Why is Sam American?

I have searched topics but I can't find any like this? There is no reason for her Nationality change at all! Is it because Treyarch are an American company? I really hope not and I doubt deeper meaning.

I'm sorry, but how do you know she's American? Is it because she lacks the German accent? You don't need an accent to define your nationality...

I agree that accent and nationality don't have to correspond with eachother, it is a bit weird though as the person who raised her as a child did have a German accent (assumingly so did the people who were around her at that time) so you would think she also would have one.

Then again, she shouldn't even be able to understand English, let alone speak it. Just something that you'll have to accept in games.

She had a German accent and she looked completely different. Different eye and hair color, hell she looked pale!
