samantha....

OR do we move to the: There is christ in all of us? Meaning that Richtofen, Tank, Nikolai, Takeo, JFK, Castro, Macnera, Nixon, The soldiers at nact and verruct, Sara Michele geller, Robert Englund, Danny Trejo, M. Rooker, Russman, Marelton, Samule, Misty, The CDC, the CIA, Weasel, the hill billy, and any other helpers throughout the zombie storyline are sort of the "christ" to combat the maxis and zombie anti-christ.

I could be way off here since I don't know all the intricacies of the zombies storyline, but could the "Samantha" we're hearing for Origins actually be the mother? Have any of the previous Zombies storyline details ever talked about Mrs Maxis/Samantha's mother? And then our usual Samantha was maybe named after her mother?

Just throwing it out there! Since it would seem as if it fits into the timeline better to me and would explain the different accent while still being and interesting tie-in to it all.

Or, you know, I'm completely wrong and just missed the stuff that mentions Samantha's real mother.
